This is one of the best restaurants on the planet. My wife and I like to try really fine dining locations so we gave this a try based on Unilocal reviews. The place is stunningly beautiful right next to the ocean. The view is spectacular. The entrance has a champagne tasting bar which was unique. The service was extremely attentive and the food was excellent. We will be back for sure!!!

Wow! I was there last week and this was by far the best dining experience during my stay in Cabo. The service is amazing, the ambiance was top notch. If you are looking for a romantic dinner while in Cabo, nothing beats this place. Make sure to make reservations.

Very beautiful and breathtaking views. The staff provide excellent service(they even sent a cab to pick us up because we were lost). The staff are very attentive. Food was delicious. A little on the pricy side but you definitely get what you pay for. The meal you pay for comes with the soup of the day and appetizers. Delicious!

I read an online article that said trying El Farallon was an absolute must while in Cabo. That article was absolutely correct. From start to finish a meal at El Farallon is an experience you don’t want to miss. The food was fantastic, the service amazing, and a view that can not be beat. Prepare your wallet because it can get a little pricey, but it’s worth every penny!

You know your heading to a special place when you have to drive through a tunnel in a mountain to get to this resort. The Pedregal is built in to the side of a mountain as is the El Farallon restaurant. If you have any mobility issues ask them to drive you to the elevator in the golf cart, its quite a walk. Arriving at the entrance you will see the restaurant is built right in to the rocks above the sea. The hostess will greet you and offer you stop at the champagne bar, this is optional. After that you will stop and order your entrée. They had about 5 different fresh fish options, lobster tail and a ribeye at US$ 99 a pound. You then move on and pick two sides. Everyone receives the same soup, appetizers and dessert. Despite booking 3 months ahead of time we were seated in the second row but still had a beautiful view of the ocean. Our waiter arrived to take our drink orders and explain we would be sharing the appetizers and dessert. The appetizers for the night were spinach salad, calamari and ceviche. The salad and calamari were okay but not as good as I would expect from a high end restaurant. The ceviche however was very good. Our entrée’s arrived and my sea bass was cooked perfectly. A little crispy on the outside and moist inside. My two sides of potatoes and mac & cheese were also good. For dessert we were brought churros and donut holes with a chocolate and caramel dipping sauce. Again I expected a little more for this type of restaurant. For being as high end and expensive as it is here I just found it strange that you had no choice of appetizer or dessert. Besides my sea bass nothing else was spectacular(besides the view!). After eating at Agua and Cocina del Mar I would place El Farallon in third.

We were looking for a nice, special place to have delicious food with a great view. El Farallon delivered on both exceedingly! Get there early to enjoy the grounds of this beautiful resort. It’s design is exquisitely executed. Order a guava lychee margarita, one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had. The sea bass skewer appetizer was perfectly seasoned and cooked and the sea bass ceviche was the best ceviche I’ve ever had in a restaurant. For dinner, I had the amberjack and my husband had the tatoomba and they were both delicious though we agreed my amberjack(blackened) was better. The meal ended with churros and chocolate beignets, which we ordered a second order of… Yum! I can’t say enough. It was definitely in the top 3 restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life. If you’re visiting Cabo, do NOT miss El Farallon.

Hands down the nicest dinner experience we ever had. The view, staff & food all get 5 stars. We arrived by taxi & checked in @ the front gate. We were then driven through a tunnel to the main entrance of the resort. As we exited the tunnel we were greeted by staff who knew your name. Arriving early we had a drink @ the bar where a violinist was playing. We ordered a 2nd drink & were escorted to the restaurant which was about a 2 minute walk from the bar. The views on the walk alone were magnificent. We were greeted by the hostess & brought to our table. As you look to the left just below you see boulders in the water & waves crashing upon them. Every wait staff greeted you by name. The menu is on chalk board. About 8 types of fish were available &2 types of meat. We ordered the fishermans bounty for 2 which was 4 types of fish, 2 humongous shrimp &2 large clams & a lobster tail. Before the main course you are given a generous bowl of the chefs choice of soup. After the soup you are treated to 3 appetizers. The main course came out in a large skillet, you have your choice of 2 sides each. Constant attention by the staff during your your entire meal. The dinner set us back $ 300 but was well worth it. The setting of the restaurant was nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. Carved out of a mountainside overlooking the Sea of Cortez. A must for a romantic dinner on Cabo San Lucas.

