I’m updating my review of this place because the quality of the food and the service have gone down. I used to love pint fries and now everytime I’ve ordered them they’ve been undercooked and they give me like 3 fries. Plus I find the service has really gone down. It really seems like the type of place where you’re hired because of looks rather than serving ability. I get the feeling that they think that they can lack on service because they know they will be busy. The last time I went there, there were a group of people partying it up pretty hard. They were getting out of control and harassing other tables including mine. At one point they were yelling very inappropriate things including derogatory slurs. They were standing at the bar the whole time and the servers, bouncers, staff did nothing. They were getting a lot of complaints too. The staff there continued to serve them alcohol even though they knew the one guy in particular should’ve been cut off 5 shots ago. That’s completely against aglc regulations. I was not impressed and haven’t been back since.

Great Wednesday as they wings are reasonably priced and the table keg beers are on special. Staff are polite and atmosphere welcoming.

The atmosphere and the food is always bang on, the have a great happy hour. My favourite time to go is Thursday’s for the Rice bowl(it’s on special that day).

I went here recently on a girls night prior to a concert downtown. The Pint was chosen after researching good happy hour deals on a Thursday night. The beer was OK, perhaps not the best selection in town but good enough. What really impressed me was my meal. The rice bowl was on sale so I ordered it with out meat. Instead of meat I asked for some extra broccoli and did they ever deliver! I was honestly expecting the usual frozen veggie mush typical of pubs, but this rice bowl was just the opposite. Heaps of fresh, bright, colourful vegetables with my choice of sauce. I left full and happy. I’ve been waiting to find an excuse to go back ever since.

I have a mixed review for this place. While the food was tasty and hot(we tried their Rodeo Week special of a beef and potato stew in a Yorkshire Pudding bowl topped with mashed potatoes), the actual place left something to be desired. When you walk in, you’re greeted with the smell of stale beer. I know this is a bar, but I’ve been to places that are clubs and eateries in the same place, and it doesn’t have to smell like that. There were remnants of the party the night before(Halloween) on the floor(streamers, misc. trash), and a stale yam fry sticking out of the utensil caddy on the table. For the dish itself, Yorkshire puddings are not the easiest thing to do, and to make one this big and still be tender was impressive. The beef and potato stew was alright, but the potatoes were a little under done. The mashed on top, though, was really good with the saucy gravy from the stew. The food was decent, and I would maybe try another location to see if it was cleaner, but I don’t think i would hit this location again.

Sunday afternoon at the Pint with some other Unilocal Elites trying a menu item for Rodeo Week. Beef and potato stew in a Yorkshire Pudding bowl topped with mashed potatoes. When the chef came out to speak with us, he looked bored, tired, and uninspired. The Yorkshire Pudding, while hard to make in the first place, was actually pretty decent. It was gigantic, but cooked all the way through. Even had crispy edges, which I love. The meat was tender, the gravy was dark and rich. The pieces of potato that I had in mine were under done, so that was a slight put off. The mashed potatoes on top were way better. Almost like a «half stew, half shepherd’s pie» type deal. It was indeed tasty, and I finished it off. The atmosphere though, in the middle of a Sunday, was something to be desired. We walked in, and it took a few minutes of us gawking around, to actually be noticed. Not to mention, Halloween was the night before, and I’m sure the place was packed, but you could smell alcohol and just an overall scent of stale. There were leftover decorations, and old food sticking out of the utensil holder that was on our table. Glad I got to watch some NFL football on the TV, due to being put into a small, cramped, dark and overheated space. The serving staff were nice, but not very memorable. I am going to a different Pint location soon. I am hoping for a bit better in regards to atmosphere.

When I came here today for the first time in ages, I was reminded of why I had such middling memories of this venue. The venue is poorly lit and there was remnants of food and other items from the previous night. Even the floor was mildly sticky in places. I understand that this pub gets very busy at night, but still the amount of mess that was still about the place at the early hour that we were visiting was really disconcerting. The one thing I do remember about this place is that there was decent stick-to-your-ribs food, and in that sense I wasn’t disappointed when trying one of their Rodeo Week menu items: Beef Stew with Yukon potatoes, served in a large Yorkshire pudding. I really loved the Yorkshire pudding: it was my highlight of the meal as it was so well flavoured by the stew which moistened it quite well. I found the mashed potatoes really tasty as well. The fact that the stew also included regular potatoes seemed a bit odd when there’s already mashed potatoes in the dish as well. The chef was really casual when he visited our table. The servers were also pretty casual. I kind of wish that the lighting was a little better. The table was really high in our booth which made us all feel unusually short too.

