Amazing breakfast this morning. I had the muffin with cheese and bacon and had black pudding On the side it was so good and they cooked the bacon the way I asked. Staff at so friendly and could not be politer if they tried. Food is really value for money.

I am drawn to this little café when I am in shawlands and today I realised why! They have a collection of sweet treats that are sub-consciously drawing me in. They sell delicious truffles in all different flavours including salted caramel, peppermint, white chocolate and orange, vanilla. They are 40p each or 5 for £2. They seem to be very popular– while I was sitting having my coffee two people came in specifically to buy them to take away. The coffee is nice and staff pleasant. It isn’t my favourite place in terms of décor, layout or atmosphere but the sweet treats mean I keep going back!

A regular lunch for me. Tasty sandwiches and cakes. New options being added to menu regularly. Coffee is pretty good too. Good and quick customer service. Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is good in this often busy little café.

Delicious little treat in heart of Shawlands. Recommend. Just would like service to be a bit more on it when it is busy. Nil else to change or improve though. Do visit.

Biscuit is okay, but nothing special. The décor’s quite plain and the room is crowded with tables and chairs just that wee bit close together. The coffee is overpriced but decent, and the caramel tart I had was rather lovely but also on the more expensive side.

Skirving St is like a little slice of west end in shawlands. Biscuit is nestled between Deli 1901 and beanscene. Great cakes, lovely staff and nice coffee make it a must coffee and gab stop.

This is a lovely independantly run café which has a great balance. Yummy coffees and lush homemade cakes. I save this place as a special treat. The staff are always welcoming. For coffe and cake price is reasonable, for a meal its pretty expensive for a café, but a nice treat.

My first visit to Biscuit made me think«wow, I could come back here loads. Nice cakes, good sofa in the sun postion, fast & friendly service». So I did go back, but each time was a little ‘less good’ than the visit before. One day there were so many prams and mothers in pale pink jogging suits after some Yoga-in-the-Park club the waitresses couldn’t squeeze past with the trays. And I know this isn’t the fault of Biscuit who are limited to space but come on ladies! Do you need to visit these cafes en masse? 2 or 3 prams at a time is ok, but 8 or 9?! The menu doesn’t change often, but has quite tasty looking lunch options, although I think it’s a little pricy for some items(I’m sure basic bagels and toasties are about a fiver) Cakes are good and some are sweet enough to last even the most sweet toothed person all day. Seating at the front is nice and bright but the back section is a bit dingy. A bit more imagination on the menu(a few really tempting«specials» would be great) and a little respruce to the décor would be great but they’re always busy so what do I know?!

West End in all but location, Biscuit is an ideal companion to Deli 1909 next door, with an extensive menu that goes beyond coffee, cakes and sarnies to encompass main meals including a particularly meaty and delicious burger. Again like it’s neighbour, Biscuit seems to have been welcomed with open arms by the locals, and long may it continue. This little street is perhaps among the most boho-friendly in the South Side, with businesses like this popping which complement rather than compete with the older and more traditional stores in the area. The ice-cream is tremendous too. 5 stars.

Biscuit is a fresh, modern café situated just off Pollockshaws Road in Shawlands. They have a large menu so whether you’re after a light lunch, a juicy burger or just some coffee and a cake Biscuit caters for everyone They also have a good selection of cakes and I was really tempted by the cupcakes but I feel guilt after eating my way through 5 Easter eggs… so maybe next time. You can sit indoors which has a lovely chilled out atmosphere or you can sit outside, providing that the sun is shining of course. Prices are reasonable, they have a huge selection of tasty treats to choose from and the staff ensure a friendly vibe which in my opinion makes it a much better option that soulless Beanscene next door.

Independent coffee shop. Cute name, look and… staff…how can i resist? In search of my morning coffee fix(fridge broken, no milk, i don’t drink black coffee) i noticed this wee joint looking funky, trendy a wholly appealing down a wonderfully enticing street in Shawlands. Cue latte, cake, paper and arse on comfy couch. I like this place. Its no coffee house or restaurant but there is a certain appeal to it that almost guarantees you’ll head back if your in the area, and to be honest if i lived in the area i would probably head there on a regular basis. Good cakes, lovely coffee, nice chilled out atmosphere and a further selection of nice grub… two nicely caffeined thumbs up from me.

This café is on the street of cafes, a recent addition, but with a friendly, homely atmosphere. I’d recommend the spiced cakes: there is nowhere else that serves anything as original as these in the area. Although it is not a large café, there is usually plenty of space: it is another one that does attract families(they do special cakes at the appropriate times of year, and have a children’s menu). The menu goes from the imaginative– try the split English muffin for a surprisingly good combination– to the predictable– chip butties?- but is served with pride and speed. The Biscuit Club Sandwich is the best of the lunch offers: filled with gherkins and jalapenos, it has that extra tang that lifts it away from the ordinary: otherwise, you are left with fairly generic, if tasty, choices of wraps and salads. You can bring a bottle if you want to make an occasion of it– there is an Oddbin’s next door, conveniently– but this isn’t really the place for an alcoholic drink and leisurely afternoon. I’d hit it for a good alternative to pub grub, or a coffee and cake.

To me, this is the kind of place that I have been looking for all my life. Why ?? First thing that I look for is the noise level. It is nice peaceful kind of laid –back bossa nova music.(Astrid Gilberto type of thing)…If it is too noisy then you will find that you are lip-reading as to what your friend is saying.(believe me I’ve had nights in the Beanscene, in various parts of Glasgow where you cannot hear what people are saying).(The place known as Beanscene that I would re-christen Hellis a few door along from this café). I paid £2.95 for a scrambled egg on breadWas glad to pay it for the ambience of the placeThey have also very sensibly have one toilet which doubles up as a disabled toilet. The other thing that I noticed was that the staff seemed pretty normal and friendly compared with the Beanscene who seem to have a Take it or leave it,‘cos we’re kinda busy and don’t really need your pitiful fiverattitude. The other point that I noted was that they had a clockWho needs a clock now, you may be thinking when I’ve got a posh phone that can even fix me up with a date, rustle up a skinny latte and locate the dog. A golden oldie like me who does not possess a phone likes to watch what the time is on a real clock!!! The only thing that I noticed was that they do not have a great deal of papers to read. Other than that I could not complain