The best service around. The restaurant is such a unique experience. I would highly recommend to anyone willing to spend some money. You get a soup, three appetizers, your main course, and dessert included in the price. Great experience

An incredibly beautiful restaurant with an amazing view AND fresh fish?! Um… yes please! Came here while staying at the Resort at Pedregal and LOVED it. We were able to make a reservation through the hotel, and we walked along the cliffside restaurant, faced the ocean and enjoyed a beautifully dusky evening of food and drink. We were greeted by many smiling and happy servers and seated promptly and given instructions on how to select our meals for the evening. As you walk in, you will see the fresh seafood bar where the catches of the day are spread out for your choosing. We opted for the lobster tails, and boy were we happy! So fresh and so buttery good… the service is impeccable here, and we loved every minute of our meal. Definitely worth bringing someone special to!

The experience begins as you enter the gates to the hotel. You have to go through a tunnel which is the only tunnel in Cabo. We heard it took a over a year to make. Reminds me of the tunnel system in Guanajuato. As you exit the tunnel, you are treated by a beautiful exhibit at the entrance. Everyone is extremely kind and professional. We were escorted to the bar as we waited for our reservations. The view of the infinity pool and ocean are eye candy. We had beautiful hand crafted cocktails and complimentary home roasted nuts. The landscape is lovely. Attention to detail is what impressed me. When it was time to dine, we were personally escorted to the restaurant. The views alone were enough for me. The food was excellent. Besides the views, I appreciated that dinner seemed to be a progressive event. Not just a eat and leave type of deal. I made the reservations precisely when they open because I wanted to see the sunset. As the evening wore on, the ocean began to provide us with a show as it crashed into the rocks. We began at 5pm and comfortably left at about 8 – 8:30pm. A taxi was immediately ready for pick up at the entrance. Recommendations: ladies do not wear heels-uneven floors made of flat yet bumpy rocks. Low wedges or nice flats is adequate. Reserve accordingly. arrive at the hotel about 30 – 45 minutes prior to enjoy a cocktail then watch the sunset from the restaurant, it’s perfect. FYI if you ask for water, it’s a quart of ‘FIJI’ water and that will set you back $ 11. I think regular water is one of those things that should naturally be included in a meal, not charged for. This didn’t appeal to me but then again, I’ve paid $ 15 for water at a Vegas Club before out of desperation after dancing and they know that. The smallest piece of steak offered is Rib Eye and that’s 12 oz. I recommend ordering 1 and sharing it with your partner. Your partner can order seafood and share with you. Our bill was $ 206(with cocktail and coffee) with %15 gratuity included. Not bad at all. There is an option to provide extra gratuity. I recommend it. There is a champagne bar that’s separate from dining. Pretty. Enjoy and take lots of pictures! Restaurant rated in the top ten in Mexico and rated in the top fifty in the world.interesting.

soo good. You get great service from even entering the property. They valeted our car, and walked us from the entrance to the restaurant. There are great views even walking towards the restaurant. When you first arrive they take you to the champagne bar… pass. then to the seafood display. we ordered the bounty but substituted the 4 pieces of fish for 4 pieces of scallops.(we were pretty tired of fish at this point) my most favorite item was the chocolate clam! so meaty and had great flavors. enough for me to split with biff. the lobster was a bit overcooked(which i why i docked one star) the bounty comes with 4 sides, my favorite was the mushrooms and mac and cheese. the mac cheese comes in a mini cast iron which keeps it nice and hot. at the end, they served us churros and donuts, which I thought they could have done better with the dessert. The bounty is 140 dollars and is for 2 people. They could have at least done flan or something. *******Also, an important note, water is ELEVENDOLLARS. I ordered still, le biff ordered sparkling, so we eneded up spending 22 dollars on water alone. ****** If i were to go back, I’d rather order one drink than an eleven dollar water, or better yet, just bring my own water. It was ridiculous.

El Falleron was awesome! This was my second visit. We were celebrating my girlfriends birthday– you must visit this place while in Cabo. The service was impeccable. Second to none. 2 in our party shared the bounty which was a combination of several fish and 4 side items. They were well pleased. I had the scallops with asparagus and zucchini grilled to perfection. The scallops were seasoned perfectly and grilled to perfection too. Wow. For the birthday girl they came out with a 2 buckets of donuts with churro’s on top. The birthday girls bucket had a chocolate with happy birthday. Yay! That caramel sauce for those donuts were definitely in our jobs. We felt welcome from the time we came through the mountain until the cab pulled away!!! Great job.

