Lunched here today with no.1 who is 6 and decided we should have a lunch date for valentines. He wanted italian so I picked because it was open at 12.45 on a Sunday and was handy! The boss ordered garlic bread, not on the menu and asked for spaghetti bolonaise(even though it was penne) on the menu, both of which were agreed to without hesitation by the friendly waiter. I had a delicious fresh crab starter that was served with gluten free bread and I had the chicken supreme which came with sauted spinach and roast potatoes, really tasty. The kid ate every scrape of his food which is unheard of and we shared a ridiculously large portion of ice cream for dessert. Really friendly staff that could not have made more effort to make us feel welcome, despite being very busy with 2 large groups today.

I don’t understand why this place is rated so badly. My three stars is more of a 3.5, just not quite a 4. I was hesitant to say the least as a result of the reviews of past customers, but I have to say, these guys need to re-review. It’s really a very lovely spot. We visited early on a Sunday evening and so were able to avail of their early bird which is excellent value.(I wouldn’t be happy paying full price for the mains here which were all very much on the pricey side) But, as I said, early bird, great value. They also allowed one of our party to swap in one of the pizzas and still be part of the deal which was really great and is often not the case with a lot of restaurants. I took a picture of my starter as it was so freaking amazing. Goat’s cheese with various sauces and garnishes. Absolutely delicious. For mains I had the chicken supreme with veg and roast potatoes which was a bit of a let down after the starter. Don’t get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with it, but it was a little greasy and the flavours weren’t really there that I was expecting. Overall, the service is what won this place over for me. Every one of the waiters was friendly, accommodating, and professional. If I lived in the area, I would definitely go back.

Totally over-priced for very basic food. We had an anti-pasta for Eur 10.50 which consisted of 2 small slices of parma ham, 2 small salami, a piece of artichoke and courgette. I could have made the same for 50c. We were offer no bread, so had to ask seperately. For mains we had steak with pepper sauce for 25 eur and ravioli for 16 – 18. The pepper sauce as it was truly awful so was left behind. Steak was ok but small and definately not worth 25 eur. Ravioli was greasy and unattractive. With 1 bottle of wine and coffees cost 100 eur. I would not recommend as quality is poor and prices are similar to what you can get for early bird in very good restaurant

Been here a couple of times and it seems to have gotten a bit better. We’ve always found the food decent enough but the service was lacking on earlier visits. They have high chairs and its fairly noisy so a good place to bring a toddler!

When my friend first said, hey do you want to go to Bellagio? I jumped with joy, really you want to go to Vegas! I love the Bellagio! It’s so nice and they’ve got so many great restaurants, and that cool water ballet show! I was saddened when my friend back to reality and reminded me that we’re in fact living in rainy Dublin and she meant a restaurant in Terenure! I was willing to get over my initial disappointment of not going to Vegas and give Bellagio a chance. We went for the early bird menu which was about € 15 for a starter and a main. I’m not a fan of salmon and it was the main ingredient in not just one, but two of the starters. The choices of mains were rather uninspired choices that were the most basic of Italian dishes. I have to say that I wasn’t really impressed with the food at all and as others have mentioned the service was entirely dismal making it an overall unsatisfactory experience.

I end up going here with the family every so often because my dad really likes the place, although I’m at a loss to know why. The food is what you’d basically expect from an Italian restaurant, pasta pizza and a few meat dishes, and the prices are ok too. The service is where everything falls flat on its arse. I’ve been there at time when the place wasn’t busy and found the wait-staff slow, reluctant to take requests and generally sullen when we asked for anything. Once my brother asked for a steak knife to cut his Pizza with and the waiter argued that his Pizza was already cut(which it wasn’t) and why would he need a steak knife. Obviously the whole ‘customer is always right’ isn’t in the ethos here… we try to talk Dad out of going here now!

Although I’m reluctant to give a local business, especially one so near me a bad review Bellagio wasn’t great the night I visited. It used to be one of the best and busiest restaurants in Terenure giving always packed Mario’s a good run for its money. However its prolonged renovation and reopening has taken the buzz out of the place slightly. The new refurbishment opened the place out more and took out the 1st floor of the original building, this had made the place bigger but also a big colder and empty. I could deal with this if the food hadn’t been so bad that night too. The bruschetta I got was thrown together and the mains not up to much either. It is a pity as this place used to be great and you’d be always guaranteed a good meal and nice night out. This aside they do a good lunch menu for under a tenner. I haven’t had lunch there but I’d be reluctant to go back.
