I’ve been here a week and I’ve searched for legit mexican tacos. Finally I found this spot on the Marina. Thank you baby jebus!
Handmade tortillas fresh to order and amazing meats. Casual spot.
The place can only be reached by walking in the marina and has no street access. CASH ONLY but it’s cheap. You’re welcome gringos!

Pepe’s Tacos is known for having the best tacos in Puerto Vallarta and this is not an urban legend. This place is worth the walk through the marina. While we voyaged to Pepe’s we were told repeatedly that they were closed for the season. Blasphemous lies they told. There at the end of the marina stood Pepe’s in all it’s infamous glory, fully functioning and popping.
Amongst the funky décor and regular patrons lies what makes this place so great. The delicious tacos. All the tacos I tried webre delicious but one rises above the rest. Behold the Pastor!!! King of Tacos!!! Tender shredded bbq pork lay amongst cilantro and onions on a crisp tortilla. Every bite of this precious pork delicacy is memorable. There are no words to describe how good these tacos are. If you want great tacos then run to Pepe’s ASAP. Enjoy!!!

Delicious authentic tacos! We ordered chicken, spicy sausage, fajita beef, and the famous bbq pork el pastor tacos. Super cheap and friendly staff and the area is a beautiful walk after dinner!

Hate to post a 1-Star but for a place that advertises tacos in the name, the tacos were pretty bad. Not a restaurant more set up like an eatery at best. We travelled out of our way for what Unilocal said were great tacos, however I have a different opinion. The service was more or less lackluster but by looking at the place I didn’t expect much more. Anywhere else that is closer to you will sell tacos for the same price and will taste better.

I found this place thru Unilocal while looking for affordable places to eat.
1. Very affordable tacos. Their house specialty is BBQ Al Pastor tacos which is awesome!
2. They give you 4 kind of salsas. They’re spicy (disclaimer: I’ve tried a 10 spice level from an authentic Thai restaurant, and I would say that maybe their spice level is about a 4 or 5).
3. They are open late.
4. Very friendly service crew.
5. They give you complimentary tostadas with melted cheese.

Fantastic, authentic, affordable… I could go on and on. We first fell in taco love with Pepe’s accross from gas station downtownand when they opened this one, I was a happy guy! Order tacos al pastor, gringas, tacos arrachera, then more al pastor tacos! The staff is very professional and many are from the other Pepe’s.

We are here on vacation with the family and heard about this place so we decided to stop by. Didn’t realize it was cash only but had just enough to try it out. I must say the tacos are outstanding, some of the best I’ve had. The different salsas they had were excellent as well. Some mild and some pretty spicy. Nothing fancy but very good. Highly recommend. The only complaint is service was a little slow, but is expected outside of the daily grind. Also had 3 tired kiddos almost sleeping on the table before we got our food, but otherwise superb!

I recently got home from Mexico, and I just had to write this review. Pepe’s was great! Known for the best tacos in PV, Pepe’s did not disappoint. As a vegan, I had some trouble finding food in Mexico, but not at Pepe’s. I had the vegetarian shish kabob tacos and they rocked.

This is Pepe’s second spot in Puerto Vallarta, awesome Al Pastor and much more. In my opinion they are better than Pancho’s by at least one big pig.
This spot is swanky with a view of the Marina and the beats being dropped to keep your belly digesting.
Decent bar, good service, but lots of gringos based on the location… But overall great tastes and of course great prices; $ 15 pesos per Al Pastor.
