Stopped by for brunch at the tail-end of a run along the canal. Found it surprisingly easy to get a table(around 10am), but about a half hr later it was quite crowded. Opted for the Eggs Benedict(they offer it with duck eggs instead of hen eggs; I couldn’t tell any major difference!) and they were every bit as rich as you would expect of an eggs benedict. The bacon strips on top were cooked to perfection and had a bit of a chorizo-ish taste to them, but perhaps that was my mind projecting the taste being in a Spanish restaurant. Very good service, though seating got a bit tight as it became crowded. A good option at the far end of Broadway Market after a jog along the canal!

i had just gotten off a 24.5 hour flight, put down my bags and wandered down broadway market for a bite to eat and lemme tell you what folks i was not disappointed. i mean who am i to say i wasnt disappointed but it was just really delicious. i felt like little bits to eat as i had just eaten airplane food for the past 5 meals and it had well and truly messed me up. i got a bit of everything, meatballs, bread and olive oil, seafood paella and the patatas bravas. it was all very tasty and i wanted to get more but i realised that would be stupid because who the hell was gonna eat it all. i want to go back and try more because im still beating myself up for not getting those stuffed courgette flowers but ill tell u now i’ll be back for sure. bloody perfect for any occasion, first date? yup. hang with your galz? yup. dinner with parents? yep. its a tick in every box.

Very popular on a Sunday lunchtime, and we had to wait outside for our table despite having a reservation. Pleased to say that’s the only slight negative. Positives, however, are numerous. Fresh juices. And excellent tapas on the whole. Highlights for me were the zingy tuna tartare — which I never thought I’d like btw. Trust me, it’s outstanding. Calamari was light and delish. Bonus points go to the patatas bravas for having the spicy and creamy sauces on the side. The patatas themselves were dreamy — crisp yet fluffy potato pillows. Dessert star performers were the dense gluten-free choc cake and the crème caramel. I don’t drink coffee but my companions noted it was nice. Although we had tapas the brunch looked scrumptious, and if I was local I’d be all over those eggs and avocado toast. Hot tip for cat lovers: sit in the middle of El Ganso and you might spy a furry neighbour perched at the window of nearby Kansas Smitty’s.

Wonderful healthy fresh dishes that completely satisfy! The manager was friendly and accommodating. Cozy atmosphere only added to the pleasant experience. Great breakfast spot and worth a few minutes of wait for such beautiful food.

El Ganso really defines the Broadway market culinary scene with it’s(somewhat edgy and) off beat tapas recipes. The fare is fairly traditional, but here and there you will find some unusual flavours thrown in, which gives it a little bit of an edge over it’s counterparts in nearby Shoreditch or Hoxton. Decorated in(what is now a very standard) shabby chic style, gorgeous mirrors adorn the two walls of El Ganso(the other two being more open-ish, since the restaurant is in a corner unit). The pulpo is definitely the star attraction in the tapas portfolio. But instead of coming with boiled potatoes, the twist features a potato purée with some other flavourful bits. The squid ink risotto was the only plate that was perhaps a bit lacking(in salt mostly) in flavour, but we can condone that. Will go back again, very soon!

Had dinner here with two friends mid-week. I booked a table in advance, which was a good thing as it was full when we arrived. We had a table on the pavement/front, so luckily it wasn’t raining. There was a nice range of dishes on the menu. We ordered some olives and Manchego cheese to snack on whilst we chose and ordered the meatballs, croquettes and chicken paella with a bottle of white wine. All were fine but something was slightly amiss. I can’t put my finger on what but the food didn’t really set the world alight. The waiter was incredibly over friendly, kind of reminded me of someone you would be served by in somewhere like Tenerife. Even thought it was busy he wouldn’t leave us alone, «drink top ups? More to eat? More drinks? Shots? Where are you from?» …It would have been more enjoyable if he just left us alone.

This is THE place for a Saturday morning breakfast amidst the wonder that is Broadway Market. If you’re looking to get out of the various stalls and actually sit down to eat, do nothing else than head here. It’s a really nice and comfortable tapas bar that has an amazing selection of breakfast and brunch options. Firstly though, the coffee is nothing but a wonder. Really authentic espressos are churned out of an amazing coffee machine behind a bar that’s covered in ageing meats. Truly epic. After some deliberation I went for eggs benedict with a side of smoked salmon and a huge field mushroom. It’s certainly made to order with only the freshest ingredients hitting the plate. The eggs sat on some thick cut sourdough toast that was soft and had avocado complimenting it. Win. Added to the food is the service and it’s just as dope as what comes out the kitchen. Really nice staff that sat down with us and had a real nice laugh with us. They obviously know the menu inside and out and were able to take us through all the various options available. Truly a great experience and worth poking your head in. Still got to get back here for dinner now.

I didn’t want to do anymore Unilocaling because i recently decided not to give away my intellectual property for someone else’s financial gain, but I had such a delightfully horny dining experience at this place I had to break my rule. The pork belly was on point(i.e. fatty, salty and crispy). The tuna tartare was more bountiful than nikki minaj’s ass. My beer glass was frosted. The staff was easy to talk to(despite the spanish language barrier). The price was right. The ambiance was comfortingly homely. And on top of all that, they brought me and my guest a heated cognac on the house at the end of our meal. If i had to ask for anything else out of this service it would be the surely unreasonable request for a blowjob. Seriously good work guys, it will be my new London date spot.
