After a day spent travelling across London our tired little feet brought us here! It’s a cosy, arty looking café with a fabulous atmosphere! I ordered a mojito to go with my sandwich, both were delish! I liked the strange plastic dinosaurs balanced on top of tea cups, the counter full of pick a mix and the ‘garden room’. Stayed a bit longer and had some cake too! Spent a small fortune but it was worth it!

The experience at the Haberdashery was overall positive. The place is very cosy and tastefully decorated, most notably the garden. It’s one of those places that one would have defined as «hipster» if the term hadn’t become so inclusive that even big companies such as Starbucks fit in it. The offer of home-made/natural cuisine makes the difference. The menu was diverse but schematic, including all the typical breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea options. It isn’t specially cheap — with an average of 8 pounds per dish — but neither expensive considering the size of the dishes. I had the soup of the day — 5 pounds, mushroom in this case, which is one of my favourites. Being picky, it was slightly disappointing. And the excess of oil — extra virgin — is to blame. It increased the bitterness of the dish in a way I found unpleasant. The mushroom and red peppers bread that accompanied the soup would have been an interesting choice on its own but it resented the combination: is was a reiteration of mushrooms and oil. Finally the service was likeable but it was easy to see how the waiters and waitresses were a bit overwhelmed by the excess of clients, it was Sunday so that could be the reason. Hiring more staff would probably help to improve the efficiency of the service.

I used to come here a lot. It’s probably one of the first cafes to surface in the area of this affluent area. I do like it but be warned whether you are fine with it or not, it’s regularly used by the pram brigade(mother and baby). It can appear crowded because of this. That’s not to say service and food is not good, it is good, but it’s not a place to relax in.

Came here for lunch one day. It’s a very cute place and food is nice, but not stellar. I had a very nice and hearty portioned salad, savoury muffin served in a flowerpot and a hot chocolate. I wasn’t keen on the hot chocolate but everything else was nice. Service was slow, we had to ask when our food was coming even though they weren’t that busy. Very nice location and very nice café, just wasn’t my kind of place, perhaps a bit too pretentious and yummy mummy for me!

we love this place for brunch — its really lovely, quaint and has great, speedy service. The food is always great(I always have eggs benny!) and my boyfriend has a healthy juice which he loves. It’s super busy and you often have to wait for a table but it’s worth it.

Very cute little place that offers a good amount of lunch and breakfast items. Order one of their fresh juices for a good start to your day, as well as one of their many pastries. I had the veggie breakfast and it was fresh as well as tasty.

Nice brunch, if a slight bit small /overpriced. Very good coffee and fresh juices. Will certainly be making a trip back next time I’m in the area.

seems like a nice cozy place but… where do they get the prices from? for a small cup of a flat white with curdled milk and a piece of a very average cake, I paid over £7! didn’t expect that. sorry but this is far too much for this sort of quality. I don’t mind paying as long as the coffee is superb and the cake scrumptious and melts in your mouth. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Next time I’m in any coffee shop, I’m asking for the price before ordering anything. anyway, shouldn’t they write the prices up?

Cute café in Crouch End adorned with bunting & cakes. Came here for a coffee date with friends. I had the Italian hot chocolate– and it was lovely. It was nice to have real hot chocolate that was not made from powder & water. This hot chocolate tasted like something you actually would get from Italy– very rich and creamy. They serve the coffees & hot chocolates in big bowl like mugs– slightly awkward to drink out of at first but you get used to it. Definitely value for money. One friend had the latte which he really enjoyed and the other & the«Glastonbury Juice” — he said was quite bitter. Service could have been a bit more friendly here. If I came here again– I would choose the Italian Hot Chocolate as was my favourite!

I love this place, it’s one of my favorite coffee places to go. The décor is amazing(I’m totally into vintage teacups and pots) and the staff are so friendly. Every time I walk in the artwork on the walls change and they sell the cutest owl tea cosys you have ever seen. I used to get the hot chocolate, which comes in a bowl and tastes like heaven. I usually got a muffin to go with this, so I could dip it into the bowl. The muffin came in a sort of plant pot(a clean one, no soil added so don’t worry) and was baked… it was kind of like bread, but flavoured with cinnamon and apple, or other flavourings if they hadn’t already sold out. But after buying this order a couple of times a month I have proceeded to grow my belly, so had to stop. I’ve also dragged my friends in here and had cocktails at 1pm(we were hungover, and needed a boost). The cocktails were amazing — they had bloody Mary’s and I had a Mojito. It cured us enough to have two more. They also support the community with events such as Barboot and hold exhibitions(the next one they are holding is Women in Crouch End). I do tend to avoid this place on a late Saturday/Sunday Morning/early lunchtime as it gets very busy, noisy and a little crowded. Best time is to go is on a weekday.

