I can’t stand the stuff that passes for coffee in Vienna. Or any German-speaking country I’ve visited, for that matter. It’s always so burnt, and foam usually looks like my kitchen sink when I am in the middle of doing dishes. NOTTHISPLACE. This was by far the best coffee I’ve had in Europe(outside Italy) so far. Their«pay-what-you-think-it’s-worth» policy is genius… people who can’t taste the difference pay fair market value, but people who CAN end up paying a little bit more, as I did. I am so happy my flight out of Europe is out of Vienna, so I can come back here and have another cup or two.

Für den Kaffee zahlt man hier so viel, wie man möchte. Der Ansturm ist entsprechend groß, der Kaffee exzellent.

So awesome this coffee You order a cappuccino, so creamy and tasty Can’t believe it!!! The best You pay what you think it’s worth!!! Definitely a hidden, but must go place for coffee junkies!!! Not a typical coffee house, white, puristic and reduced to the necessary!!! Coffee grinders and coffee machines What else is necessary?!

The best cappuccino I’ve ever had in my whole life. Ever.* Pay as you wish. Keep it simple: an espresso, a cappuccino, a caffe latte. They recently started serving Eiskaffee(English speakers: this is a coffee-float, ice cream+coffee), and tea. They also have a muesli and yogurt bar, and paninis made with prosciutto from this huge chunk of meat. The paninis are good, but go for the coffee. Srsly. Seating is limited, and there’s no bathroom here, but this place gets five stars anyway because I’d give it six or so otherwise. Unfortunately it closes when the University closes, so on the weekends and holidays(including Christmastime and now the summer months). Its regulars include a mix of students, people who were students until very recently, random hipsters, more random hipsters, Young Urban Professionals, and tourist hipsters who heard about this place through the hipster home shopping network.(Seriously, how do American tourist hipsters hear about it?! It wasn’t on Unilocal.) And then there are just coffee snobs and probably like three«normal people» who go here, too. Fortunately and unfortunately I have been ruined for coffee for life, now detecting anything less than perfection(I came here daily for like 8 weeks straight…) The next best thing in Vienna(that I’ve had), where I can get my fix when Couture(aka«Crack Coffee») is closed, is Orlando di Castello. Nevertheless, even if Couture ruins you for life for coffee, you really must go here. They don’t have an official website, but here’s their facebook page: *And just because I’m American doesn’t mean I don’t know good(or bad) coffee when I taste it!

This was a very different coffee experience for me. Firstly the design of the store is very different from anything else i have experienced, very interesting i must say. Then it seems there are NO actual prices for the coffee, you pay want you want to pay, at least that is what Max the unhealthy, talkative Vienna boy told me, not sure if he was pulling my leg or not. But i did like the place and i do intend to return there and experience it some more and get a better feel for the place.
