My friend Matt reviewed this place just below. I am one of those friends that tagged along on the ritual experience. This place was heaven.

My friends and I were visiting the BC area for five days and were delighted at the words«All You Can Eat» after a long wet walk through Stanley Park. We absolutely loved the place! We’ve been to several Mongolian places but this one takes the cake. $ 10 for single bowl, $ 12 for AYCE. Also included side of rice & eggs, egg rolls, and soup. During our short trip we went here twice!

All you can eat for $ 13? Sign me up! Stack your plates high with whatever you choose — beef, lamb, chicken… Don’t forget the noodles, veggies and the sauces! Then watch as it’s all cooked in front of you. Yum! You even get unlimited tea, soup, and bread. Seriously, it’s an outrageous deal here and the food is actually decent. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. If it’s busy though, you’ll have to wait in line a while for your food to be cooked. A small price to pay for decently priced AYCE.

We’ve been going here for many years almost every time we come into Vancouver. For the price it is my favourite restaurant around. You can get the all you can eat or a single bowl for cheaper. If you load the single bowl with some ingenuity you’ll likely be very full in the end. The sauce is a DIY style with a cheat sheet on how to make the classics. I normally combine a couple of them for more flavour. The meals come with rice, some kinda tofu soup and a spring roll.

Prices are way to high for this place. Visited this place only once and will never do it again — my boyfriend got food poisoning that lasted for 2 days after giving this place a try. Stay away!

This place rocks. Simple. Delicious. CHEAP. Want to get fed? Like REALLY fed? The concept here is similar to the more famous Mongolie Grill and other urban Mongolian places where you select your items for your meal in a bowl and then have them grill it on front of you. The difference is that there are no scales involved. Whatever you can fit in your bowl is what you get. You’ll see various strategies and anti-gravity engineering from fellow customers in line. The meat options are beef, pork, chicken and lamb. There are plenty of veggies available too, as well as sauces galore to flavour your meal. A lunch for $ 8.95 includes a spring roll, small soup and bowl of rice. Go eat!

I am a very picky eater and I can tell that he quality of the food at GREATWALLMONGOLIANBBQ is excellent. I would say, it’s the only Mongolian BBQ place to go in Vancouver. Yes, it is small and not tastefully decorated but the food is great. I was surprised to enjoy it sooo much ! The sauces they use are very unique in my opinion, I never seen them anywhere else with exception of a few. Everything was very fresh, including meat. I have been to the this location twice and both times I was not disappointed. Customers make a mess at the counter and I noticed the stuff cleaning after them continiously by picking up and throwing away the dropped pieces of veggies etc and wiping the food station…

Lots of guys at work rave about this place & one guy took me here for lunch. It was ok but I was shocked that food safe protocol was not strictly followed. Yes customers make a mess but id rather have seen the staff wipe the food dropped onto the counter into a tray rather than a dust pan. Yes she had a broom & dustpan & rag, put the broom down, lifted the dust pan & wipe the food onto it. Yuk. Meat was tough. And I needed some advise on the sauce. Mostly hungry guys here at lunch. The types that would eat anything. Im sometimes like that but not today. So average eatery. Less 1 star for the dust pan incident.

I came here with some friends after the restaurant we originally wanted to go to was closed. The restaurant is small and feels very much like a hole in the wall. It works similar to other Mongolian BBQ restaurants, where you can fill your bowl as full as you like with meat, veggies, noodles, and sauce for $ 7.95(lunch special). It also comes with a small soup, fried rice, and a spring roll. The spring roll was pretty good, the fried rice was okay, but I was not a fan of the soup. I also made the mistake of not adding enough sauce into my bowl, but there is sriracha on the tables, and sriracha fixes everything. I think the biggest problem here is the line-up system. You fill your bowl, and then you have to wait with it while the chef grills up the bowls one at a time. They really, really need a number system so you can fill up your bowl and then sit down until it is ready. I was stuck in a queue of people for well over 20 minutes. It’s just a really inefficient system. I doubt I’ll be back, but it is a good deal if you’re in the area and have over an hour to spend at lunch.

Love this place. My boyfriend and I come here whenever we need a hearty meal for a reasonable price. The staff is very nice and if you ask the chef for recommendations your can end up with a really tasty sauce.

I had walked by this place about 50 times before I decided to try it, and I’m glad I did. It has become one of my favorite lunch places. For 7.95 you get 1 large bowl which you can heap as much meat, noodles and veggies as you want. They also give you spring rolls, egg drop soup, and rice as side dished which you can get refills on if you ask. For those extra hungry individuals you can go for the 9.95 all you can eat but in my experience if you fill your bowl correctly you really don’t need to. Moving onto the taste… It’s delicious. Try it.

One of the worst foods I have tried in the past year. They offer lunch specials which is a bowl of Mongolian food for $ 7.95, which sounds good, but when you try it, you would regret the decision. The ingredients were not fresh and also not high quality. The only thing that I liked was the complementary spring roll that they serve to you. Anyway, stay away from this place unless you are starving to death.

This is the only Mongolian BBQ I go to… best price, best selection, and I love the sauce combination suggestions! Keep in mind that you can wait a while to get a table or waiting for your food to be prepared but it’s worth the wait!

Not a bad place for Mongolian BBQ. Beef was bit tough. Only chicken scraps left when I got to it. Wish their were pineapple’s to add. Employees were nice. MAKESUREYOUADDDOUBLEORMOREOFTHELISTEDSAUCES! Or you won’t really taste the flavor… I’m used to the cook adding the sauces & noodles at other places but they don’t do that here so be prepared for that. I saw one guy adding his noodles on top of everything last to hold all his his meat & veggies in, good idea! You can’t beat the prices — $ 8 for lunch & $ 10 for all you can eat. I couldn’t even finish 1 bowl though. Comes with egg flour soup(a little bland) & fried spring roll(your usual) so that was a neat extra even though I only tried each item. Place will fill you up plenty!

I know what you’re thinking. There’s about a handful of these Mongolian places in any given neighbourhood. In my downtown neighbourhood, I can say that this particular one on Denman is pretty awesome. Lunch is $ 7.95 for a single bowl. Anything above a single bowl is $ 9.95. Every time I eat here, I develop this raw human instinct. I get into my ancient ancestral hunter-gatherer mode or a Tetris superstar mode — can’t decide which! As I reach for one of the empty bowls stacked neatly above the buffet cart, my senses are locked in. First up, you have the meats. I like to go straight for the lamb. Then, it’s a matter of finding suitable pieces that will fill your bowl to its maximum capacity. Next, I balance my strategically placed meats to the next section of noodles and greens. I always go for the yellow egg noodles. Much more flavour than the white flour ones, especially when it’s about to be stir-fried. Just a pinch of noodles, and a whole lot of bean sprouts! From here on, it’s a matter of resting some pieces of tofu gently on top of the heap. Occasionally, if you go late enough, there are straw mushrooms for your picking. Can I say I love straw mushrooms? Yes. Absolutely yes. Finally, grab a sauce guru robe because you’re about to mix you some sauces! If you’re like me, you’ll enjoy a mixture of Mongo Sauce, Black Bean, Sesame Oil and Honey Lemon. When that’s done, pass your bowl along to the nice chef waiting at the end of the buffet cart with his over-sized chopsticks. Watch as the chef whips up your gathered goods and serves it warm in a new bowl. Every meal comes with complimentary sides of spring roll, soup and fried rice. What did I tell ya’. Awesome.