While staying at the Resort at Pedregal, we opted to dine at El Farallon our first night there. However, with Hurricane Sandra causing storm surge, the waves were crashing onto the restaurant, so we rescheduled it. What an amazing dinner experience! The view was fabulous! You start by getting some champagne on the terrace. I opted for a Rose(which I am generally not a fan of) since it was exclusive to the Resort. Once they have your table ready, you make your way to the menu station, where you pick your choice of meat and are informed of the courses that will be served. The night we dined, the starter was crab soup. It was wonderful! They followed it up with seaweed salad, seabass ceviche, and calamari. All of it was good. The did bring my husband corn chowder instead of the crab soup and also chicken skewers since he doesn’t eat ceviche or calamari. We both agreed that the seaweed salad was amazing! For our meat selection, I had the seabass and he had the filet. Both were so tasty and cooked to perfection! To wrap it up, they brought out churros and chocolate donuts. The donuts were not the frosted kind, like back home, but everything was great! Overall, this restaurant is on point … a wonderful end to our Cabo vacation!

Our stay in Cabo was not filled with great food, and we were happy that we had booked El Faralljón towards the end of our trip because we knew we would be going out on a high note. We were not disappointed: This was one of the best dining experiences we have had in recent memory. Rather than compare it to other restaurants in the area, I feel a better comparison is to the Providence in Los Angeles, as this is the type of meal you will be talking about for some time. My only disappointments were that we had not booked an earlier reservation so as to see the sunset, and that I could not have possibly finished the food if it had been spread out over two meals, much less in a single seating. Our reservations were for 7:30pm which meant we spent most of the meal shrouded in darkness while the waves crashed over the railing. While not nearly as idyllic as being basked in the dying sunlight, it still made for an attractive atmosphere and added to the uniqueness of the experience. Service was impeccable, although(like Providence) I think it is somewhat mandatory that you are an adventurous and interested diner. The waiters are at their best when explaining the details about what you are eating, so if this type of food really isn’t your thing, save your money and go somewhere else. Highlights were the ceviche and the cactus appetizers, the fish entrée, and the corn, broccoli and seasonal vegetables side dishes. The appetizers themselves were so good(and abundant) that I easily could have had a light meal out of them alone. I would recommend going with at least four people as I think this type of meal is best when shared amongst a few people; however, if you are looking for a romantic, splendid meal for two, El Farallón is still a great option.

You’re definitely paying for the view here, not the food or the service. With that said the restaurant is absolutely beautiful and built into the rocky cliffs of the Pacific side of Cabo. You get to watch the waves literally crash next to you and sometimes on top of you, but it’s kinda nice since it’s so hot. I sought this place out online and read all of the reviews on Unilocal and TripAdvisor, but I feel a little bit let down. Firstly, the server sat us down and very quickly went through the menu and actually ended up confusing himself on what was what. He had to to consult his manager to figure out what was actually on the menu. Then he rushed us by asking us what we were having as our entrée like 3 times. We couldn’t really sit and enjoy ourselves because he was so pushy. Second, the food was just blah. Not worth the $ 89/pound on the ribeye, nor the ridiculous fish prices. Everything was very bland and weak. Sorry guys, but no Bueno. I would have gladly spend $ 40 at Taco Gardenia on the campechana and left a $ 200 tip, haha. Nah, it wasn’t bad at all, I just expected more from all the hype I read about. It was beautiful, just subpar on the flavors.

