My experience here was awful. I’m not one to rate a restaurant poorly, but cleanliness is HUGE to me and nothing was clean. To start off, I dined here with a large group for brunch, and despite being a party of almost 20, we were provided one server who was also waiting on other tables. There was a server’s station in the back corner and myself and others had to resort to getting up from our table and serving ourselves water. When we did have a server, not once, but 3 different times I was served a dirty glass(two with food stuck to the glass, and the third time the server brought me a glass of water with pink lipstick stains in 3 separate spots on the lip of the glass). The coffee mug at my seat had coffee stains inside, and the plates at the buffet had food stuck to them. After complaining multiple times to the various servers and nothing being resolved, I spoke with the manager. She did comp 2 of the meals, but after seeing the grossness of the dirty dishes and glasses, more than 2 of us didn’t eat our full serving size. As far as the brunch buffet goes, there was a large selection of salads, bagels, pastries, eggs, an omelet station, carving station and dessert station. The food looked good, but was cold and most was bland in flavor. The complimentary Bloody Mary tasted like pure tomato sauce/juice, and was undrinkable, not just by me but all others in our party. We were there as a group for a celebration, and it was just too bad the experience was so awful. If you are planning an event here or even just a meal, I highly suggest you rethink your plans.

Great place for a drink, but food is mediocre. Ordered a pastrami sandwich; they were out of pastrami on a Tuesday evening. Them ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, onion and pickles; got a hamburger with white(ugh) tomatoes, lettuce and onion. Food was warm, not hot. I know where not to come when I come to Worcester again next year.

The Sunday brunch buffet is the best around. Anything you could possibly want from eggs Benedict, to corned beef hash, piles of bacon, breakfast sausage, fresh fruit, an omelette station, and so much more. My cousin and I have been traditionally coming here for a while and we never leave disappointed. Sometimes we do leave needing a nap though! If you haven’t checked this place out for brunch, you really need to.

I came here with my boyfriend around 9pm. We ordered drinks and appetizers while we were there. The bacon wrapped scallops were amazing. The service was great and the Dj played a wide range of music. It’s a great place for a late night date. We danced the night away!

I went to Maxwell Silverman’s Toolhouse for brunch having seen the sign for their Sunday brunch everyday for years. From the outside it doesn’t appear to be the type of place that would be nearly as packed as it was. so MAKERESERVATIONS, I wish I had known, luckily the friendly hostess made an exception for us which she really didn’t have to. I’ve posted pictures of nearly every station but the food is superb, and while $ 20.95 seems a little steep for a brunch, having just gotten back I can say it is worth even more! In addition to an all you can eat buffet style brunch you also get unlimited coffee or tea and a mimosa or bloody mary. They also offer water as well as your choice or orange juice, milk, or cranberry juice. They have a fresh fruit section which has watermelon, pineapple, cantaloupe, and strawberries all of which were excellent. The assorted bread section had amazing little bagels(as well as cream cheese and lox), muffins, brand name cereals, and pastries. Then salad section has potato salad and my favourite item on the whole buffet their caesar salad. There’s a section of chilled seafood with salmon and shrimp. There’s also several cheeses, grapes, and several crackers. Then begins the hot food in the traditional buffet style. There’s bacon and sausage(both of which are as great as you would expect), Then eggs benedict which were excellent but went very quickly, although they refill frequently. The pasta was excellent and an unexpected addition to brunch which was lovely. Then the potato and vegetable station, the potatoes were excellent. Then chicken, seafood, and beef all of which I was too full to try. They have an expansive omelette station, which I was also too full to try although I intend to next time. Next to the omelette station they have a full carving station with beef, ham, and turkey with all the accompaniments. They also have a section I unfortunately didn’t see on my first several passes which was french toast, waffles, and jelly stuffed crêpe rolls. They also have what I believe was scrambled eggs. Their dessert section had tarts, cannolis, and cheesecakes as well as a soft serve ice cream machine and all the fixings. I had an amazing meal, I believe I had four plates total and couldn’t recommend it higher if you want a great brunch but please remember to make a reservation because the quality of this place attracts a sizeable crowd on Sunday mornings!

Based on prior reviews I was a little reluctant to try this brunch. I was very pleasantly surprised. It’s more expensive than the brunch at other nearby locations but well worth it. A mimosa is included. There is a wide variety of hot and cold dishes. Beef, chicken and seafood all excellent. Omelette bar and carving station. Nice views. Terrific value. Great for a special occasion

I just had brunch here earlier with a friend and we loved it! It’s unfortunate reading the reviews that said the brunch was meh. Maybe we lucked out we came in without a reservation but we were seated right away! It wasn’t too busy so like I said we were lucky! The eggs Benedict was amazing! The roast beef was so delicious… overall food was great! Hot and fresh! The staff was wicked friendly as well! They were quick with clearly my plate and we’re all just so pleasant. I ordered an omelette and the woman brought it right over to my table so I didn’t have to wait for her! Dessert was good. They had baby cheesecakes and cannoli’s which were good. One thing… they grabbed our mimosas and coffee when we asked but didn’t give you water. Idk, I’d just expect water to be at the table no matter what but really no big deal.

