Just reopened after a major refurbishment, now selling a selection of real ales and live music on a Friday night
Pool. Darts. racing and football are now in the new sports bar next door «mcloughlins «.
Now with San Miguel on tap as well as cloudy Apple

The only this saving this pub are the exceptional, hard working and friendly staff. The sorry excuse for a landlord and so called landlady think its appropriate to spend their day getting drunk and aggressive and abusing their paying customers, no wonder the place is going nowhere. If you ask me their licence should be revoked.

It’s a rough local’s pub, so probably best avoided unless you want to sit amongst tables of people from the local council estate. I was wearing jeans, and felt out of place with everyone else wearing stained tracksuit bottoms.
The interior is old and run down and bizzarely includes some stuffed toy tiger heads in the corners.
There’s a minimal selection of standard lagers (Carling, Fosters, Stella etc.). Apparently they do live music, but I wouldn’t want to go back to find out. Go to Blackheath or Greenwich instead if you prefer a nice atmosphere for a drink.

OK for watching football and live music in back room. More friendly than it looks, free bar snacks Sunday lunchtime. There are better pubs nearby such as The Dacre.
