This review is for Dine Out 2016. The Clubhouse had an amazing $ 203-course dinner this year, which is no surprise after the great feedback I heard after last year’s DOV event. The appetizers all sounded appealing from the descriptions on the menu, so it was a tough decision, but I chose the calamari and tomato salad. The flavours of the lemongrass peanut vinaigrette were really vibrant without overpowering the other ingredients. I asked our server which of the main entrées was most popular and she suggested the Jason burger. The description sounded amazing so I decided to go with that. It wasn’t as flavourful as I expected, but it was pretty darn good. The poutine was very good, and the fries were cooked and seasoned perfectly with just a hint of truffle. Delicious! The portion seemed a bit small at first, but I’m glad there wasn’t more because I might not have had room for dessert. Speaking of dessert, my choice was the Apple & Bacon. It was really tasty, but I found the apple compote to be far too sweet for my taste. The salty bacon caramel sauce had zero bacon flavour, but it was still good. The other desserts looked nice, but I’m not big into overly sweet desserts so I didn’t try them. Really great Dine Out experience and I’m looking forward to trying this place for lunch sometime soon.

Despite having been recognized as having the best $ 18 menu in the 2015 Dine Out Vancouver, this place has remained under the radar, possibly because it’s out of the way and not very transit friendly. I can confirm it has a really excellent $ 20 menu for Dine Out Vancouver 2016. Not only tasty food but excellent value at the price — bonus stars for that. It’s a small place, so it can get booked up fully. Last seating is 8pm and for larger groups, I recommend it. Digging in the Garden –I’m guessing the bits that look like dirt is «mushroom crust». –A lot of hummus«aioli» — basically a hummus dip tasty by being on the salty side. –The rest is just nuts and veggies. Use the dip generously or you will have leftover and no spoon or bread to scoop it up. –Overall, looks deceptively simple but tasty if you like their hummus. Flatiron Steak –Strangely, the smallest plate of mains. Steak looked at most 6 oz. Steelhead –Strangely bland but large filet of salmon. –Quite a lot of linguine, which helps to make this a filling plate as a main. Jason Burger –Winner. –Moist patty. Tender bun not in the least soggy after plating. –The description makes it sound much more interesting and stacked that it really was, and maybe more flavourful than it really was — but overall still a really tasty burger. -«Poutine» not overly drenched with salty sauce, which was good. Fries were very good — crispy on the outside for a long time, creamy on the inside. Perfect Confection –Crushed honeycomb candy I guess because I didn’t see anything that looked like a honeycomb. –Fun to see and eat, and refreshing for the sorbet. A very good way to end on a lighter note. Apple & Bacon –Very sweet apple compote at the bottom — definitely pair it with the ice cream. -«Salty bacon caramel sauce» was more like just caramel sauce with tasteless, tiny, bacon bits. Disappointing for not having bacon flavour come through. –Despite lacking in bacon-ness, this was a pretty tasty dessert, if you can handle the sweetness of the apple compote.

Went here for dine out and it was An Amazing value!!! Streak, lamb French onion soup, and delicious salted caramel and apple vanilla crumble! All for twenty bucks. Service was friendly and nice. It was my spouse’s birthday and they allowed us to bring in our own cake without ridiculous cake cutting fees. Plenty of parking and ambience was comfortable and homey with wood accents and tvs. Only drawback was the food took time to come out so we had to be patient. But overall, solid value and nice ambience!
