A reasonable sushi place with good service, and good atmosphere. The staff were attentive to my request for a reservation on short notice and helped me to reserve the table I wanted. The menu was fairly standard sushi and other associated items. The fish was good, not amazing, but better than most sushi in London. The company and conversation made the whole thing 4 stars vs. 3.

Good food but the worst service by far I have received in London. Six pieces of sashimi and a salmon ceviche(no cooked food ordered) took an hour and ten minutes to arrive. After 45 minutes of waiting, the waitress came by to say a large take away order had arrived and the kitchen was busy. In other words, the take away order took precedence over the customers who had come to the restaurant to dine there in person. She offered us a miso soup as a consolation. When the food arrived, it was so far past the time we had to get back to work that we had to take it to go.

Situated at the outskirts of borough market, this little shop has become our intermediate stop from work to home when we feel peckish for some raw fish. I recommend the crispy salmon roll for some slightly unhealthy but delectable indulgence. We haven’t really tried much else on their menu besides the rolls and sashimi — the deluxe sashimi set is small, but the quality of the fish is incredible. At the back of the menu is a table showing where all the fish are sourced, and their efforts to be sustainable about their choices. As a human being, this is something that I want to support, so that’s another reason to come here.

Great sushi, nice restaurant. Seemed a bit unprofessional. We had to ask for chopsticks and a spoon. Food came out really quickly, tasted fresh and was very good.

I ordered the avocado brown rice sushi and salty edamame, both vegan, and was somewhat disappointed. The sushi was edible but not great, and the edamame was pretty gross. I’ve had better sushi from a grocery store deli package. But, delivery was fast, ordering was online, and the prices were good. I wish they had marked vegan options.

I’ll give it 3.5 actually-rounding up. Hubby surprised me by suggesting my fave cuisine — sushi! One things that put me off at the start was a weird smell in the place and the lack of great service But to the food and drink, I had the viognier and hubby had a Sapporo. We had salted edamame to start, the veggie sushi plate and inside out maki with salmon and chili. All of it was yum and I can’t say anything bad about it bc I actually liked the sushi. I will def come back for a quick meal near home

You know that saying ‘daylight robbery?’ Well I think this applies to feng sushi. My cousin and I popped in here for a light snack(as well as grazing through borough market) and we ordered two salads. One power lunch(rice salad) and one tofu salad. each salad cost around £9 and there were the size of a kaiten sushi plate(the teensy ones off belts) Yes, I’m a small girl, but don’t assume I can only eat tiny portions. also. this the tofu salad was beyond tiny. 6MINICUBESOFTOFU. SIX. I COUNTED. also they said it had french beans, given that they chopped that up in small pieces, I got all of TWOBEANS. with LEAVES. The power lunch-it cost 50p extra and it contained pomegranates, salmon sashimi, avocado and brown rice. WHATARETHEPRICEMARGINSFORTHIS? This makes my brain EXPLODE from trying to compare the differences. Both salads also very salty, somebody in the kitchen was angry at miso dressing. I get that salad is supposed to be healthy, but high blood pressure from excess sodium is just well, the opposite of healthy. Just. so. disappointed.

This was my first sushi love. I was taken to Feng Sushi on a date, and unlike that relationship, my commitment to Sushi has not yet died away. Since I was a novice the food came out and all I had to do was sit back and enjoy the experience. The warmest, saltiest, edamame beans I’ve ever had were presented to me. I popped them into my mouth and ate them like a greedy baby. Next the tempura — lightly battered mushroom, pepper and even a leaf of some description. All soaked in a light soy sauce. The meal went on, one plate as devise as the next. Trying not to get too excited I’ll leave that one there…

ver heard of a Danish Sushi Chef? Or even better, an award winning female Danish Sushi Chef? I thought not! Well Silla Bjerrum is both, and she runs the incredible Feng Sushi restaurants situated all over London including Borough Market, Royal Festival Hall and Kensington. Sitting in the working delivery kitchen of her Billingsgate’s branch, fresh fish everywhere, and with Silla being one of the best Sushi chefs around, this was surely going to be a night to remember. Having never really tried sushi before, trying what was put in front of me was not only exciting, but a huge learning curve for my taste buds. And those taste buds were more than impressed! Cuttlefish battered sided with a spicy dip, organic Tofu in Miso dressing, Mackerel salad with Edamame, and Crab Meat Donduri to name a few of the ten courses that graced the table, and all plates were returned empty. The best bit about the incredible tastes my mouth was experiencing was that the ingredients are all locally sourced. Having had the fish purchased from sustainable sellers in the fish market that morning, all of the produce was coming from Cornwall, Devon and Scotland. Even the Tofu was handmade in Brick Lane! There really isn’t a thing you could complain about as the Sustainable City award looms over us from its pride of place on the shelf for everyone to see. If you’re a sushi fan, or have been toying with the idea of trying it, then give Feng Sushi some of your time, and you will most certainly not be disappointed. In fact you will enjoy it so much you will want to make use of their delivery service for when you’re working hard at the office, I know I will be!

