Pirkerlebkuchen wird schon seit 300 Jahren in Handarbeit produziert und der höhere Preis ergibt sich auch an dem hohen Honiganteil der 50% ist. Den Honig schmeckt man natürlich raus und ich zahle dafür gerne ein bisschen mehr für bessere Qualität. Das Geschäft beim Stephansplatz ist sehr nett hergerichtet und falls es nicht gerade die Wintersaison ist und weniger Lebkuchen gegessen wird, kann man im Geschäft noch andere Produkte mit Honig und von Bienen finden. Bienenwachskerzen, Honigmet, Seifen, Edelbrände und vieles mehr.
Nicht nur für Lebkuchenliebhaber ein Besuch wert!

I make sure to stop by everytime I visit Vienna. If you have a sweet tooth or need a gift to bring home, this is a place for you. This company makes traditional Austrian gingerbread for almost 200 years now. It’s the real thing, old fashioned home made gingerbread with spices, honey and jam or marzipan filling. They also sell other honey products not only edible, but also all kinds of balms, soaps and candles. Plus you can buy here some traditional hand made decorations. I recommend their honey candy with propolis or eucalyptus. And don’t miss their catalogue, it’s a piece of art.

I give up, this is where diets die! Seriously I had one of their gingerbread desserts that are covered in chocolate and boy was it delicious. I had one bite thinking it would be a disappointment and boy was I wrong. I had to run back in and buy 3 more just to satisfy my temporary chocolate need!
People you have to try it if u get a chance! Also their staff during my visit were super nice!
