So I got their takeaway service a few weeks… …foldover pizza was lovely but way overpriced for the size of it, and the calamari was not fresh at all and served appaulingly with the sauce thrown in on top of it. I could have gotten around this as they are mainly a sit-in restauranr, but the main issue I had and dropped it from to a maybe order 3 star to a never ever ever again was the customer service. Took an hour to reach my house — I live within a 3 minute drive from Rathgar village based on Bushy Park Road — and when I called them up on it they were insanley rude and on top o that they forgot to bring my dessert which I had paid for already, which I was told would be delivered and never was. sorry but in my book stay away there are far nicer local restaurants who deserve our patronage!

The best restaurant I have ever been to in Ireland since I live there. The staff is so friendly, the atmosphere is great and it makes you feel like you are in Italy. The foods are all amazing: the pizza are very very big for the price, and it is clear that everything is homemade(which doesn’t seem to be the case in most of the restaurants in Dublin), the desserts are awesome, very subtil, and their presentation is really beautiful and artistic. Perfect!!!

Restaurant states on their menu that they serve gluten free. I found this to be technically true, they had Penne pasta available but that was it. None of the Pizzas, lasagne, etc., is gluten free. Otherwise, pretty standard sub-urban italian food. Bolognaise was passable, nothing special. Service was good and very friendly.

Don’t worry Simon Cowell’s operatic pop group of the same name have not decided to open a restaurant! I first noticed noticed Il Divo when I was looking to order takeaway online. I was immediately drawn in by the fried calamari fritti, which I have to say is one of my favourite ‘starters’ on an Italian food menu. Then when I saw that they had my favourite pasta, gnocchi,(how could one not love a pasta that is combined with potato?), I was hooked. When I realised that the gnocchi in fact came with cheese I was even more excited! If you’re not a huge pasta fan, they’ve also got meat dishes and grilled dishes as well as a pretty good selection of pizzas. Admittedly, the price is a bit more than a Chinese, but it’s a welcome change from the usual takeaways and best of all they also deliver wine and beer with your order! Double bonus!