Having visited The Haberdashery on many occasions we have always been pleasantly satisfied although the owner is slightly hectic. However, on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 we decided after seeing the lovely display of cakes in the window we would pop in. On walking through the door it was obvious that it was extremely busy, a waitress approached with whom i believe to be the owner hot on her heels, we then found oueselves being informed in no uncertain terms that if we where not prepared to order lunch then a table was out of the question. We understand that lunch time is a busy period but we where not even given the opportunity to look at the menu or given maybe a later time to call back. So in a nutshell we felt as two adults dismissed and will not be returning. in my opinion the attitude and customer service is extremely poor.

very concerned about Binjis review above. I dont know the person. But why was s/he banned? Was it as s/he feared as with a friend with a disability/What going on here? Lets look beyond the vintage charm and ease of Crouch end denizens and see if theres real stigma here beyond the cakes and tea. This would be put me off. I am always worried when people are banned from places cause they dont fit in.

Had a very quick visit as my gf had heard place was very good. Website says they have been nominated for various awards. Was very nice, our server was very friendly and informative. We had a brownie and hot chocolates. All v nice, hot chocolates v large and in something resembling a mini bowl. Fuller review once I’ve been back.

You have to love the Haberdashery. They proudly have a chalk board sign outside stating that ‘unattended children will be given espresso and free kittens’. The owners have made such a lovely effort to be child friendly and you can’t complain when random toddlers creep up behind you and start staring at your food, or your hungover brunch is interrupted by screaming kids. You know you are clearly getting into yummy mummy Crouch End territory zone when you go in. Busy on a Sunday, but we managed to get a table really quickly. The staff are lovely and accommodating, The décor is twee, cute and pretty. They do lots of delicious brunch fayre, but the best thing of all is they serve Viennese thick hot chocolate served in huge bowl size mugs. It’s like having hot chocolate soup. The Haberdashery also serves as a bit of a community hub. They have lots of fliers for local events pinned up on the walls, a drinks license, and run ‘Barboot’ craft sale once a month on Friday. The owners have even created a ‘Crouch End’ charity calender to raise money for the local community in the London riots aftermath. How could you fail not to love them?

Great place on Middle Lane, just south of the clock tower in CE. The home baked goods are the best I’ve had in the area, inventive recipes and daily changing menu of muffins, brownies, sponge cakes etc. The hot food is very good, the veggie breakfast is excellent(good quality ingredients and portions) the coffee is very good(but possibly the most expensive coffee in the area also). Great place, try it.

Having heard good things about this quirky little café through our ex-neighbours, I simply had to go and try it out. And… I really like it: the atmosphere, the 20’s music(or ist it 30’s), the vintage décor, the warm colour-scheme, the friendly staff and especially the food. I came here on a Saturday morning and I barely got a seat — having just been to the Virgin Active gym nearby, I was quite hungry and so I took this as an opportunity to sample their menu. My favourite dish was a salad composed of broad beans, lambs lettuce and pancetta… yummy! As I was by myself, I was busy people-watching and let me tell you… all the customers were smiling, which in return made me enjoy my first visit to the Haberdashery even more… Well done!

This is probably one of the cutest coffee shops in North London, though is so much more than just coffee. They have a great breakfast and brunch menu. We had a full English(that’s what we had a craving for that day) and the food was amazing, decent quality sausages, homemade hash-browns etc. All for about £7, which for the quality and size was good value. Inside they have some original artist work for sale on the walls and about 10(?) tables and couple out front on the road. Though there a great little patio/garden which has enough seats for 20(?) people, which is a great little sun trap. The whole place is full of great little cute things and attention to details with a great menu and staff. Perfect for a a mid-week brunch or a casual weekend pastry.

Had brunch with my boyfriend here over Easter weekend. We both really enjoyed it. This place also makes for good people watching – if you sit facing the outside, tourists will stop and stare at the cakes sitting in the window. When we were there the place was nearly full and seating is densely packed, but table turnover seems quick enough so we didn’t have to wait. Clientèle seems to consist of young couples and yummy mummies. I had the Eggs Benedict with Salmon. When I first saw the Eggs Benedict I was a little disappointed because there was a lot of empty space on my plate, but this was also a tall dish so it ended up being really tasty and filling. Boyfriend had veggie breakfast(includes spinach, mushrooms & halloumi cheese). He liked his food and wished this place was nearer to where we lived. If you’re in the mood for a boozy brunch, they also have beer, wine, and cocktails including bloody marys.