What you are paying is for the view and the dining experience, built in restaurant on the cliffs. For a fancy restaurant it is a great deal for the price… You get appetizer, entrée and dessert. Cabo dining to its finest, you probably won’t find anywhere else in Cabo. My BF took me here as a surprise dinner because he read so many good reviews about it. The view was very enjoyable and beautiful… It gets hot though and be prepared to get a little splashed by the ocean. Our server was a bit of a disappointment. He was nice and all but we felt rushed and he was a bit pushy towards the menu. He didn’t know much about the menu as he didn’t cover everything on the menu. He just went over the fish and messed up a couple of times. He didn’t tell us about the surf and turf nor the bounty(plenty of food for 2 comes with all 4 fish plus a clam, lobster or shrimp and 4 sides). He totally skipped it and tried to rush us into ordering. Only thing we didn’t like! He also had to call another knowledgable server to explain the things he didn’t go over with us… Besides our unknowlegable pushy server, the food was good. We gotten the bounty for 2($ 120USD) and a ribeye steak on top of that($ 99 per pound USD). Yes pretty damn pricey for even American prices, but don’t forget you get 2 sides for every entrée and appetizer and a dessert. Which our server didn’t quite explain to us. We got parrot fish, seabass, red snapper, Amber Jack, chocolate clams(and extra order), lobster and steak as proteins. We were fatties, unfortunately we didn’t eat it all as our server told us the bounty for 2 wasn’t that much which was a lie and it was plenty for 2. Don’t be fooled. The ribeye steak was cook right and good. The fishes were good, my favorite was the sweet chocolate clams! Lobster a bit dry(skip and go for shrimp). All fishes were cooked to perfection. We probably had about $ 60 left in fish we couldn’t finish. As for sides– our favorite, and you must get the truffles Mac and cheese! I’ve never seen so generosity in truffles pieces. Big black pieces! It was delicious. Asparagus, basil tomato, potato stacks were all good. Rice was meh and mushrooms were toooooo salty. Skip it. Dessert was good, it was a crêpe and donut balls… Nothing out of the ordinary. And drinks… Delicious well crafted hand made cocktails! My favorite was the guava pear cocktail along with watermelon mojito and spicy mango margarita. Be prepare to break your wallet here as a meal will cost you at least $ 200USD… A lot for Cabo standards when you have options to get cheap $ 1 tacos. El Farallon doesn’t disappoint on fresh catches from the Pac Ocean, and this is the only place where you can get a chocolate clam as seen on Andrew Zimmern, bizarre food Baja episode. It’s delicious as it sounds and I highly recommend it($ 8 each)… Automated 15% gratuity on checks, it’s no wonder our server was so damn pushy. Other than that, food was exquisite and probably the best you’ll find in Cabo fine dining scene. Well most likely come back as we now know what to order. Take it from a pro foodie!

5 stars for the view. 3.5 stars for the food. It’s no wonder El Farallón regularly makes it onto lists for most beautiful places to dine in the world. Hidden inside the über luxury Resort at Pedregal, El Farallón is only accessible via a tunnel through the mountain. As your car exits the tunnel, you are welcomed with grand views of the ocean. Guests are greeted by the hostess and taken on a somewhat lengthy walk through the resort to the actual restaurant which sits at the edge, along the cliffs. AMBIANCE: Breathtaking. The most beautiful views I’ve seen to date for any dining establishment. All seating is outdoors on the cliff side, so you are right next to the crashing waves(some occasional ocean mist is part of the experience). After sunset, the tables are only lit via candlelight. It’s almost too dim, and the waiters used handheld lights to shine on the food as they described them. There was live music playing until 10 pm or so — slow covers, very soothing volume. SERVICE: Above and beyond. I had a rare case of painful heartburn right before the meal and asked for antacid. The staff didn’t have any on hand, so they actually sent someone to a store to buy it, and then only charged me the actual price of the medicine. Amazing. Timing was my only complaint here. Took nearly 30 minutes for the first soup course to arrive after we ordered. There were no bread or chips to snack on. The second course of apps and the entrees also had lengthy waits. FOOD: Unfortunately the main part was a letdown! I think the amazing view may have clouded previous reviewers’ judgments about the food itself. Our table of six, including one vegetarian, all agreed that the food was just okay compared to fine dining options in the US. Being a seafood restaurant, you’d expect the fish to be star. While there were some standout sides, the seafood was all overcooked and meh. Bummer. The plating was also odd. Brown smears? Uh. Perhaps it was a good thing the lighting was dim. Of the sides, the lentil stew with bacon & plantains was a winner. The grilled corn and wild mushrooms were also delicious. The apps and soup were predetermined on the menu. I enjoyed them, especially the beet salad, which was extra fresh and crisp. The preset dessert was a trio shared family style. The gooey berry crepes were the best. The cinnamon palmier-like cookies were also enjoyable. The fried doughnut bites were dry and bland. Other Notes: –They had a champagne bar upon arrival. We opted for cocktails instead. Cocktails were impressive. Watermelon mojito was a bit hit. –Highly recommend arriving before sunset to see the location in all its glory. –Must make reservations! The resort is not open to the public, and they have someone checking every car at the entrance. –They have vegetarian options available. My friend chose mushroom risotto and they adapted her sides accordingly.

This was by far one of the most amazing dining experiences that I have ever had. Between the view, the service and the food selection I don’t know what was better. We were welcomed by an incredible team of people who explained the process for the evening, including how we select our meal, the sides, the service and the courses. I ate things that I never heard of or never dreamed of trying and one was more delicious than the next. I had a fish called amberjack that was by far one of the most delicious meals that I ever had, accented by polenta and a potato salad. The desserts were off the charts with a chocolate dipping selection, donuts and bread pudding. The drinks were terrific, the view magnificent and the service second to none. Make sure you make a reservation before you arrive in Cabo.
