This is a beautiful store with many different options from home decoration to clothing. All of their items are stunning, and the ambiance inside the store is calming. The people working there are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the store’s items. A definite gem in Auckland — I decorated my whole room with goods from there!

The Third Eye is an Indian inspired store housing all sorts of beautiful garments, jewellery, accessories, footwear and ornaments. You can find anything from silk summer dresses to kaftans and harem pants, real silver and precious stoned jewellery, clutch bags, linen, scarves, brilliant beads, ornamnetla hangings and belly-dance outfits. I personally have shopped here more times than I can count. My favourite purchase was a multicoloured durry mat that still takes up residence in my bedroom and only cost me $ 25. Due to their huge variety of stock, some of the best gifts can also be found in this store. However the Third Eye isn’t just a great place to find eclectic clothing and homewear, it also represents the eclectic culture of KRoad and its inhabitants. Situated right beside St Kevin’s Arcade, The Third Eye with its great wooden eye sculpture, patterned tiled floor and incense aroma is the epitome of KRoad.

This place is heaven for anyone who loves beads, hemp accessories, scarves and essence. On a trip to K Road I decided it was time I got to know the third eye shop instead of just admiring it from outside. As soon as I walked in I nearly did my victory dance when I saw the section with beads for $ 10. I love beads, everything about them. I love beads in all shapes, sizes and colour! Third eye had a variety of these beads plus chunky bracelets. The price was also good considering that other places try to change an arm and a leg for anything that isn’t ‘mainstream’. After spending close to an hour trying on the bracelets and bracelets plus sniffing all the essence and candles I walked out of The Third Eye a happy customer. I am happy to say the candles and essence I purchased there have served as excellent healers during stressful times.

If the idea of being soaked with patchouli to the point where it stays in your hair all day, head to The Third Eye. The staying power of this smell is pretty indicative of the place itself, which has stood proudly on K’Road for more than ten years. Now I am definitely not someone that could be considered a hippie, but there is something pretty enticing about The Third Eye(NOT the smell, just to get that straight). I’ve found myself on many occasions in there trying on different metal bracelets, slinging necklaces over my head and fantasising about the idea of being able to pull off a long, flowing dress. While I haven’t bought a huge amount of stuff from The Third Eye, I am completely obsessed with the brightly coloured satchels they had there over summer. If I had enough money for one of these pricey pieces, I would be a very happy chappy.

Though«jewelry» and«fashion» kind of qualify as adequate categories for The 3rd Eye, a more accurate one would be «esoteric eastern spiritual artifacts and shawls.» Here is a non-complete list of items I’ve bought, or strongly considered buying from The 3rd Eye: 1. Hemp wallet. 2. Hemp satchel. 3. Hemp pencil case. 4. Hemp shirt. 5. Hemp slippers. 6. Every incense ever. 7. Tiny bronze buddha. 8. Varnished buddhist prayer beads. 9. Little cat thing. 10. Headband(various). 11. Friendship bracelet x infinity. 12. Small ceremonial knife. 13. Polished quartz piece. 14. Rustic metal elephant. 15. Limitless options in nehru collars. 16. Keyring featuring smiling likeness hindu elephantine god of wisdon, Ganesh. I am down with the cause.

Follow the heavy scent of incense down Karangahape Road and you’ll find yourself at The Third Eye. This is just the place if you need to pick up some floaty, ethnic-print cotton skirts, a Buddha statue, or a colourful ceramic doorknob. There’s also a range of silk clothing towards the back of the store, plenty of crystals, and of course, a solid stock of incense in its many forms. But The Third Eye is probably best known for its jewellery — this place is absolutely packed with earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. They have semiprecious pieces in sterling silver, and well as really reasonably-priced wooden, glass, and resin options. Peace, love, and jewellery dude!
