Decent attempt at Cali-style tacos. Lots of cabbage and other veggies. So full you can’t help making a mess and picking up half the stuff with a fork. The flavours are okay. Nothing super special. The meat is full of seasoning, but it’s rather dry. I had a trio of tacos — one Pork, one Chicken, and on Beef — and they were all quite like each other. Almost indistinguishable from each other in texture and flavour. The cabbage and other veggies are macerated so much that the presentation isn’t very appetizing as it almost looks pre-chewed. But I guess it tasted just fine like that.

Although, staff were were friendly — the tacos were awful. I ordered three LA Street Tacos, mild. There bland, dry and flavourless. You think mild means a little flavour — wrong. I wouldn’t give them a second try.

Located WITHIN Vera’s Burgers — we visited May 1, 2014. I was meeting a friend for dinner at Vera’s, but there were all these stickers on the window that said«The Taco Shack». I was worried – but a glacé at the familiar cow-patterned awning confirmed it was still a Vera’s location. It appears that the franchisee who runs this Vera’s location is also operating a Taco Shack from the same till/kitchen. You can order Vera’s fries and Taco shack’s entrees on the same bill and order. Super handy. Awesome portions! My veggie taco was loaded with goodies, and there was a second shell(both soft) underneath the first, so all the toppings that fell out just went into the next one. Great price too! My friend had a burrito and it was Hefty. Lots of meat and goodies, it was actually heavy. Unfortunately the way it was rolled all the meat was at 1 end. But it was still delicious apparently.
