Really great breakfast. I had the bagel with cream cheese and jam. VERY Good. The bacon here was also the best I’ve had, nothing like anything in the states. Very hip décor and would be perfect atmosphere for any writer, artist, or thinker. As all NZ places, great coffee.

Revel without a cause. Other than serving breakfast. And maybe lunch. Actually, I don’t know what their cause is. They might donate all of their proceeds to an amazing cause. Or it might just go to some guy. I don’t know enough about this establishment to tell you what causes it supports. Poached eggs and toast here. Bomb dot com. Do it and you’ll be happy. Unless you hate eggs or you hate toast or you hate me and are just going to hate whatever I say you should do. I forgot that when you’re an American traveling abroad that you should always remember to be cautious and safe with all of your actions. You never know what might be risky in a new country like New Zealand. Like ordering an iced coffee. Be careful! It might come out as a milkshake. You might have to ask for a black coffee to replace it. You might get a dirty look. You might have been more careful you silly American. Not that I’m an American. I’m from outer space.

I frickin love this place! Great coffee, good food with healthy options, but above all, fantastically quirky interior with cool 60s music, the likes Tarantino would be happy to have in his film soundtracks. Highlights included Dick Dale and a Spanish version of ‘Summer Wine’ by Lee Hazelwood. Service was quick and friendly, and there are also sockets for laptops. Hurrah! I wasn’t expecting this in backpacker territory. The only downer is that the ‘free’ wifi is limited to 100 mb which goes before you know it. Still, it’s better than nothing and not sufficient for prevent this place getting 5 stars from me.

Coffee — Wow! :-) Eggs Benedict — Hollandaise sauce and poached eggs are too runny to my liking. Though the smoked salmon tastes good. Bread was not toasted nor heated. Overall, feels like they didn’t put love on the food.

Wow! Just went to Revel for the first time. What an interesting, quirky, 70s adorned paradise. There were limited Vegan options but the two we had were fantastic. I had the Revellers Breakfast and my husband had the Mushroom, Walnut and Lentil burger. Both were absolutely delicious. Miss 9 had Potato Wedges with Aioli. The music was good, the décor was fabulous and we had a really nice time. Thanks Revel!

We went to Revel for brunch after reading the Unilocal reviews. This placed lived up to every expectation. We even went back a second time because it was so good! We had the mushroom and eggs plate a couple time and the Revelers breakfast another time. The mushroom and eggs were really delicious. The eggs are cooked well with a velvety texture. The bread is delicious. The mushrooms are fresh and cooked well. The Revelers breakfast is delicious, but A LOT of food(to be expected from the description). It was all super delicious. The eggs were again cooked well. The bread was good as well. The plate comes with some potato croquettes that were flavorful. It also comes with a sampling of the breakfast meat, which were tasty. The bacon was on the salty side, but still delicious. I got a flat white and the mister got his long black both times. Each drink was made well and there were no disappointments. Our only regret was that we wished they were closer to our Hawaii home…

This café deserves the five stars… Coffee worth a trip cross town for… The hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict divine … Challenges were that the eggs were not runny but the slicing sauce countered that. The salmon eggs Benedict was $ 23 which is getting up there in price. The reason the café got the five stars apart from the food and coffee was the Gaming Machine!!! talk about taking you back to the 1980’s it was so perfect. Hence the posting of the machine rather than the food.

It’s on the expensive side for a café brunch but the food is fantastic and the coffee is great.

Mushroom scramble with hollandaise and potato wedges with a bottle of Gingerella for the win! Plus the bus boy is cute. It’s expensive but the food and the vibe is great!

The best place in the neighborhood for latte and smoothie. Delicious snacks are served here as well. Good place to catch up with friends.

I’ve spent more money on coffee at Revel this year(i’m a coffee addict) than on many other things. Coffee is always great, service is very personal(i never have to say what i want to order) and thats what ticks the boxes for me. I have never eaten there, but i suggest to check this place out if you are in the area.

