A true surprise finding a genuine Italian restaurant in Chinatown. These guys are the real deal… hand-tossed pizzas, amazing pastas, delicious protein dishes. I had the asparagus with prosciutto and Parmesan, and the beef filet with pistachios and honey sauce… too much for me to eat, the portions are HUGE! And delicious… plus the service and wine list are second to none. Highly recommend, especially if you’re American like me… they treat you nicely :)

I ordered the truffle Pappardelle and he had the gnocchi in cream sauce which I will have to mention was superb. I enjoyed my dish however the pappardelle noodles were a bit too easily broken but it had a good mushroom to noodle ratio and the truffle taste wasn’t too overwhelming.
Service was friendly and we were greeted by the owner upon entry/exit. He seemed genuinely pleased that we both enjoyed our meals.
Perhaps the highlight of our meal was meeting the lovely couple from Suffolk sitting one table over who was visiting London. They immediately seemed to take notice when they overheard us speaking in our American accents. After a few minutes they struck up a conversation with us which lasted throughout the course of our meal.
If in the area I would recommend Astoria.
