Had a great experience here today. I’ve been traveling through Europe for 5 weeks, barely laying my head down the same place more than two nights, and sometimes you just need a friendly convo. I’ve always said the Scots are the friendliest bunch I’ve ever met and I was proved right yet again by sweet Aurora who chatted with me like an old friend. Excellent drinks, fab conversation, and the spiced peanuts are fantastic. Really felt at home here. Highly recommend

The staff were really friendly and helpful, we were browsing the food menu and they said they could ask the chef to adapt anything, they are also launching a new menu soon so I think we will revisit then to re-review! The drinks selection here is excellent; 5 real ales on offer from Arran brewery, some craft keg lager(Skye) and a large selection of bottles as well as the usual spirits and softs. The décor in the toilets is a bit tired(doesn’t fit with the bar décor which is modern and has large murals/interesting artwork). They have a good selection of papers and magazines to browse, and a pool table. Outside searing area is lovely on a summery day.

Went in for the scotland Ireland game with two friends. All tables where reserved but the girl with the dark hair managed to move a few things round and got us some great seats. The girls on the floor did a great job keeping us filled up on pints and pizza. Really pulled out all the stops on a busy day. Cheers guys

A great place for beer, whisky, food and friendly faces. The malt of the month never disappoints, and the staff is remarkably lovely. This is the sort of bar that you find yourself revisiting daily!

The Italian and I were starving yesterday and were desperate for some food in our bellies. I practically pointed to the nearest food place possible and just decided to go for it(without doing the usual«check Unilocal» routine). We weren’t expecting much as it was 5pm and the place wasn’t busy. We could easily sit outside at the nice red verandah, to gain a bit of warmth from the sun! I ordered the Vege burger and the Italian ordered the parma ham pizza(which we got for £10 altogether as they have a good food deal!). This was legit COMFORTFOOD. I was so happy! No longer was i starving! The vege burger was pretty good, and it came with chips so no complaints from me haha. The Italian was pleasantly surprised by how fresh the pizza was! He liked it and said it was pretty decent(for his high standards haha). I dunno if it’s because it wasn’t busy or it was an odd hour but my experience there was unexpectedly good! Might go back for that vege burger :)

Stumbled upon this bar on our way home and so glad we did. The bar is clearly a favourite of the well heeled locals in Park and has a selection of Arran Craft beers on barrel tap. Seating is plentiful and staff friendly. Unusually for Glasgow, you can either order at the bar or staff always offer to take an order as they pass by collecting glasses etcetera. By day, it looks to be child friendly as there were high chairs stacked up in the corner. The bar was quite busy for 11pm but there were still loads of free seats. There’s also a fairy light bedecked seating/smoking area outside at the front.

Here comes another nasty place where you do not want to end up!!! Overpriced everything, and the food, wow, this is something; here comes another cowboy chef! The staff also smells bad over perfumed, the so called manager smells like he slept in his clothes for days, he comes up to you with a 1980’s humor and over familiar, please close this place!!! Pass by this place by error and do not stop. Never again!!!

Scaramouche! Scaramouche! Will you do the Fandango? Well they’ve got to do something right because the lunch I received at this place has got to be one of my worst on record. Having missed the good old days of the original Scaramouche and the fun nights after work, I passed by here a couple of weeks back to find they were renovating the old haunt so couldn’t wait to get the chance to pop in for lunch and renew some memories… What a huge disappointment! Don’t let the crisp white exterior fool you. On entering we were placed at a table and as we only had an hour for lunch quickly set to checking the menu. Nothing exciting, the usual pub food, Burgers, fish and chips, pasta, pizza etc. I had a real notion for Mash potato so ordered the steak and Ale pie whilst my friend opted for the burger and chips. So with drinks delivered to our table hence the long and arduous wait began. For 45 minutes we sat awaiting food and with long since empty glasses quite clearly sitting on the table not once were we approached for another round. Eventually the food finally arrives!!! «That’ll be Steak and Ale pie with CHIPS» … Nooooooooooooo!!! How hard can it be? Does the word Mash sound like Chips? Now with only 5 minutes to actually eat it before we had to race back to work I had so settle for the chips. So what was so special about the Steak and Ale pie that took so long? They’re not individually cooked and quite clearly the stew is made in one big pot dolloped onto a plate with an individual puff crust popped on top. Vegetables on the side? Nope. The Burger was no better, Roll, burger, chips and a dollop of tomato sauce on the side… DRY! All in all the service was non existent. We’ve experienced poor service in the past from other places but can honestly say this is the first time ever we never left a tip. This is nothing like the old place where you could pop in easily on your lunch hour and enjoy a relaxing lunch to break up the chaos of a busy day in the office, this just wound me up even more.
