Nothing special. Quite a grotty London pub. We reserved a table for lunch and half of our party received their lunch 20 minutes before the rest of the party. One colleague then waited an additional 10 minutes on top of this to be served his food. Food isn’t great, frozen burgers, deep fried crumbed chicken, oven chips… You get the idea. I think the sandwiches are slightly more favourable than the burgers, but I can’t comment from my own experience. I’ll avoid this pub for lunch in the future as there are nicer places in Vauxhall and Kennington to eat.

Good pub in Vauxhall — it’s definitely a local, but it has some character and does the best it can. There’s a pool table, several couches and TVs, and a nice big outdoor area in the back. You won’t find any special craft beers here, just the usuals and a few cask ales, but I think that’s what the clientele wants! Great place to watch football or have a drink with some mates, but if you’re looking for a big night out or something nicer it’s best to move on. Still, I always find myself coming back here. Must be the charm!

Nothing special at all. This is one for the football, maybe. Despite the pub being fairly empty when we went in there, the football was overpowering. Luckily there is an outside area for just this kind of occasion(yes I know I’m a hypocrite because I often do go to pubs to watch the overpaid show ponys prance around the field). Drinks wise, they had a couple of ales on pump so I was at least pleased with that. Doubt I’ll be back to be honest. If I am I shall be sitting outside because the tables out front are a redeeming feature.

Fairly quiet(well, almost dead for a Friday night in fact!) local in a dodgy looking area of Vauxhall. It’s got a beer garden, karaōke system, and a pool table. Both Adams ales were off(why oh why?) but they had Old Peculiar bottles in the fridge, which saved the day. The outdoor seating could do with a little shoring up

A great proper pub located between Oval, Kennington and Vauxhall. It’s fairly small, with a second room with a pool table. This is a real local and usually fairly quiet — meaning the bar staff can spend plenty of time having fun with the regulars! Unusually, the pub was hosting an 18th birthday party which did ruin the ambience somewhat — a mixture of pop and thrash metal played as loud as if it were a club. But it did provide a bit of extra entertainment for the evening, even if we couldn’t hear each other speak. Definitely recommend for somewhere to go for a few pints in familiar surroundings. Oh, and if you have a fancier drink(spirit and mixer!) they’ll give you a big bendy straw to drink it through — definitely a bonus.
