Same menu as other Boston Pizza franchises and the same price. Service was good, even during a Sunday on a long weekend.

Our server Hannah was great! We had a Mediterranean pizza Mediterranean salad kale salad and cocktails. Although Unilocal reviews were not strong we decided to try Boston’s, we were pleasantly surprised with the quick & friendly service. And the food was really good!

The food better be good because having to wait 30 minutes for a table in a nearly empty restaurant not cool — especially when 2 groups who came in after us(one bigger one smaller) were seated before us.

Service was really good but my steak was burnt, small portion of fries and my girlfriends pulled pork sandwich was dry and a bit cold. We won’t eat here again.

As a Boston Pizza fanatic, I was excited to see Boston Pizza in Banff. Inside the place looks way newer and more modern in design than other Boston Pizza places I’ve been to. The price is also quite easy on the pocket compared to others restaurants around. The meal was great, arrived when we were just about to feel hungry. The downside to this location is the server we had. She was so keen at acknowledging that she is Australian. Normally aussie folks are super nice and caring, i guess she is an exception. She got caught up chatting with another server for at least 30 minutes talking about going to the pub with her boyfriend and friends that night and she is really looking forward to it. At this point, I was very thirsty. She wasn’t even paying attention despite me looking at her. She literally ignored me throughout. She only came back and acknowledged me when I finished my dinner and is pay up time. Instead of tipping, I ordered bottled water and left without me saying a thank you. The meal was very good. Too bad it’s the experience that really breaks a good and a bad visit. Do I recommend going to this place? Yes, but do make the server aware that you need attention. Maybe let her know that whenever you howl, touch your ears or clear your throat that you need her. Otherwise, don’t expect much attention from the server.

The food was seriously underwhelming. The pizza tasted like cardboard. The only redeeming quality was the good service.

So first off understand this is a pizza place in a resort town. The staff turns over frequently and are more interested in partying/snowboarding/hiking than they are in their job. The entrance on Banff Ave is a bit hard to find. The restaraunt is upstairs so there are double doors that lead up some steep stairs to the entrance. Most recently we ordered the Meat Lovers Pizza and some wings. The wings come in serveral different styles(breaded, naked, etc) and also with 10 or twelve differing sauces. We ordered the breaded style with sweet thai sauce. After ordering we went and sat at the bar in the lounge. They have quite a few nice flat screens playing sports, mainly hockey. The bartender was deep in conversation with a friend at the end of the bar and was basically indifferent to us when we said we were just waiting for take out. After about twenty minutes, the hostess came out and told us that the kitchen had cooked the wrong size pizza for us, but that the wings were ready. She asked us if we wanted to have the wings right then and we declined as we want to go back to our hotel and eat. After another 20 mins the pizza and wings appeared. When we got home it was clear the wings had now been sitting for about 50 minutes and were now a mushy mess. The pizza was good, meaty, and a nice cheese on it. The crust was just crispy enough. Next time I would pass on the wings and just go with the Pizza.

Thought I would try lunch at Boston Pizza today. When we walked up I think we knew the service wasn’t going to be great. There wasn’t anyone to greet us do we just walked into the lounge and sat down. The bar gal was pretty busy chatting it up with her friends while they were drinking away their hangovers. While they were talking about how drunk they were last night, we looked around at the Valentine hearts that were not censored. Some of them you felt were from a bathroom wall. I guess the staff doesn’t care. All in all I like Boston Pizza, we liked our lunches, but our server… She kind of sucked!

So the 3.5 stars I’ve giving is in context of being in a tourist town in the middle of a national park. That being said, I really loved this place’s Cajun Shrimp pizza. I usually won’t review chains(and I soon learned during my sojourn in the Canadian Rockies that there is a BP in every town), but I really did like one of their pizzas. My family and I walked up and down Banff Ave, looking for a place we could grab a tasty bite without breaking the bank, and Boston Pizza’s menu caught our eye. While here, we tried the Tropical Chicken pizza, the Tuscan pizza, the Cajun Shrimp pizza, the Fettucini Alfredo with garlic shrimp, and a Cesar salad. Tropical Chicken pizza. ‘Twas okay. The alfredo-on-pizza was a little too much for me, as I’m definitely a tomatoes girl moreso than a cream sauce chick. I’d give this a 2.5 out of 5. Tuscan pizza. I think it would’ve fared much better sans the ginormous chunks of feta cheese on top. The sun-dried tomatoes were also too oily, and should’ve been dispersed in smaller pieces. 2 out of 5. Fettucini Alfredo with a Garlic Shrimp skewe. Ew. I did not like this at all. My own fettucini alfredo made with sauce out of a jar tastes 10x better than this did. I do give it points for the garlic shrimp skewer, but honestly, it’s pretty difficult to mess up garlic shrimp. Unless you forget the garlic, or something, and even then it’s not a complete disaster. 1.5 out of 5. Cesar salad — your average Cesar salad. Nothing special. Cajun Shrimp pizza. Now THIS is what earned my 3.5 overall stars. This pizza was absolutely DELICIOUS. A perfect blend of tomatoes and cheese, the first bite of this was like a party in my mouth. I loved the kick that the cajun shrimp added to it, and the fresh diced tomatoes scattered across the surface definitely wrapped it up like a pretty glittering bow on a Christmas present. Now, being a resident New Yorker, it’d be blasphemous to give this place too high of a rating. As good as it was, it doesn’t hold a candle to Brooklyn pizza. So… 4 out of 5! To wrap it all up, the price(~$ 75 for dinner for six… we ordered the above items over 2 visits to BPs) in comparison to all our other Downtown Banff options, in conjunction with the AMAZING Cajun Shrimp pizza, has earned this venue 3.5 stars from me. :]