The price has gone up and quality has gone down a lot. The service was random. They put a chopstick in my drink when they served it. What was that about? We ordered sushi and had to asked to plate for putting soy sauce. We ordered salad and had to asked for salad dressing! My tea was as weak as water and cold! I would not go back there again

Decent takeaway in a location that was convenient to my hotel. I walked in, approached the counter, was sort of greeted by the guy behind the computer, placed and paid for my order, and took a seat. Ten minutes later(I went at an off time), someone else came out with my bag of food. For a little over £10, I received six pieces of brown rice avocado maki and 8 pieces of shitake tempura maki. While I love brown rice, and I like that they offer it as an option, I don’t know that I would order it again. just my personal preference. The shitake tempura maki was good, and I would order it again, even if I did think it was overpriced for what I got. I don’t know that I use more wasabi, ginger or soy sauce than the average person, but I was very surprised by how little of each I received with my order. Now I understand why they have extras of each on offer on their menu; you’ll need it if you want more than packet of soy sauce, et al., for your entire meal. I may order again from here if in the area again, but I’d be just as likely to try someplace else.

Although the yellowtail and the Miso soup are decent here, the customer service and price-value is absolutely not adequate. Be aware of the Loch Duart Salmon — it is nothing else than farm raised salmon at a disgustingly high price. I had this confirmed only after sending the manager to the kitchen and find out. I will not come back here, there are better and friendlier places around Notting Hill.

I came here and had the bento box which was delicious, fresh, with generous portions of fresh fish as well as a duck roll that was just. incredible. Unfortunately I have to knock a star off a potential 4 star review because of the appalling service. There were two girls at the counter who were more interested in online and phone orders than the patrons in the restaurant. We waited nearly 10 minutes before they came around to take our order and they seem to forget about us after they delivered our food. We finished our meal and were waiting to receive our bill but after waiting for another good 10 minutes it seemed more efficient to walk up and pay for it at the counter.

The Japanese cuisine served at Feng Sushi offers your typical Japanese fare, but also dishes with a western influence. i.e. Japanese fish and chips. Overall I found the food a bit hit and miss. The worse offenders were the truly bland and overpriced Udon Noodle salad with crab meat(@ £11.50), and the soft shell crab sushi rolls(@£10.50) — so overpriced for what essentially worked out to be about a quarter of soft shell crab encased in the roll. The wasabi was also way too mild and the size of a pea(yes really!). Lucky for us however the charming waitress brought us a good scoop of the stuff so an additional star for that. The surprising winners were the Japanese fish and chips @£10(though who can go wrong with fried boneless white fish and fried potato?); the yellowtail sashimi salad @£9.75; the crispy baby squid @£8.75 and the seasonal special of deluxe sashimi to share that included seared tuna and salmon. The service toward our group of 20 diners was warm and friendly, and with a bill that worked out at less than £35 per person — it was a pleasant surprise. They also made space in their fridge for my friend’s birthday cake until it was ready to be brought out. Overall it was a convivial place to meet with friends, but would I come back? Hmm probably not.

There are a couple of things I really like about this place. I’ve been going for about 10 years and the quality is always consistent. I have some favourites: the Nippon Duck. Although a veggie dish, I have seen many a meat eater’s face light up at this. Also, the tempura are perfectly prepared with the lightest most delicate batter. The sushi is freshly prepared and never refrigerator cold. Try to finish off with the green tea ice cream. Good selection of beer. Delivery service is reliable and maintains the same restaurant quality.

Feng Sushi used to be right out the back door of my office — so I was always going. But don’t think I like this place just because of my laziness and the location. For some reason, and please do correct me if you know better, it’s difficult to get day to day good sushi in London. There are a lot of fabulous high end expensive Japanese restaurants, and a lot of lowbrow not-so-great Yo Sushis, but it’s difficult to find a place that has sushi good enough and decently priced enough to return to week after week. For me, Feng Sushi fills the bill. The sushi is fresh and delicious. And the price is not as high as Square Meal would have you think — you can get a sushi platter or bento box for under £20 easily. This specific location on Stoney St is right next to Borough Market, Konditor & Cook, Neal’s Yard Dairy and a bunch of other stuff. The place is small so sometimes you have to wait during lunch. The staff is very nice. The décor is charming. I do recommend coming in person as it’s a very enjoyable place to have lunch.

Feng Sushi is a great delivery place but you can also eat in as well. There are around six branches in London I think, this being the only one I’ve ever eaten used… I’ve had sushi delivered from places like Bento before but I’ve never been that happy with the food. The food from this place however is affordably cheap and friendly, it’s pretty good. These guys claim to use the freshest ingredients and the best fish and you can taste that for sure. I urge you to try this place. It’s a great sushi place that delivers too and means everyone can taste a little bit of Japan and have it come straight to their door.
