Kept walking past this place on ny way to Starbucks or bridgehead and always forgot to go in. I always had the feeling that it was would be a place to go get a real specialty coffee made by a real barista. Boy was I wrong. McDonald’s makes coffee like this. Sorry, I should have said McCafe. Disappointing.

The latte was made by machine, which totally defeats the purpose of calling it a «speciality» coffee shop. There’s an art to making a great latte that lacks greatly here. Customer service was not awful, but quite curt, and not a single smile(those are free…). Great dark chocolate almond biscotti but does not make up for the mediocre machine made latte and just ok service! I would recommend TAN café. Still the best.

Someone in another review said they have the best coffee — and I think their coffee is great. Unfortunately their over-priced hot chocolate and tea are not. I also think their customer service could stand just a little bit of work. We went in there around 7:30 — ordered, and were asked if it was to stay or to go. We said to stay — and were told quite clearly we had to drink up and leave as they close a 8. I do understand the struggle of a small business but I also think there are better ways to accomplish this — for example, close at 7:30 but let people sit and enjoy their coffee until 8, instead of letting them order until 8 but not letting them have their coffee in piece. Or plan on staying to 8:30 and enjoy the surprise if you get to leave earlier. There’s just no excuse to make customers feel they aren’t welcome. The tea was not well made. The water was not hot enough — so the tea did not steep well. The hot chocolate was made form powder. It was a ‘small’ order and a tiny tiny size for $ 3.19! What a rip off. Didn’t even taste good. Décor is cute. Have free wi-fi, but you have to ask for WEP key at the counter.(Someone said it’s only available at lunch — it’s available at all times but at lunch they ask you to limit your time — I think the other reviewer mis-read the sign.) So: If you go here, stick to the coffee. If it’s later in the day, don’t expect to linger. They do have a small lunch menu, but we didn’t try it. Please take my poor review with a grain of salt, and review it yourself, since my experience was really quite limited for this family run business. Would I recommend: No. Would I return: No — there are lots of other options in the neighbourhood that are open later and better meet our needs.

Without question, the best coffee I have ever tasted in my entire life. If you walk past this establishment, I highly suggest that you stop in for a coffee.

I always thought this place was just a coffee and muffin joint, similar to the chain options we have in small town Ontario. I was surprised to walk in and see a sprawling menu on the wall which not only included many options for teas and specialty coffees but also more than a dozen sandwich/panini options. It’s a family run place with I believe only two locations and it’s not in business because it’s the only option(there is a Second Cup, Bridgehead and two Starbucks all within a short walking distance) but I suspect because people keep coming back and so will I. I ordered their vanilla latte which is what I order at «those other places» so I could compare and it met my expectations. The place was very clean and had more comfortable seating than their neighbours on the street. One small thing for café lovers with internet needs… It seemed to be that wifi was only available from 11am to 2pm daily so it seems they may want to be deterring those all day coffee squatters who take up spots(Yes, I can be guilty of that too). With so many lunch options(quiche, sandwiches, panini, salads) and really good coffee I hope this place can weather the competition. So far it seems they’ve done a pretty good job of it.
