3 pushing on 4 stars for this no frills café in the heart of Broadway Market up nearer the top. The thing that sets it apart is that it is more Turkish than say standard English café and that they have women out front with their own area making flatbreads with fillings fresh to order.
The café was also quite relaxed about me bringing my can of beer in while we ate too. I’m sure people go in to eat other things but it’s a street food with a café amidst a whole for market outside that makes it nice to see. Reminds me of my local Turkish eats in Green Lanes North London.

I’d give it a 3.5. Looks better from the outside. Not bad though, especially for the price and fast turnaround. For £2.50 you get either a spinach + cheese or potato + onion Gozleme — a Turkish version of a crêpe but much larger, with more dough. Tastes fresh but average. Either the dough needs more flavor or the filling needs more oomph. It’s made on the spot by a woman who rolls out the dough and adds filling, then another person heats it up next to her. The inside smells like a greasy spoon, since they serve classic diner food as well. Really intense so if that bothers you definitely get it for take away. Or if you’re hungover this might help you recover faster! Nothing special about the atmosphere, however it doesn’t really need to be. Quick bite and move on kind of place.

It’s hard to walk down Broadway Market and resist the culinary gravity of a Turkish lady industriously rolling out two-​foot wide crepes and packing them with all manner of delicious fillings (cheese & spinach, potato, etc.).
Called gözleme, the hand-​made pastry is more than enough for a solid lunch, though you should probably get yourself a nice salad to even out the food karma.
Only £2.50, so skint Londoners in Hackney, you need to come by and get some of this in you post-​haste!

We were seduced by this café’s window, where 2 chefs were making fresh Gozleme.
The inside is like any other working man’s café but these guys definitely added their own twist.
The Gozleme itself was quite tasty in my opinion even though not mind blowing. The side salad (which comes as an extra) could have easily been made with tastier products and the cheese sandwich should have been melted to be nice.
Gozleme is quite cheap (£2.5) and is enough on its own.
The place is more attractive from the outside but I still enjoyed trying their Gozleme. Their kitchen was closed when we came.
It was overall a bit disappointing. It’s worth stopping by when you hungry I suppose but they still have a hell of a job to do about the atmosphere.
