The reason why I rate it a one star is because the service sucks very poor services bin waiting for my food for 45 min the server hasn’t came and ask if I want more water or if we need anything not impressed at all

The food stunk. Dirty stinky. Used to be good. They don’t want to treat locals to treat Americans badly. Spend your money some where else.

Excellente. I had the combination with 2 fish and 2 shrimp tacos. Delicious! Highly recommend. I likednthe crunch of the shrimp and how fresh it all tasted. Bar none the best tacos I’ve ever had.

Currently here and I am loving it. I had the shrimp & plantains with red beans and rice. Our server was John & he was very in and out, but affective. He recommended our meals which were so good. If your in old San Juan & choose this establishment, ask for John. He knows his stuff.

This place was recommended to us by a drunk along the pier he said it was the best seafood in town. So we walked the three blocks and the walk was worth it. My wife had a whole pink snapper, when I say whole I mean whole head and all. I would say that she loved because after cleaning the bones she sucked on the head(of the fish). I had steamed mixed seafood, lobster, fish, octopus, prawns, shrimp, calms and mussels with rice. Service was great I will go again.

We were in San Juan for a day, and I was looking for a seafood place, and Unilocal helped me to pick this restaurant. I’m so glad. I’m not a taco guy at all. At all. But every review mentioned them, so I decide to live a little, and try new things and we ordered fish and shrimp tacos… Heaven. They are nothing like your typical Mexican tacos. They are simply amazing. The fish, the fillings, the souse are so tasty and match so well… If I could I would stop there every day and had a few fish tacos. The rest of the restaurant was surprisingly good too. All the food was good, reasonably fast service, great mojitos, cool interior and atmosphere. Congrats to the owner/s.

Their fish tacos are unique. We had the mahi mahi and the fish was only okay in terms of freshness and fry. The coleslaw in the taco was excellent and had little bits of lobster. Drinks were lacking in booze :/and their tostones were only okay. The ketchup mayo sauce is BOMB. 30ish for 4 small tacos, 1 drink and 1 order of tostones. Ehhhh… After traveling all over PR old San Juan is hiking up prices like crazy!

I LOVE seafood so when even the puerto rican locals say this place has the freshest seafood i thought«we have to go there». Although this place provided a good meal, it unfortunately came up short for my standards. My husbands ordered the raved fish tacos and they were good but not showstoppers. I had the fried fish,(red snapper — catch of the day) and it was very fresh, they even brought the raw fish out to show me how fresh it was! It was good, fry was good, but the sides… they were just ok. their tostones were sub par and their signature rice(mixed red beans and rice) was way too salty! Overall I would say this is a big tourist joint. Its fine for a meal but I wont be returning.

We stopped by this place to enjoy seafood. We were pleased with the freshness of the seafood, the portions were excellent for sharing, and the variety of salsas were stellar! The sangria was fantastic and we would definitely dine here again!

Fish tacos. Amazing. This was a great find. We are here for lunch. I would come back. Nautical atmosphere. My wife had the fresh Mahi. Just a tad overlooked. But the rice and beans were delicious.

I came here to see if these were really the best tacos in town and I have to say… yes they are! I had the combo of two fish and two shrimp tacos, the fish was amazing! The shrimp was good, but I highly recommend going with the fish! The place gets extremely crowded, so plan on waiting awhile for a table and then some more for the food to arrive but trust me the tacos are worth the wait! My daughter had the asopao de camarones and it was good, I also had the octopus salad and it was ok, a little too much oil for me.

The only thing you need to know about this restaurant — FISHORSHRIMPTACOS! Holy cow, these were bar none the best I have ever had in my life. I ordered their 4 tacos, 2 shrimp &2 fish. Any review you read says how great their fish tacos are but I was not sold, and I usually prefer shellfish to regular fish. I will tell you though, I ended up ordering 2 more fish tacos after I finished my first 3. Yes I ordered 4 to begin with, but my wife stole 1 and would not give it back! I honestly don’t know what she ordered and it did not matter, FISHTACOS(or shrimp) are the only thing you need to be concerned with here, and they are absolutely the best without an ounce of doubt. And the shrimp tacos were also amazing, but the fish… oh my. Great service, our waitress was so friendly! My only warning is that this place is a little loud & tables are close together, I felt like I was eating with a big group although it was just my wife and I. Also we arrived early and did not wait for a seat, but the line was so long when we left. The food is WELLWORTHIT, but make sure to arrive early or call ahead for reservations if they accept them.