It’s a bar, so the atmosphere is what you would expect. No problem there. Good selection of beer on tap too. The service was quite slow, however. It is also darker than it needs to be; I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu. I wanted nachos, but the serving size was huge, and they didn’t not offer to make me a half order. Since it was Taco Tuesday, I had the tacos: $ 2 each. They came in multiples of three only, so really it should be $ 6 tacos. In any case, don’t bother. They were tiny, and tasteless. I had chicken, pulled pork, and beef, and I couldn’t tell the difference. The poutine was about what you would expect this far west of Quebec. The fries were good, but the gravy was too salty(coming from me, that’s saying something). The beer was good though. That’s why I gave it two stars.

Came here on Saturday Night for my birthday with some friends. Had a good time. Excellent music!!! Very crowded and don’t expect to hear what the other person is saying as the music is good and loud! There is a dance floor but people just dance where ever really! There are 2 separate bars(I think) to grab drinks from the bar tenders. You can pay by cash, debit & credit. Cons : Ridiculously HOT Overcrowded Excessive amounts of homeless people bagging

Spacious, decent food, awesome boneless wings(with 40 flavors to choose from), and great beer selection. Definitely a great choice for wing nights, large meet ups or even a quick bite.

I’ve gone here twice for lunch and both times I felt full, but not satisfied. The ceaser in a boot is hilarious and note-worthy while the fish and chips was possibly the worst order I’ve ever made.(Which, in the defense of The Pint, what did I expect at a downtown pub in Edmonton?) Service has always been friendly, but surprisingly slow when the place was dead… I won’t be going out of my way to eat here again, as the first two times were because of coupons and they didn’t win my heart. Overall, their food seems to be trying too hard to be more than ‘delicious pub comfort food’ status but not hard enough to get«real actual meal worth blogging about» status. Awkward in between bland dish status, unfortunately.

This is the«watering hole» for when things go south at work. Any day of the week after work, this is the place to sit, have a drink and vent. Numerous occassions have been celebrated, various plan of actions devised and the growing names of people being thrown out for elibriation of no return. I know it’s not a word but it sounds good! So this is my poetic way of how much I’ve enjoyed this place, bare with me there is no rhyme or reason, just hopefully for pure entertainment value. I take criticism any way possible: When you enter, you will be greeted by some husky gentleman, the keepers of the peace. You find your own table, be greeted by a delightful young lady who will up sell you on drinks. Be forewarned, something call alcohol may change your perception. The hours of rehydration and toxicity of your demise will slowly creep up on you. There are tvs showing the score of your would sporting activity. You may find yourself lucky peaking interest from other patrons as their judgment is clouded as well. As any good night, it all must cone to an end, remember to tip your server well because she got you to this state of happiness. The gentleman you met at the beginning of your night, he is hailing your yellow chariot home. The next morning, you decide Tuesday is a definite repeat. Remember readers drink responsibly and don’t let the small stuff bother you, unless there are floated in your drink, then don’t be afraid to replace you bevvy.

The waitress provided terrible service to the point we didn’t want to tip her. She forgot to clear up our table. It was just a mess. Food tasted good, but service killed it for us.

Came here for a Paint Nite event and was kind of disappointed with my service! I came with plenty of time to spare before my event started and sat at the bar. I ordered quickly to make sure I had time to eat and pay. About 30 mins later I was still waiting for my food(poutine). Worried I wouldn’t have my food I time I asked for my bill and paid promptly with cash. Leaving a $ 7 tip on an $ 18 bill I thought was sufficient. We were told we could begin to go into our room and I decided to find a spot. I asked the bartender if that was okay and she said she’d bring in my food. Another 10 mins passed and she came in with my food. Plopped it down on the bench and walked away. I asked for a fork and I got an eye roll… You’d think after an almost 50% tip I’d at least get a half smile… Nope attitude! Food was cold and fries were soggy :-( Kind of disappointing, and I doubt I will return anytime soon!

