GENUINE fine dining, REASONABLE prices, SOOTHING atmosphere, PAMPERING service; this is one of the most extraordinary dining experiences in the Caribbean. The wine list is brief, but long on quality and value, and accompanied by an exceptional spirits selection. If you give advanced notice, and bring a decent sized group, the kitchen will craft a tasting menu, tailored to your tastes and budget; the only hard part is pairing the wines from the somewhat limited list. The brevity of the vino slections aside, everything else works well.

Definitivamente que este rest es de alta cocina. Lo primero es q la descripción del costo no es apropiada. Los platos principales van de $ 26 – 36. Comí de aperitivo gnocci con escargots en salsa de trufas. Wow! Increíble. Plato principal lo de ternera con pancetta. Suculento y delicioso. La carne estaba en su punto. De las mejores terneras que me he comido. Postre charlotte de manzana. Tambn imcreible. La selección de vinos es extensa. El servicio de primera categoría. El espacio es agradable y callado. Desde la iluminación, hasta las sillas. Realmente uno pde relajarse y disfrutar. Si te gusta el buen comer, y estas en San Jua. tienes que intentarlo.

would go back. i liked the food for not being overly fussy. simple, beautifully presented, satisfying. review may be skewed because our friends are friends with Chef Ariel, who came out to say ‘hi’. and Chef Ariel decided the menu for us.

Food and wine are outstanding. The waiter– tall, middle aged, black rimmed glasses: out of a movie type of character– knowledgeable but serious beyond reason and makes you a little uncomfortable with his inability to smile and encourage a happy patron.
Had a corporate dinner and really enjoyed all the food. Atmosphere is OK– its nice but its off the lobby of the Courtyard Marriott– so the high end feel is not matched with a bargain priced hotel.
A good choice for a quiet, restrained dinner. Corporate dinner best, quiet romantic dinner OK, laughing yet refined date– go somewhere else.

Augusto’s is, at least, one of the finest restaurants I have enjoyed in my several trips to San Juan. The chef is a Puerto Rican treasure. His halibut with champagne sauce is amazing. His pine nut encrusted scallops with basil espuma is without parallel. He also does incredible Puerto Rican inspired appetizers. Of given the opportunity do not miss his salmon tartare on a yautia crisp

Augustos is an institution in Puerto Rico, the place to go in San Juan for extraordinary cuisine. With its European flair, this is one of the most elegant and glamorous restaurants in Puerto Rico. It is set on the lobby level of a 15-story hotel in Miramar. Menu items are concocted from strictly fresh ingredients. Chef Ariel has carried the tradition of chef Augusto Scheidrer of classical european fine dining with an international flair. It has consistently won top honors in the island for fine diining. This is definetly one of the best places to eat in Puerto Rico.
