It’s very rare that a restaurant is consistently good visit after visit but this is one that I can’t fault. The food is good value and always tasty(love the gyoza and duck salad) and the staff are so so friendly. Always accommodating and they try and seat you f you haven’t booked. It does get very busy though so is recommend booking. The brownie is heaven by the way so definitely give it a go! The wine selection is good as well and the staff are good at recommendations if you can’t decide. The servings are generous as well so you won’t leave feeling hard done by!

I’ve been here a few times with different groups– the first as a party of 10 for a work lunch, the second a trio of ladies for a work lunch, and the third with a friend for an evening meal. When on a timer this place can take longer than you’d like to serve you– the first and second visits we were the only ones in the restaurant(early lunch) and it still took 20 minutes for staff to appear and take our food order. When you’re on an hours lunchbreak this is pretty detrimental to time keeping. In its defense though, this isn’t really somewhere you go for a quick lunch so I’m not holding this against it too much. Saying that, the food here is good and I’m a fan of their cocktails(the ‘apple strudel’ is delicious!). The location is in a quiet side lane away from bustling crowds and traffic, but is immediately next to a college where teenagers hangout and can be are pretty noisy– however once you’re inside you soon forget they’re there. The evening meal was better– no concern for time, and I have to compliment the waitresses as my friend had turned vegan for Lent and they were very knowledgeable about what she could eat and even made several suggestions for nice alternatives for her to try, which she was very grateful for. Overall I like this place, and will likely go again– in the evening ;)

Another cute restaurant in marylebone area of London. Portions were a little on the small side, but very tasty and well presented.

One of the even more upmarket restaurants in the small Brinkley Chain. Clean and modern surroundings, open kitchen and friendly staff. I had a pork chop here with mash and some crispy onion ring things that are actually an accompaniement for something entirely different. An excellent lunch and not hugely expensive for this part of town.

I went here with my husband for a nice lunch with no kids. We shared the chicken caesar and the mezze plate which were both great. The atmosphere was very local as its off the beaten path from the dreaded Oxford street and even off of Marleybone High Street. There was a large group of women celebrating something, drinking lots of white wine and champagne. I look forward to returning with some girlfriends to do the same.

Horrible food slap dash service, greasy, expensive, brown sauce on my lamb, yuck, just spent £167 on dinner, should have gone to McDonalds. Avoid. Nice location.

I can’t resist calves liver if I see it on a menu. Does that make me weird? That’s okay, I’m willing to accept the weirdo status if I get to keep eating liver at places like the Union Café. I phoned ahead for a reservation a week in advance(no online booking which is mildly annoying) and it was a good thing I did as they virtually never have a table available for walk-ins. Even by 10 pm on Thursday night most of the tables were still full. It’s quickly obvious why: the food is delicious. We had the parma ham with mozzarella and figs to start which was nicely arranged on the plate. Skip ahead to the liver. Ah-maz-ing! First, it was perfectly cooked — not overdone. Second, it came with these amazing sage leaves which were crunchy. I spent about 5 minutes just marveling at them until I deduced that they had been flashed in a deep fryer. Paired with mashed potatoes and spinach plus a tasty reduction, I wanted this meal to go on for ever and ever. And in case liver isn’t your bag, everything else we ordered was equally great, including the burger and the lamb. Definitely a must try, just make sure you phone ahead for a reservation. I’m already trying to figure out when I can go back.

The Union Café is a bit tucked away, and in an area I don’t visit too often. Any excuse will do to come here, though. It’s a lovely little place with a really friendly atmosphere. A few weeks I joined the ladies-who-lunch-brigade for a relaxed business meeting. Lovely food, nice wine, friendly staff. It was on one of these rare summer heat wave days, and it was lovely and cool without being freezing. The name is a bit of an understatement, though, it’s more a restaurant than a café.

This restaurant is fantastic. I went there with a girl friend for a pre– christmas meal and it was great. The food is fresh and of a very high standard the menu changes often although its not too extensive there is bound to be something for everyone, and the wine is just as good. We were there on an evening with lots of christmas parties but the service was still great. This place is too good to just pop in and have a quick bite to eat, make a night of it and take the time to enjoy the great tates and flavours its quite popular so you may need to book too. Its fairly expensive but its well hidden in central london so you’re not paying tourists rates you’re definatly paying for quality.