This review is only for the Sunday Brunch they offer. Good:Their pasta with ham was raved about by my cousin never tried it personally though but i’ll list it, their pancakes, nova salmon especially when combined with the chopped onions and peppers next to it, vegetable omelet, that they prepare on the spotthe workers in their attempt to be pleasant, Bad: Salmon fillet was dry, The terrible: Croissant tasted like to was a couple days old, cheese cakes they offer were by far the worst I’ve ever had, running out of cranberry juice, apparently no hot chocolate or tea options, having to ask for water is one thing, but the server not even remembering when the place is empty is a different story. Not likely to go again as I was not impressed.

This longtime restaurant has gone way downhill. Just came from a luncheon there. Service was abysmal and food was worse. 10 of us were there, and not one good meal of the bunch. I will never return again.

Eh… we wanted to love it. I looooove brunch so naturally I was so excited to try Maxwells… after all… how can you do bad brunch! I have heard so much about this place… we couldn’t wait to try it. However, we did not have the best experience here. We met some special friends that we haven’t seen in years so we were excited to spend time together. When we walked in, we didn’t have a reservation… well apparently we were losers bc we didn’t have a reservation… I don’t know about anyone else but I can’t STAND restaurants that claim you don’t need reservations but they treat you awful when you don’t. It never said reservations a MUST anywhere on their site or in the restaurant. People who did have reservations were pushing us aside rudely like they were entitled and as if they owned the place… they must be regulars there… I mean this place is pretty big… there weren’t that many tables and they even had a whole bar area totally empty but we couldnt sit there to eat i guess. First impression? Snobby and cold. We were finally sat and the service was decent… our waiter was cool… but the mimosa which was included with brunch was weak… barely any champagne in it… tasted like straight juice. French Toast was dry and hard — they were«sticks» like the ones in the freezer isle in the grocery store… waffles were ok but soft mushy and cold and the fruit filled pancakes were dry and just ok tasting… not much flavor in the cake or the fruit filling. I went up to get ketchup after asking our waiter where it was and when an older gentleman heard I wanted ketchup he ran up in front of me and filled a whole bowl for his table and took it all! How rude!!! Now keep in mind we came in about 2 hours before the buffet ended… food was all cold and some stuff was empty and hadn’t been replenished… we thought they were ending the brunch! There was one eggs benedict left and I took it… the eggs benedict which is usually my fav was on an over cooked cold English muffin. Then came dessert… I didn’t see any ice cream sundae station like they claim they have on their site and the desserts were just ok… I think grocery store bakery desserts are better. I gave 2 stars bc our waiter was good… but I just overall wasn’t impressed with the taste of the food, the people they attract or the atmosphere. It seemed snobby and uptight. I didnt even go up for seconds or even bother tasting their lunch/dinner items like I usually would at a good brunch… I have been to so many brunches and most all have been great… not so great here… my sister also told me she didnt like their regular dinner menu either… we won’t be back to Maxwells.

I dined here with workmates one evening. It was quite good! I really enjoyed the Robert Goddard. All of the seafood was prepared well and presentation was excellent! The service was wonderful — we were however the only table in the house that night.

Long story short — this place is HORRIBLE. A co-worker chose this fossil for dinner during a work visit. I knew it was trouble when it was 7pm and there were zero cars in the parking lot. Second clue is the buffet line with a disco ball hanging above. We ordered the assortment of appetizers. Fried calamari(not bad), lemon pepper shrimp(super gross), and clams casino(whatever trumps«super gross»). I ordered the scallop special of the day — scallops with tomatoes, spinach and a balsamic glaze. 56 minutes later… I got was baked fish — in which I stated«I ordered scallops» Oh yes, that is scallops. Really — you are really trying to convince me that fish is scallops? I sent it back and got what I ordered —(5 min later) Apparently, I ordered balsamic glaze. Seriously, it was the WORST! Just a big plate of brown. I tried a scallop, then moved on with life. I don’t think any of my party enjoyed their food(outside of the rolls). Rawhide steak and Grainy Beef Pasta. I don’t even think Maxwell Silverman is a real person. If he was, he’d be embarrassed of this sham of an establishment and open a McDonalds franchise instead. Do they deserve a second chance? No way — horrible food, bad service and staff that has no idea what a scallop is? I’ll pass on all of the above.

This review is for the lunch buffet. I had it when I was in downtown for work this week. It’s not a buffet in the Chinese steam tray, 50 items type, but a banquet style like at a function or wedding, otherwise I wouldn’t have done it. A quick inspection had my stomach growling. Home made antipasto, shepards pie, turkey lasagna, ham and tomato soup, chicken kiev and breaded fish were the items of the day, along with steamed veggies and rice. At $ 6.95 with a bottomless soft drink included, you can’t go wrong, honestly it should cost a few bucks more and I’d be happy to pay it. Liz was my waitress at the bar and she was incredibly friendly and polite with a giant personality. The old mill building and giant gears and tool decorations really make for a unique setting. This place is right across from where I was working and I can’t believe it took so long to find it after downing so many terrible pizza slices and subs. Worcester, you are a terrible foodie town, at least the downtown, and this place is a gem and will be my new go to when work brings me back. Kudos!
