Original Joe’s

I’m going to start with this: it was my first time there and I definitely won’t be going back. Went there on a Friday for lunch with a group of about 7 guys. The restaurant was not busy at all and we did get seated right away. The server got us our drinks promptly, and that’s where our experience starts the sour. We didn’t order our food right away, but once we did it took about an hour for us to receive our food; and one person in the party only ordered a side of fries. Once we got our food, it didn’t impress us either. Many situations service and food will balance each other out when one is bad to keep the experience somewhat pleasant, this wasn’t the case. It was apparent that our food had been sitting for quite some time before being brought out to us. Warm fries, I can begrudgingly live with that. What was most displeasing was that one of my friends burger bun was actually cool to the touch on top. It wasn’t frozen cold as if it had just come out of the fridge, but it was noticeably cool when you touched it. As for my Fish Tacos, I wasn’t expecting much yet they still managed to disappoint. The pieces of fish were pretty tiny and were surprisingly quite hard; I can’t be certain if it was because they were overcooked or due to sitting under a heat lamp for an extended period.
I do have some sympathy for busy understaffed restaurant. However, like I mentioned before there were plenty of tables open and I did notice at least 3 different servers on staff at that time, so I don’t think review is a reflection of being understaffed. During our prolonged wait for our orders our server did continue to check in on us. However, only to get us more drinks, she only offered one update of «your food is coming up shortly» when one of us asked about 40min into our wait. I can be understanding if mistakes were made, but with no real update or apology for an hour wait for simple burgers and sandwiches, I find that unacceptable.

It’s an Original Joe’s so you know what to expect. Good beer, decent price. Pub food that «appeals to the masses». Really great service though!

Waited 1 hour for our order. Our waitress told us our order was up next, and as she walked out of the kitchen she brought the order out of the kitchen to some one else. FAIL.

Food is only average but they’ve got the best looking wait staff in West Kelowna. That alone makes it worth the visit.

A group of about 12 of us went here after a wedding rehearsal on the West Side and we were consistently disappointed throughout our time there … a beer was spilled and never cleaned up, orders were not delivered, a couple of us ordered appetizers which were overcooked and served lukewarm, and the next day, the day of the wedding, I personally had major tummy issues … lovely… not one of our party will return to repeat this horrible experience.

Stopped in for beers on a Saturday night. The staff was friendly and the beer was great! I had the Original Joes Honey lager (not sure the exact name) and it was AMAZING! Seriously such a good beer. Too bad I can’t buy it in a store or bottle somewhere. The place is very clean and has a great atmosphere. If I lived local I would visit often. Didn’t have any food so I can’t comment on that. But the menu looked good :-)
