Large bar which opens up at the front, nice touch in warm weather. There is a table tennis table that you can use in an undelivered area. Bar choice is large with some nice real ales and a variety of lagers plus proper cider. They also wines and cocktails some cocktail creations are on display. Never eaten here but menu for gluten free is limited although some specials do appear to be gf. Service is slow Sunday night 4 basemen and took over 6 mins to get served. This is not unusual from experience and the only time it is good is when it is extremely busy. They do have piped music and a small TV showing sports. Overall an ok place to go as it does feel safe environment.

On Sunday Funday, I can usually be found seeking out a delicious eggs benedict or florentine. While killing time before heading to the airport in the afternoon, we decided to hit«The Cow» for some brunch/lunch fare. I was thrilled upon seeing both on the menu — when that happens I am always very conflicted(For conflict resolution — see«Little Collins» review), and well, that was just conflict number 1… The BF ordered at the bar — he was gone for a while and upon returning rather huffily, informed me that it took no less than 3 people to take our very simple order(1 cheeseburger, 1 eggs benedict). One guy took the order and promptly forgot it, another guy started to take it and then got distracted by something shiny and finally a nice woman successfully took the order. The food arrived in reasonable time and the gorgeous, creamy, golden hollandaise — oh wait, sorry, I was imagining what I WOULD have wanted. The curdled-looking-basically-just-melted-butter on top of the eggs was anything but appetizing but in actuality, didn’t taste that bad(how can melted butter taste bad?). I delicately split the first egg, anticipating the apex of any eggs benedict lover’s morning: lava-like golden yolk cascading on to a generous helping of pork, making its way to the crispy English muffin base. Reader, the experience could not have been more anticlimactic. I sawed into a completely solid egg, rewarded only with scummy egg water, which subsequently soaked through my formerly toasted English muffin. Now I know I’ve complained a lot up to this point, but the pork stole the show here. It was plentiful and full of flavour and damn near saved this dish(which I managed to eat in it’s entirety, despite solid eggs, soggy bread and shitty hollandaise). Despite earlier signs of questionable service, a server actually checked back with us and I informed him of the sub-par hollandaise, to which he offered to get me something else or replace it, which I declined. He did, however, give me another cup of tea on the house which was very kind and appropriate. So conflicts abound — how to rate The Cow? The food has the potential to be really good but the level of basic culinary knowledge missing is evident — you don’t need to be Gordon Ramsey to know to drain a poached egg? The service also had some stumbles but since I can’t give a 2.5, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and go with a 3⁄5 for now, Cow.

Quick service. Outdoor section with heaters. Has a friendly vibe. Happy faces all around. They play music. Not to loud so can happily chat. Sol beer and cider about £8.5

As it’s the only«pub» in Westfield’s now i only go there because of the location. There’s not really an atmosphere. The seating is set up really awkwardly. And uncomfortable. It also includes one of my biggest pet peeves — the female toilets are upstairs! This is never fair. Women wear heels. AND if you do sit on the 1st floor, you’re stuck having to carry drinks up from the bar on the ground floor. The cider on tap is pretty nice though. BRINGBACKTHECALF(’twas a sister pub they had on the main bit during, and just after, the Olympics)

I really like this pub. I’ve been on many occasions now and like the layout of the place, the atmosphere and it’s location. It is a little expensive but that’s to be expected in Westfield so I font really mind. There is a nice seating area outside for smokers and sunny days. However, one thing that annoys me and is the reason I am only giving the Cow three stars is the staff. Going by the staff, the pub should be called the Lazy Cow. They are so slow and unorganised! It seems like you are waiting ages to get a drink, and most of the time you do not get served in order of first come first served. Some of the staff also spend time just chatting to each other when there are lots of people waiting to be served. The pub is really nice though and I will continue to go there. I just always keep my fingers crossed that the staff will pull their fingers out, or be replaced by people who actually want to do well in their job.

Very nasty — no ambience inadequate seating with a peculiar bench with a table which prevented you putting your feet anywhere — I felt space was grudgingly allotted. It was chilly, noisy and badly lit. The décor was ugly and the whole thing looked done on the cheap. The food did not smell appetising.

Reading the other reviews(and seeing the photos) I think the menu has completely changed. If you’re going for a solid British roast, or a meaty snack sized meal(pulled meat trencher/burger), then this place is top! The only fault is the service which both times I’ve been there has been very slow and non existent. Thankfully I never go when I’m in a rush. I like hands off waiters, but it was a little too hands off. Nice building and room.

Going to this place during the Olympics is extremely tough. I just went there for a beer in between events and it was extremely packed. I would recommend it, but only when it is not busy. Personally I don’t enjoy packed and busy places, so for me this its not a good place. But if you like that vibe and good beers, then this is a good place for you. Especially if you need to kill some time in between events.

A busy pub among the materialistic heaven that is Westfield mall. Who said there is a recession going on, because I don’t see it! I got in a little late and had to order quickly and this menu was rather limited in terms of veg options so I opted for the classic fish and chips. Deep fried, massive, and alright tasting. Tasteless mashed peas. whoever came up with that anyways. you crazy brits! I had a bottle of nice Belgian beer and the service was actually good.

I suppose Geronimo should be applauded for finding a way to lure me into the middle of a shopping centre in a manner that didn’t involve a woman. Some very good beers here. Big Chief. I mean c’mon! Like the swirling hell dimension that surrounds it though, this mouse trap is crawling with lots of other rodents that just couldn’t resist. Packedheavingwhere’s my thesaurus?

Not bad for a pub situated in the middle of the Westfield shopping madness. It has three levels with a bar on the ground floor, comfy seats(and a fire!!) on the first floor, and more seats and a restaurant at the top, with nice views over Stratford(well…as nice as the view can be in Stratford; we could see Canary Wharf.) The staff seemed friendly, if a little dappy. We ordered two burgers, one medium-rare and one rare… the waitress checked with us, before giving us the wrong plates. Ah well. The burgers weren’t bad… but I don’t really think they were worth £11. Maybe I have just been spoilt by my recent visit to ‘Meat liquor’,( ) but they didn’t even compare! It was cosy, filling and a good way to escape the crowds of New Year bargain-hunters at Westfield. Oh! and they love bad puns, the special’s board said ‘happy moo year’ *groans*

Expansive venue with abundant seating throughout. This review is in regards to the dining experience. Food isn’t great I’m afraid to report. The cow pie was bland and unexciting, paired with a clump of unwieldly steamed vegetables. The peas and mash were served in a glass jar for some reason. The portion size doesn’t warrant its listing under the«Bigger Plate» section of the menu. All too gimmicky for my taste. The Thai chicken, too, was much too bland and, puzzlingly, arrived with naan. Naan is Indian, the curry is Thai. The incongruence made me a bit angry. Perhaps the kitchen was counting on the excessive application of coconut milk to distract from the poor quality of food. I felt that the service was a bit slow and sporatic in the restaurant, with no discernable wait stations divided amongst the waiters.
