Been to better Italian restaurants, not one the best and there are better options for food in town IMO, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The food was ok, portion size meh, prices even more Meh, Like I said, overall I would not recommend this place.

Small and cozy trattoria centrally located in downtown Canmore. Good wine list and good handcrafted pasta dishes and pizza with lots of local flair. We had the eggplant stack to start, bison bolognese and sambuca penne. Food and service were great and reservations are a must as there are not many tables(maybe 40 seats?) in the house.

Great lunch! Stopped in here for pizza„ paninis and salads and were pleasantly surprised. The pizza dough was perfectly cooked and crisp– hard to find these days. The eggplant panini was perfectly held together with a deliciously seasoned ciabatta bread-flavours were a great combo! Don’t think we would have stopped in if it wasn’t for the kids, outside of building doesn’t say much.

Awesome Italian Food on Main Street! Their Pizza, Panzerotti and Pasta’s are all fantastic — best place for classic Italian dishes in the Bow Valley. Also a decent wine and beer selection. The price is perfectly reasonable for the food and service provided. It is small and intimate, service is fantastic and friendly — servers are all well informed on the food and wine they are serving as well. The restaurant is clean and well kept with the modern but comfortable décor. The booth by the window offers a bit more privacy and great people watching. Parking can be tricky(street parking) — and I’d recommend making a reservation through the summer and on weekends. Make sure to ask about locals specials too Canmorians!

Great meal at Santa Lucia tonight. Enjoyed a fantastic spinach salad with yummy balsamic vinegar dressing. I had a gluten free penne with bison bolognese sauce. We also had a very tasty lasagne and cannelloni at our table. Service was fine(don’t expect fast.) We were seated right away(Friday night) and our server was pleasant. Large portions were good value for the price.

Although you may walk past this restaurant, it is well worth your while to find it and go in. The service is very good, friendly, amusing. The bruschetta is excellent. Lots of fresh tomatoes, garlic, on extremely fresh bread. The Caesar salad is ok. Torn lettuce is better than what appears to be simply sliced lettuce. The dressing was very good — just enough garlic. Had the fettuccini special. It had lots of wild mushrooms, garlic and oil. The pasta tasted home made. well done! Friends had the lasagna, and the chicken Parmesan. Both large servings which they enjoyed. Very reasonably priced, worth seeking out.

Amazing. Ate here with the kids 2 nights and everything was 100%. The Pizza was amazing(Hawaiian), the Lasagna rich and delicious and the Cannelloni just as well. Next time apart from Pizza we tried the meatballs and Spinach salad which were first rate.

Arrived without a reservation. Apparently that means you will be treated with lots of attitude at this place. Can’t imagine they are doing well in a location that caters to walk in traffic. Get lots of attitude from rude people at other times. Moved to Canmore to get away from jerks. Not recommended.

Service took long, food was average and there was no croutons on the caeser salad weird. The price was more than the quality.

I’m sorry — I’ve been derelict. I actually visited Santa Lucia back in April but am just now getting around to writing the review! I visit Canmore often enough(usually twice a month during the summer & on and off the rest of the year) — but I tend to frequent the same venues over and over when I go. Bad habit, I know. So, it’s always a good thing when someone encourages me to visit somewhere different. The restaurant itself is small, but that lends to its charm. In a town such as Canmore, it would be expected. However, the seating is flexible enough that you can fit semi-larger groups as well. Reservations recommended for busier times. The table by the window is great for people watching. Another confession: I’m not a lover of pasta. I KNOW. It shocks everyone. Hence why I tend to shy away from visiting Italian restaurants. But I do love gnocchi(which is potato, not«pasta» in my eyes), so I had the Gnocchi Rosé — it was excellent. Cooked perfectly, and the rosé sauce had just enough flavour but not enough to overpower the dish. The Bruschetta was also awesome — and apparently the Penne Sambuca is not one to be missed. My only suggestion would be to have more non-pasta-y dishes for those of us who seem to defy the rest of the world. Next time, I’m going to try a pizza.

The food was great. Portions were quite ample. Being in a resort area space was limited but service was good. Prices were reasonable for what you received and the location. Overall I would definitely return.

Curry Pasta? Yes! This signature dish was stunning while everything we tried at Santa Lucia was excellent. This small restaurant has only 10 tables or so and too little staff when busy, but the food is superb and the atmosphere a nice blend of intimate and casual. We felt a little out of place with our two-year old grandson but the restaurant took him in stride and all was well!
