Good selection of ales, beers and nice wine list. Wonderful in the summer when you can sit outside in the square and rent Boul. Never been a massive fan of the food, but it does what it says on the tin so to speak. Cute, nice chilled place for a pint with a good london square view.

Very small but good beer selection. On Cleaver Square and you do get the impression that if you don’t live on Cleaver Square, they don’t really want you there! A nice enough little local but nothing special. There are others in the area that are better. Never eaten there as every time we have been to eat they«aren’t serving».

Great place, charming local. Good for a day time drink. The food is also great value. Recommend fish and chips. Pete is a great bar manager

Great pub that has a good collection of beers — some I’ve never had before. I really like the community feel it has as in a sense it is hidden. I’ll definitely visit again.

Smashing pub tucked quietly away in the corner of a pretty square. Good beers, not bad food and a fine place to escape the pace of the city.

Well well well. Yes it’s a nice pub in a nice location but what’s a pub for? Well for me it’s a warm atmosphere and good customer service… So how is a man to feel when he turns up for last orders and is served by someone with less personality than a plank of wood and then forced to listen to that plank of wood tapping at the bar waiting for you to leave. Rude unfriendly and needs someon to come and sand it down. What a plank.

Kennington’s finest pub. It is a bit pricey, but not that bad. Shepherd’s Neame, so the beer is good. It gets pretty busy because of its fantastic location on Cleaver Square. In the summer, I can’t think of a nicer place in the world to be but outside the Prince of Wales, watching(or indeed playing) les boules on cleaver square, supping on a frothing tankard of ale. Aaah, bliss.

A lovely, cosy, warm pub on a cute square. I just moved to this area and feel like this will definitely become my local. Seemed like there were many locals in the pub for a Monday night but not too busy. Friendly service and average prices. Will keep you updated on what its like on different nights.

Wonderful traditional pub situated in a gorgeous picturesque square in Kennington. Summertime is accompanied by lazy days drinking outside in the sun with boules players in the square, while the less bright months find you tucked up inside a warm, cosy, well-maintained pub with great cask ales and excellent service. Food menu is maybe a little limited(lunchtime, for example, is a choice of bangers and mash, fish and chips, salad, or sandwiches), but what is on the menu is scrumptious. One of the best in the area and probably an ideal spot to bring a tourist friend to, it has all of the ‘traditional English charm’ without being overrun by tour busses.

This is a lovely little pub in an almost idyllic location not far from Kennington Station. The pub is located in the corner of Cleaver Square and in nicer weather they will give you plastic receptacles for your drinks should you wish to take them into the square. People seem to be playing boules/petanque in the square so maybe you can join them if that is your thing. We preferred to sit just outside and take in the sun, but the inside is very pleasant too. They serve 3 ales and the usual drinks. I’m pretty sure food is available too though I didn’t try any. Definitely recommended, particularly for a lazy summer afternoon!

A country pub in south london! This place oozes charm and warmth. Tucked in the corner of a quiet, beautiful square, this boozer is tiny and never too busy. Just to add to the atmosphere there’s usually people playing petanque under the trees outside! It’s got a great selection of ales — when I went there was a sensational beer of the month which tasted like golden honey. A couple of outdoor tables, friendly service and home-cooked food make this place a true winner when it comes to a quiet drink with a friend or even an informal date. Make sure you get a table though as lack of space means it can get a bit cramped.