This is a pretty popular spot. It gets really busy. We came here after work to eat and have a few drinks on the patio. It’s a pretty small patio and they have tried to fit as many tables as possible out there. Perhaps too many. It’s crowded. The food is good. They cooked my rare steak sandwich perfectly! And the caesar was awesome too! It came with a small pepperoni stick. Our server was lovely and made sure to do a quality check on the food. Also was quick to replenish drinks!

I’ve been to both locations, downtown and on Whyte Ave, both many times! It’s a great spot for the after work crowd, good vibes, and really great prices. Happy hour has great deals on drinks as well as some food specials. Wing Wednesday is an amazing deal, and their wings are great! They have so many different types to choose from so everyone ends up happy. I love pubs and this has a chill atmosphere, and it has a big layout so you can almost always find a spot really easily. I’ve found the service to be a little better in the Whyte Ave location, but from the times I’ve been to both I think that was only because there seemed to be more staff/less patrons, but the staff are very friendly and the service is quite efficient, even when they’re busy. I’ve seen all types of people in the crowd, but I suppose it would generally be those in their 20s-30s. The people who come here are here for fun and it’s so great to talk and meet with people. The platters are a great deal, especially if you’re with a group. They have 3 types, we always get the one that comes with wings(bone in and no bone), nachos, french fries(amazing fries) and chicken fingers. Have never been disappointed! If you’re looking for a nice pub, good atmosphere, good price, this is a good spot to check out. The deck at the downtown location is also great in the summer.

Having a WAY better experience here tonight for the Mayweather fight tonight than my experience on Whyte. My boyfriend and I ventured to the Downtown Pint location where it was packed to the rafters with boxing fans. It was really hot and sweaty but I was amazed at the quality of service and food. There weren’t many servers on staff, but the ones who were were friendly, smiley, fast and efficient, carefully squeezing around tables, making eye contact and smiling despite totally having their hands full. Our food was piping hot and delivered quickly and we had no problem with getting a menu and ordering more when we wanted another snack before leaving. Much better experience at this location. Thanks, The Pint Downtown!

The pint is a great place to bring some friends, sit out on the patio and just BS. The food is quite good and they always have specials each day. The ribs and wings are fantastic. This is a place where almost everyone is friendly and willing to strike up a conversation. At night the bar is hopping and they have some good 90’s and top 40’s dance music. The crowd that comes out ranges from mid twenties to mid thirties.

So you know what the best combination is? Having gift certificates to use + going on Boxing Day because everything(everything!) was 50% off. SWEETDEAL. I went with two buddies of mine around noon and the place was empty. Think we saw one other person sitting at the bar. No biggie, it ended up getting decently busy by the time we left. Anyways, having 50% off the whole menu and drinks made everything very appealing. We shared a couple of appetizers and had a few drinks: — Beers($ 7 – 8 each) — if only they were always this cheap! We took advantage. — Fish tacos($ 11) — three basa tacos with decent amount of guacamole on the side. — Pulled pork tacos — you get three as well. Both were tasty and surprisingly good for bar food. — Pita dippers($ 11) — naan bread and toasted bread sticks with three dips(hummus, spinach dip and tzatziki). The best was the spinach dip which was a cheesy spinach deliciousness. Not too heavy/rich which was a nice surprise. — Niagara nachos with added chicken($ 16+3) — your typical chips but we added chicken on top. Little bit of vegetables, green onion, jalapenos, olives and tomatoes. We didn’t need to order this but everyone was definitely full after this dish. Note — I wrote the regular price of the dishes. Food was good for bar food and waitress was great/super friendly. I’ve been here several times and it is one of the better places to go in Edmonton. About 3.5 stars sounds right.

I came here with a work friend after spending a few days doing business stuff in Edmonton. Was a Friday and all we cared for was something with good atmosphere and good selection of beer. This place had both, and we got in just before it started to get even more busy. We just about found a table at the back away from the dance and dj area. I went for my usual wheat beer and ordered a variety of starters. Pulled pork tacos, and something with beef too I think. The food was good and the service was okay. The only downside was that it was a bit too loud in that section and also seeing the amount of regulars group up by the small bar here. I have an inkling that many of the girls that were hanging in this area worked here or knew the bar maids as many a free drink was being slipped around, along with some guys putting something even more suspect in their own drinks. By the time we left here there was a big line up but I can see why it gets busy as it does have an overall fun vibe.
