Morning breakfast is great, Tea have happy hours, I will come again to try. Only $ 6 could have shrimp Gyoza, Nat’s Crispy dry ribs. Sounds great

This White Spot isn’t exactly the best. I’ve been here on numerous occasions since it is so close to where I live, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here. Usually, service is slow. Although you get seated in less than 2 minutes from entering, when you order, your food takes forever to be prepared. The staff are fairly friendly, not too warm, and not too cold either. The food is pretty good here as well; I usually have the Lifestlye Asian Chicken Salad which I would recommend to anyone. However, do not order take-away from this restaurant. Both times I have ordered take-away, the staff have forgotten several things from my order. Be prepared for a hit or miss experience with service.

So, we won a gift certificate for white spot for this location and was almost tempted to give it back, but thought we would give it one more try. Big mistake. Went there for breakfast this time because we have given up on their dinner menu. Everything is going good, the server is very quick and efficient. It was not a busy morning so that probably made the service a little better than normal. Then we got the food. … found a hair on the plate and we didn’t even have to go looking for it. As soon as the plate was put down on the table we noticed it. Big long hair melted into the cheese of the sandwich, how the kitchen staff did not see this before sending it out is beyond me. Now I definitely know that I will never be back to this white spot again!!!

Let’s get the obvious out of the way. This is a review for a White Spot, not a fine dining establishment. That said, I enjoy White Spot quite a bit. Sure it’s mostly nostalgia, but I do enjoy their burgers and tend to rotate between the same two every time I go(BC Bigger Burger and the Monty Mushroom). On a normal day with everything going well, White Spot easily gets a 4 star rating from me. The food almost never disappoints, but rather it’s the service experience that seems to vary wildly from location to location. My last visit to this location left a lot to be desired, and seems to be par for the course here(I’ve been 6 – 7 times). It wasn’t a bad experience throughout the entire meal. We were greeted with a smile and seated within 2 mins of entering. We were asked what to drink, and the server took our orders which consisted of a burger(BC Bigger w/bacon this time), chicken wrap, and a discounted flatbread for their appy hour). All was well until we received the appetizer. It was missing a pretty important ingredient. A pretty obvious ingredient. We called our server over to ask why said ingredient was missing. She apologizes, then proceeds to tell my fiancée and I that«they just ran out». I’m sorry– is this the new benchmark for common-sense serving? The common-sense thing to do is to tell the customer that one of the items they purchased is actually out of an ingredient at the time of the order, so that the customer can change their mind if it was an issue. If someone tried to serve me a burger without a patty and proceeded to tell me that the restaurant ran out of beef, I’d be furious. To be fair, I don’t know if this was a miscommunication between the front-end and the cooks, but that’s still unacceptable. With the time being rather late and my fiancée and I being really hungry, we accepted the appy as is(since there really wasn’t much else to do except make a scene) and went on with our meal. The icing on the cake, however, was that we were charged full price for an appetizer that was missing a major ingredient, and there were no attempts at trying to rectify the issue by the staff working that night. I’m not one to make a scene for a few bucks, so we just left it and practically vowed never to eat in at that location ever again. Take out? Sure– the location is 5 minutes away from my house. But you can count me out when it comes to dining in at this location.

Worst white spot ever. How excited I was when I found out one was opening right by our place in North Burnaby that would have more parking than the one on North Road, and perhaps less wait. You will always manage to get a table right away, but it is downhill from there. I have been there enough times now to say they are consistently THAT slow. If you get H’angry like me, you will not bode well. You might get red in the face and start throwing things while waiting for that waitress who first introduced herself to show up and actually take your order. THEN you will be waiting, and waiting, and waiting(I could have gone back to the kitchen and made my own burger by then) for your food, which hopefully will come out in the fashion that you ordered it in(no mayo on a burger? Is that too much to ask? I am asking for LESS, not MORE! how demanding is that? Also I am paying quite a lot of money for a burger so I don’t think a simple request is asking that much. 50 minutes or so later you might start getting your food, and don’t let the emptiness fool you. It has nothing to do with how busy they are, how complicated or simple your order is, or even whether you were polite or not. I have NO idea why it is so slow, so many months after they have first opened. By the time the food comes you will be scarfing it down like you have been through a famine, and then the waiting game comes for the bill. We were promised the bill, and were waiting so long some manager came by and asked us what we were waiting for. Ironically I was using a gift certificate for prior bad service. I don’t think $ 20 is enough to bring me back.

meh. It’s a white spot. The food is bland and uniformly prepared, and the servers were friendly matronly women who were very attentive to the small children we had with us, which is always a bonus. I don’t hate white spot, but I don’t love it. In a city as diverse and food-amazing as Vancouver is, the only reason I would ever come here is because I don’t feel guilty bringing children(disclaimer: I am not a parent and thus am overly sensitive to loud children in adult environments.) Pirate packs = good. Adult food = barely edible. I’m picky. :P

I just got back from having dinner with the family there was 5 of us there our server was(Jeff) we made our drink order it was fine, we ordered soup before our meals, half an hour later I had to ask for our soup, half way through our soup the meal came ! When u ask for your soup before your meal it shouldn’t come half an hour later also I had to ask for a spoon for my soup which came when my meal came,(not good) one of us had ordered chicken strips an fires he Did not even ask what kind of dipping sauce he wanted, also didn’t even give us ketchup, we had to wait Until he came close enough to ask him for plum sauce and ketchup ! He went to the bar and was just standing there for about 15 minutes we then asked again if the plum sauce is coming he said yeah it’s coming from the kitchen ! 15 minutes for plum sause?(I don’t think so) he also never once asked if we wanted refills ! Food was good but when you get very pore service it doesn’t matter! We asked him for the bill because we needed to go he went to the table behind us an took there order then he walked to the end table an let them pay because he had the debit on him, then he gave us the bill about 15 minutes later we asked for change an he said he would need to grab that for us as he walked to the only other table an let them pay they came after us an left befor us? Rude this is the worst service our table has ever had we have been there about 6 times had a bad exsperance everytime to bad the food is good but service is a 1 out of ten!!! Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

White Spot is a great place to bring the kids. The kids love the Pirate Pack(children’s menu). This particular location is new and it’s very clean. We’ll be back for sure.

Don’t know what the below people are talking about. But here’s my experience: I came here with my family of about 11 people including 4 kids. It was busy but we were seated right away. I think there was a Canucks game going on. We were greeted by our server, young but friendly and courteous. Service was prompt and appropriate. All of our drink and food orders came out correctly and hot. Even with my oh so particular aunt, her order never phased our server. Our server always asked if we needed refills or more fries. The thing about WhiteSpot is that the food never disappoints me, my expectation is always met. The service was great in my case, but I go to restaurants to eat. What I judge by my review is timeliness and how fast they can deliver me my food. Service can be minimal if they deliver the food correctly and timely.

We were very excited when the old ABC was going to turn into a White Spot! We thought we would give them some time to get things sorted before going, I figured a few months was enough right? Wrong. The servers are literally ALL children with no experience, it almost seemed like they were all… related or high school kids working for free/work experience from Burnaby North? Whoever did the hiring should be fired themselves, hire EXPERIENCED people, not how they look or what race they are! Anyways beyond that, the food seemed pretty decent but if you cant serve people properly, the food doesn’t matter that much. The sad part is there isnt much options in the area so theyll still probably do well but everyone I know who has been there agrees with me, HIREOLDERSERVERSTHATKNOWTHEIRSTUFF. We wont be back for another 3 – 4 months, and last time we brought 20 people!
