I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, the location, and the ambiance. So much so that I went back again in my one week stay in Paris. If you’re looking for fast service, look elsewhere though. For that matter, look outside Paris. I noticed most of the negative reviews are from my fellow North Americans. Relax people, wind down and don’t feel so rushed to get in and out — you’re missing the point of Paris.

We were hungry and decided on this café since there was an outside patio. The only problem is that we’re not«Paris skinny»…lol…so the seating was a little cozy. The waiter was working the whole sidewalk pretty much by himself. The Heinekens were on happy hour and there was a steak special so we ordered both. There was a collection of street entertainment that performed in the street and lots of people walking by. Everything came out quickly, and the steak was tender. The sauce that came with was delicious and the fries were nice and crispy. It was the perfect snack. We decided to walk around some more and have dessert elsewhere. We asked for the check. Apparently their credit card machine wasn’t working so we had to pay in Euros. I didn’t want to leave the money on the table, so we got up and went inside, but the waiter came out from the other door and I think thought we ran out on the bill. LOL! When we came back out, and gave him the money, he wasn’t too thrilled. Oh well… I did leave him a little extra anyways, yeah, I know I didn’t have to. I would come back again if in the area.

What a dissapointing meal! I ordered a chicken lunch, and I can easily say I have not had such dry, overcooked, OLD!!! chicken in years if ever. The meal they served me must have sat under the heat lamp since the day before. French not being my first language, I was afraid to complain(something I very rarely do), but I certainly should have. My wife enjoyed her salmon, although it wasn’t ‘very good’, just ‘good’. The atmosphere was fine. So was the service, but they get one star from me. Check the reviews in French, and you’ll see almost all have had experiences like mine.

I had lunch there with my family. Service was very slow and the waiters were quite impolite. Food quality was poor, except for the hamburgers. We order chicken wings for entrée. They were ok. Then, almost one hour later we got our main dishes. Hamburgers were ok. Croque Madame was not good, too much sauce-cheese topping. The Cesar salad wasn’t really fresh and it lacked sauce. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you are short of time or if you are looking for variety and freshness!

Feria Café caught our attention because the restaurant advertised having tapas. The hubby and I are such suckers for tapas so we thought we’d give it a shot. We really didn’t see tapas on the menu per se but we had such a lovely experience with the nicest waiters around! We ordered the risotto, a side of fries, red wine for the hubby, a coffee for myself and then finished it off with their decadent chocolate lava cake. Bread and oil accompanied our meal — something I can’t get enough of while in Paris. Everything was fantastic — we were extremely satisfied with our food but the best part about our experience was by far the service. We chatted it up quite a bit with a number of the wait staff and when they found out we were from the US, they did such an amazing job giving is tips about where to go in Marais and also were extremely interested and attentive about us liking the food. Feria Café is highly recommended by us. Great night vibe, packed restaurant and bar, and such nice people working here.
