Had been there this evening. Awesome spread. Must say true taste of Kerala food and cuisine. Enjoyed a full meal with the lingering coconut oil smell and taste after 4 years of having food in Kerala itself. Must try for all Keralites. We took a fish curry meal and a chicken Biryani with a special egg roast and a kiddie ice cream. The ice cream was in a penguin-shaped toy. The kids were too excited to have it. Very close to the East ham station so definitely would go again!

If you have an itch for South Indian food, come to East Ham for Ananthapuri. Little paradise for kerala food just a minute or two from the tube station. We usually get the whole fish cooked in spices and tomato and wrapped in banana leaf, butter chicken, pilau rice, and a trio of parathas. More than enough food for three people, and for two people, you have enough for lunch the next day. And this comes out to £29 total for two people, even with a mango lassi. Food does take a little while, but great place to sit and chat since it never gets super crowded. Pick up some desserts from one of the joints down the street!

Authentic food from Kerala at its best. This place is located 10 – 20 steps to the right of the East Ham tube station making it very easily accessible. I have now been there 3 times and loved the food all 3 times. I have tried the fried fish and beef, thali meals — both veg and non-veg, Kerala Porotta and some lassi. Everything was stellar and authentic except the lassi(which is technically not something made in Kerala). The price is amazing as well. The Thali is for just 4.5 quid if I remember right. I think they do take reservations but its never been full in the times I have gone there. The only negative point I have to say is about the toilets. This place doesn’t have toilets on its premises and so when you exit through the door market ‘Toilet’ you are transported into the neighbouring pub(which is presumably owned by the same chaps. The first time, I felt as though I was in a scene from the matrix going int oa weird room through a door. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone from Kerala, India(like me) or if you want to try something different(and spicy). 4*(and not 5) because of the toilets.
