Allpress

Allpress is the ‘epitome’ of outstanding coffee. This understated café squeezed between ‘Bambina’ & ‘HouseHold Linens’ is always brimming with loyal fans (of the brand) & is heavily sold on Ponsonby Road (decaf, Ponsonby, Rangitoto, Supremo, Full City & Browns Mill Organic grind) — including in the neighbouring cafes. There is a couple of tables/​chairs inside to sit on while you wait and/​or stay. There is outdoor seating too, if you fancy people-​watching on the main road. Many regulars pick-​up their weekly fresh coffee grind here. Allpress also sell an assortment of biscuits, cooked daily on-​site. Gorgeous aromas always waft through the glass door! All the baristas are extremely knowledgable about coffee and make it with precision. Fab place to go — everyday of the week. Just saying, Unilocal

Great range of coffees and small selection of italian biscuits (think almond or pistachio). Nice couple of benches outside to watch the world go by. For those who know their coffee. And those that want to be seen. Or you can just walk by and inhale the aroma…

Fantastic little coffee shop for great coffee or beans. Be sure to request double shot as they aren’t standard. Their cinnamon scones on Saturdays are glorious.

What a fantastic addition to the Auckland coffee scene from a solid roaster of many years. Allpress beans have introduced many of us to the world of coffee over the decades. Now this boutique storefront brings some geek passion to their offerings.
Come here for perfectly prepared espresso, knowledgable and friendly staff who will talk coffee with you, and a real warm welcome.
Love the little bakery window that shows them making cookies, all sold front of house for your pleasure.
You guys should continue to explore and celebrate single origin coffees. The market place for these overseas is hot and I think many kiwis would love to know an Ethiopian mordecofe or the like.

Go to the source, it doesn’t get much better than this. Allpress is a coffee authority and their small coffee retail store on Ponsonby Road is one of the best places I have had Allpress coffee. There was one occasion where I came here with a friend of mine and spent over an hour on a little wooden bench outside the store window enjoying several long blacks. There isn’t much space and the only other seating is small stools which line the other side of the footpath but who cares, it is Allpress, take it and go if need be it is still enjoyable out of a take out cup.
There is a small range of biscuits inside but really the coffee takes center stage here. Allpress also hold after hours coffee appreciation classes for those who are wanting to work on their coffee making skills and also to educate coffee lovers more on their passion. It goes without saying of course that this is also a retail store and you can buy bags of Allpress to take home with you. Now I really want a coffee.

Allpress coffee has been doing Auckland proud for so many years, and this little café in Ponsonby has done Auckland even prouder. It’s everything you’d want in a café mainly because they know how to make darn good coffee. But the fact that they sell the most amazing chocolates and loads of brewing gear to make your own coffee at home makes it even better.
The staff are super nice, especially the café manager. They are genuine people who love making coffee to make people happy. How awesome is that! The staff are also really helpful when it comes to understanding how coffee works because Allpress are of course first and foremost roasters. This means you’ll never get a bad coffee from them.
They also have a few tables outdoors where you can sit and take in the sun and Ponsonby atmosphere. Dreamy.
