Awesome service, we booked last minute and they gave us a little table in the court yard which was lovely. The chicken pâté was to die for! We each ordered a pasta main — servings were generous, pasta was well cooked, only thing is that the spaghetti meat ball sauce was a little tangy for my palate. Definitely recommend the desserts, we had crème brûlée, tiramisu and lemon tart: D

Dined here about 6 months ago & was actually impressed with the rich tomato ravioli & other items we got. Yep the interior is tired /outdated but the service was great as was the food. The menu is, let’s say… V lengthy. This place is unpretentious to the core & I probably wouldn’t go back in a hurry but I would go back!

I love Italian food, pasta, pizza, all of it, and Sal rose has never let me down as a consistently awesome Italian restaurant. Snuck out of the way in Mt Albert, the food there is fantastic, and well priced for what you get. I would thoroughly recommend the meatballs, whether you have them with pasta, or on pizza, they are spectacular. I also love the little extras, like the Italian language learning tapes that are played over the speakers in the bathrooms… It’s the little things really, and Sal Rose hits them all.

Mt. Albert isn’t yet the gastronomic hub some people would like it to be, but it’s on its way. Helping this along is Sal Rose, tucked away near Rocket Park(is it actually called Rocket Park? The one with the rocket-shaped playground. Anyone who’s ever been to Mt. Albert will know what I’m talking about), Sal Rose has been there for years, maintaining an air of class and authentic Italian cuisine. And you can even drink Peroni and grappa with it to make you feel extra authentic. The staff are friendly and capable. I went with my dad, who unaccountably hates garlic(I know, WTF right?) and they were careful to ensure his bizarre needs were met. Why he suggested Italian when he doesn’t like garlic, I’ve got no idea…

Yum! Good Italian food. What more do you need to know? Hopefully not much because I can’t remember what I had, just that it was yum. Have you ever had Italian food? Yup. I had some kind of pasta with some kind of sauce and someone else had risotto. Someone else had spaghetti bologese. It was all yum. The staff were nice. I had some kind of sweet fruity mocktail(proof yet again that apparently I’m a child — if you’ve read any of my other reviews you would be forgiven for thinking the only things I eat are chips, milkshakes and banana splits). There was nothing particularly special about it but I’d go again.