We were hungry and craving some Puerto Rican food. I’d like to say I found this place through Unilocal but actually, I found this the Old School way… I stopped a local on the street and asked them where I should go for dinner. The sweet local let me know this place is known for their seafood, hence the name«Sea Cave». To start, we had empanadas, which over here they call turnovers. My favorite was the crab turnovers. You can taste the fresh crab meat. Delish! Everyone ordered something different. I ordered steak monfongo. BIG mistake. It was so bland and my steak chewy. My friend’s ordered the shrimp and fish tacos, which was soo good. It had a spicy coleslaw in it that was very flavorful and just a hint of a kick to it. My other friend ordered a fish with some yellow sauce, which was also delicious. Seafood is definitely the way to go here. We all ordered mojitos, which were all muddled to perfection. They don’t split checks as a lot of places in PR don’t, which is not what bothered me so much. It was the incredibly slow service. Overall, I had better dining experiences in PR. But if you must dine here, I highly recommend the crab turnovers and the fish tacos. They were really good!

this is the only spot we hit up in the old part of Puerto Rico… and it was night time… so we never actually got the see the area. More the reason to return… right? what a night this was!!! after a day in the pool with bevvies in hand… a large group of us piled into 2 taxi vans… this is where we ended up. Our fearless leader had been here before on his previous trips to Puerto Rico. We took over a long table outside. under 3 umbrellas… beautiful and warm! drinks and apps arrived and whoosh… rain started pouring! it was euphoric! the rest of the group wasn’t down for a meal in the rain(and the waitress waited at the door with food in hand confused about what she should do)… she quickly put together a table inside for all of us!!! we tried a bunch of a lot of different things… i tasted a calamari rice dish and a squid ink dish… both were amazing! i remember tasting different things as they were passed by me… not sure what but we loved it all!!! i hear the fish tacos were fab… wish i had ordered those! great meal great people!

Delicious, quaint and packed coz it’s just soooo good!!! We came with a local PR friend and she didn’t lead us wrong. From ambiance to service to wine selection to price, everything was perfect on a Saturday afternoon. Highly recommend … We shared appetizers including fish tacos. Yum.

Quick stop on our last hour in Puerto Rico after a week. Calamari sweet chili, fish tacos and a mahi mahi turnover. Another great meal on our trip. Flavorful, pastry lite and crisp, breading on fish just melts in your mouth. Great balance. Service quick and friendly. Waiter suggested the turnover.

I LOVE this place — it has the most delicious fish tacos ever! Went here several months ago and have been dreaming about it ever since so we had to hit it up again when we were back in town. Out of this world, fantastic fish tacos(they are enormous, I could barely eat two). The hot sauce and salsa selection is amazing. We’ve also gotten the calamari and mahi bites as apps. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Old San Juan.

When my husband wanted to eat here I was really reluctant. It looked sort of hole in the wall and the chairs and tables looked really cheap, plus there was sushi right next door… But I went for it anyway and ignored the fishy smells. The servers were nice. I read the the other reviews and ordered the shrimp appetizer and it was amazing!!! I was so happy and wanted tons more. I ordered the fish tacos and they were so much bigger than I expected! I should have ordered just one! It was delicious too. My husband got the steak and my 2.5 yr old loved it so much she ate the entire thing so he had to order another! I had some too and the sauce was to die for. I hope to return next year because this was the best food I’ve had in a long while!

Came here around on a Tuesday around 1pm. Ambience: Décor is has a glow in the dark/underwater theme. Crowd was mostly couples and families at the time. Service: Our waiter was polite and helpful. Food: I had the seafood rice which was quite yummy but couldn’t hurt if it had more seafood. My cousin had the fish tacos, which were good but I’m not crazy about deep fried fish in tacos. Sangria was just okay. Nothing amazing. If you want seafood and in old San Juan, you should give this place a try.
