La Vecchia Taverna

This was about a block off the Duomo and had a Trip Advisor sticker in the window so we decided to try it. The food and ambiance were OK but there are better places to spend your money in Siena. This was a birthday lunch and the host should have researched his Michelin guide for a better option.

We wanted to be away from the crowd something peaceful, in Siena, and found this cozy little corner of the world! Not only we were able to people watch, how the Italians go about their business, didn’t know there was a hidden door entrance to their home, and I can count how many cars or scooters go by, but we were entertained by people with their dogs, children & their parents, and a few tourists, and before you know it, we have a huge crowd of Japanese travelers!
The service was friendly, our order was taken quickly, food was delivered properly, even though we sat outside he would check on us frequently by the server.
The food was very tasty! The only negative was it took awhile to get our bill, we asked a couple of times.