This place is a gem! I cannot believe I spent almost a year in Auckland, living 5 minutes from K’road and have only been to this café today… To be fair, it did not look very appealing from the outside… But the place was recommended to me by a friend and after reading the existing reviews, I felt I could not afford to not try it. Ordered the mushrooms and scrambled eggs on toast: the turkish bread was lightly toasted and covered with bountiful scrambled eggs, sauteed mushrooms and lots of parmesan shavings. I washed this down with the perfect latte and unfortunately ran out of stomach space to try their peanut butter slice… As I always say, next time… My only regret is to not have been to this place earlier. Friendly service, awesome food and good prices in a funky environment, what else does one need?!

Quirky little café with some awesome breakfasts. The service was great. We had their mushrooms and toast and the buckwheat apple cinnamon pancakes. Don’t miss out on their homemade hot sauce– it’s got a pretty good amount of heat to it!

Just visiting Auckland and needed a convenient place for breakfast. Found Revel on Unilocal and decided to check it out. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was great. You don’t see Huevos Rancheros often in ANZ so I decided to give it a go. They did not disappoint.

My obnoxious hipster friends love it, my quietly earnest greenie friends love it, normal people love it, hell even I quite like it, and I hate everything hipster greenies like. The food is excellent, the coffee is strong and also excellent, the staff are lovely and greet you like an old friend if you go there more than once in a calendar year, and the place itself is organically cluttered and lively in a way that Mac’s bars try and fail to manufacture. Plus they have revolving art up on the walls which is varied and interesting and also for sale, which works out well for everyone. All the stuff we’d like café culture to be, without all the generic wank that café culture actually is. This place is pretty special.

Good coffee and an earthy vibe, Revel café blends well with the urban hippy character of its surrounding merchants. French toast is what I always order wherever I go, I have had more French toast at more different places than anyone else I know by a very large margin. I am somewhat of an authority of French toast in Auckland, and let me tell you, the French toast at Revel is amongst the best I have tried. Honestly, I have made women fall in love with me by taking them to Revel and ordering them the French toast. Bacon lovers beware, their French toast is vegetarian, served with a fruit platter.

Revel, ah you beautiful thing. I have been coming here for over six years and it’s always so good. You are always, I’m not kidding, always greeted with a smile, a with their customers in way that is so effective and totally fits in with their quirky, hippy, but awesome style. Their cabinet is enough to turn anyone vegan. It’s packed with scrummy treats, salads, paninis and on the odd occasions, the most amazing vegan cupcakes! Their Peanut Butter cake is to die for. The interior is reminiscent of a Green Party member’s bach but what this means is it has a really welcoming, warm feeling to it that a lot of Auckland Cafes are missing nowadays. Their staff really know how to engage with their customers, they always greet you with a cheeky remark and welcoming conversation.

I love Revel, and it’s exactly the kind of place I love to support. Delicious food, free range eggs, awesome vegetarian and vegan options including those yummy looking slices in the window by the counter. A place of character, with interesting art on the walls, dinky table numbers and, if you manage to get the right seat, magnetic poetry. It’s a cosy nook on K’Rd with a couple of tables outside or tables and padded benches inside. The last time I ate there I had an amazingly delicious smoothie and mushrooms on toast — divine.

I not only eat at Revel all the time, but I recommend it to anyone who visits the city and meet visitors from out of town at the café. I love how rickety and mismatched all the furniture is, how you never get the same cup and saucer combo twice, and the fact that your table number might be a triceratops, robot dog or wiggly wooden toy, depending on the server’s mood. Revel’s other features worth noting are the beer crate shelves, video game table and strung up toasters, fried from overuse and hanging on the wall. I go here for the great coffee, tasty Mexican-inspired food and plethora of vegetarian and vegan options. Vegan baking! Always a winner! If I haven’t sold you on the food and décor, head along there — I’m sure the quirky quips from the staff will have you coming back again and again in no time.
