Me gustó este lugar. Buena pasta. UN clásico. Volveré siempre que quiera italiano clásico.

Sent here by the front desk staff at the Alvear Art. A good thing they called ahead, it’s popping on a Monday night at 9 p.m.
We started with a burrata plate, which came with arugula and prosciutto. Combined with the house bread basket, it made a sufficient starter for 3. The burrata was superb and in great condition.
Onto our mains, a black pasta with seafood in a cream sauce, and a ragu of lamb with risotto wowed. I was a little less impressed with my noquis (gnocchi) in tomato sauce, which was good, but pretty standard.
Service was professional, the waiters remind me of the old pros at Smith and Wollensky.
Too stuffed for dessert, we leave at 11, folks are still coming. Wish I had plumped for the cannelloni.

Piegari es un restaurante ubicado en La Recova que se especializa en pastas, aunque en su menú ofrecen varias opciones de carnes, pescados, entre otros. En el mismo lugar tienen otro local que es especialmente de carnes. La ambientación es muy linda, las mesas son cómodas y la atención es óptima.
Es caro, bastante caro, pero se come realmente bien. Las porciones son abundantes y en cuanto a pastas, vienen llenisimas de salsa. Las pastas rellenas vienen BIEN rellenas y todo es de calidad y riquísimo.
Tienen una amplia carta de postres. Las entradas para compartir son demasiado caras. Tenes la opción de pedir una porción individual en donde, teniendo en cuenta la abundancia de los principales, pueden comer 2 personas.
Recomiendo este lugar para ocasiones especiales en donde tenes que quedar perfecto con una o más personas, y tenes tu billetera cargada.

Uno de los mejores lugares para comer pasta. Las carnes son muy buenas tambien!
El precio por plato no es barato pero las porciones son bastante grandes, hasta para compartir. Tienen una buena variedad de vinos y te invitan con una copa de champagne al llegar. Ubicación es ideal para los turistas ya que esta en frente del Four Seasons.

The food is pretty good, but the portions are pretty big. The atmosphere is nice, since there are modern pieces of art hanging everywhere. I would highly recommend ordering the fresh pasta over the dry pasta, and it’s almost time the same price. Over all, it’s a good restaurant to go to on a night that you have time, since the service isn’t the fastest.

La mejor pasta del mundo!!!
Le gano a mi abuela. Eso si que es difícil.
Esos ñoquis a la cirocco (espinaca, crema y queso) estaban espectaculares.
Probé un poco de ravioles de cordero y la salsa de crema y champignones era de otro planeta.
Toda la pasta es para deleitar acá, aunque la carne argentina dicen que es muy buena.
Nos sentaron en mesa de 4. No había de a 2. En la mesa había salero (preferible que no, estan condimentados a la perfección)
Un amor los mozos. Nos trataron como en ningún otro lado. Así si dan ganas de volver.
El postre estaba riquísimo pero no lo disfrutamos tanto por lo llenls que estábamos. Limón a la crema con salsa de frutos rojos y merengue

Best Italian in BA. Excellent food! Fresh and simply delicious. Had a lamb filled ravioli With fungi white sauce and it was amazing! My boyfriend had a ravioli bolognese kindly suggested by the waiter and it tasted fresh and seasoned to perfection.

Me habían dicho que este lugar tenían muy buenas pastas y fui.
El salón amplio bien familiar y con una hermosa muestra de cuadros de Milo Lockett.
Pedí la Ensalada Recova (Palta, queso de cabra, tomate, espinaca), porción abundante y con verduras super frescas la cual aderezamos con aceite de oliva.
Y luego uno de los platos clásicos del lugar el Risotto primavera.
Todos los platos se pueden compartir!!! Por lo cual hace que no resulte caro como uno piensa.
No podía terminar sin algo dulce pedí Merengata (Frutilla, crema, helado y merengue)

Debo decir que esperaba más en cuanto a las pastas en un lugar como Piegari. Creo que vive de glorias pasadas y debería mejorar su juego. Para los platos que ofrecen y la ejecución que tienen, los precios no se condicen.

I hate to write a review while I’m still in the restaurant but I’m so disgusted right now that I needed to write before the feeling passed. My entrée is still in front of me so there’s time to perhaps elevate my meal however, while I’m sitting here trying to enjoy my meal three restaurant employees presumably management are planning the next menu and deciding what to order from their vendors for next week’s order. One of them even has a laptop completely open! You would expect this at a small ‘hole in the wall’ but this is supposed to be fine dining! They have white tablecloths and the restaurant name on the plates for crying out loud!!! So disappointed because this place came highly recommended but they should know better! Shame on you Piegari! (I would’ve given them two stars but the food was/​is really good and the waiter is a sweetheart but…) WOULD NOT COME BACK. (Amendment: just had the Limonata for dessert and it is going down as the best dessert I’ve had on this trip — I’ve been to six cities in 5 countries over the course of 2.5 weeks… Every single meal eaten at a restaurant… Lemon custard, vanilla ice cream, meringue ‘croutons’ and fresh blueberry sauce… There. Is. A. Dessert. God.)

Decent food, intiminating greeting.
This restaurant is next to the Four Seasons where I am staying. It’s sister is across the street and is mainly a steak place which I would give 4 stars. This is Italian.
When I arrived, the restaurant was empty. The greeter tried to put me into a table that was by the door and unsuitable. I pointed to another which he said was reserved.
I watched the ball headed greeter throughout the meal. He was never welcoming to anyone. He must be family member or the owner. Often times he was downright rude.
The food was good but not great.
I was the only non Argentine in the place which has a nice décor. This place needs a course on being charming and welcoming. I will not be going back but I will to it’s sister by the same name.
The «reserved» tables were still empty when I left.

Love this place. Our first night in Argentina and we accidentally stumbled upon this place– one word: Amazing. We had an assortment of dishes from the spider crab crêpe to the ravioles verdes de ricota to the lomo de champignon and each was better than the first. Definitely recommend this place to everyone!

Si queres romper el chanchito anda a Piegari, jajaj. Es un lugar para una ocasión especial, celebrar un aniversario o si tenes gente de afuera y queres quedar muy bien.
En su carta tiene todos los platos clásicos, y de verdad es variadisima. Aunque todo es bueno, inclusive su carne, recomiendo en especial los pescados y pastas. No se pierdan el salmón a la plancha con espinacas a la crema, o las gambas al ajillo.
Tienen una muy buena carta de vinos, son caros pero buenos. Y sus helados son de Freddo, calidad garantizada.
Mi crítica es que las mesas están muy juntas, no llegan a estar encimadas pero bastante cercanas.
Fuimos varias veces a comer y no te cansas, es de esos lugares que nunca te vas a ir disconforme.
Conviene reservar.
