The menu is pretty classic. You’ll find various colour curries, soups, a good range of stirfry dishes, noddles and various seafood options too. We had a Prawn Tom Yum soup(£4.50), which was excellent and is always a great option if your head needs clearing, some Spring Rolls(£4.50)and Chicken Satay(£4.50) to start. The soups are great here but I find the rest of the starters pretty average. For our main course we had a Chicken Laksa(£7.50), which was so rich and flavoursome. It’s probably the best I’ve had anywhere in London and a Beef Pad Phet(£7.50), which was a rich fragrant sauce of red curry, stir fried with lemongrass, lime leaves, green pepper corns & fresh chilli — similar to a Panang Curry with a portion of coconut rice(a great accompaniment if you’re having a spicy dish). Based on previous visits I can recommend the Pad Thai, which is excellent and the green and red curries are very good as well. The only criticism I have is that their Som Tum(one of my favourite dishes) doesn’t have any green papaya in it! It’s a carrot based version instead.

Chompoo, means apparently pink in Thai. By far one of my favorite Thai places in London. Truly loving the food there! The prices are a bit expensive to be honest, but the food is always incredible, juicy, tasty and filling. I brought many friends over and have been a loyal costumer during the past 6 – 7 years. Well done!

While their in-restaurant atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired, their takeaway is fantastic. My husband and I ordered delivery from their website while I was recovering from jet lag, and they were prompt and delicious. The Panang curry was very flavourful and had a good kick, our duck Pad Thai was well balanced and delicious, and the rice was perfectly fluffy. My only complaints were that 1) it wasn’t made clear on the website that delivery starts at 6pm(and we ordered around 5pm — they phoned us to tell us why it was taking so long), and 2) the sides of rice were £3 each, which is pretty steep for basic jasmine rice. We contemplated making our own at that point. Once the delivery started, they showed up almost immediately. Food was nice and hot, too, so it clearly hadn’t been sitting around. We will definitely be ordering from them again before we move.

My husband and I have been here more times than we can count(and I think he has secretly been for lunch in the same day without telling me). The staff are lovely and the food has always been tasty. I always have either sweet and sour chicken or tofu, pad thai or one of the curries — I try and be more adventurous but can never stray too far from these dishes. I’ve been to so many other thai restaurants of similar price and been so disappointed with tiny portions or really thin, watery sauces… Chompoo really take pride in what they do. Their cooking area is visible too so you can see and hear them before food is served. Gutted I don’t live as near to this as I used to.
