I like to eat, especially when I’m working — it’s something to do with boredom and rewarding myself. Thus, I’ve been in here quite a few times over the years. The venue itself is small, clean, tidy and well presented. The staff are pleasant enough and deal well with lunch time queues. Now for the food… The selection is fantastic and you really WANT to eat healthily when you’re in here. It’s all the rows and rows of containers full of colourful, freshly sliced and diced veg. Meanwhile, the portions are large and you can get any bread, roll, bagel, panini or other bread related product you can imagine. However, the prices are little bit higher than I would like them. It’s also easy for your sandwich price to sky rocket through just adding a some salad. So it’s worth watching out for and trying to go for one of their sandwich deals instead of ‘creating your own’.

I like a good sandwich. I don’t like paying a billion euros though, for what is effectively a few slices of bread with some fillings. I don’t know how or when it happened, the transition from sandwiches being a sort of cheap DIY food to a swanky lunch must-have. I just don’t know. Anyhow, I’m not one to make big decisions like where to go for lunch, oh no, so if someone fancies a quick sitting in style lunch affair I won’t argue with them if they want to go here. The sandwiches are good, as well as the coffee, and the selection is really good. This branch is on a good spot as well which helps. Recommended… but remember, it’s just bread!

Okay, so this branch of O’Briens may be small, but the sandwiches are huge! I usually get the chicken and bacon triple decker with all the trimmings and let me tell you, it is phenomenal! I like sitting in with friends, getting a nice glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, a triple decker and a bag of hand-cooked crisps. Nothing beats it! I keep seeing more and more O’Briens shutting down which sucks because I think the sandwiches are so deserving of a few sandwich awards. I guess the thing that puts people off is the price as a tripledecker doesn’t come cheap, but it’s so worth it!
