Holy cow

My wife and I ate here on May 18 2015. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce and lettuce. It came out very flavorful and just as ordered. They have a nice spice they seem to add to the chicken that I enjoyed and I am a very conservative eater. My wife ordered a simple cheeseburger with cheddar cheese and ketchup. It came out with some added lettuce and mayo. It was larger than the average burger we found on a couple occasions in Switzerland and the quality of beef was noticeably better. She enjoyed her burger and I also tried it and found it to be very good. Nicely baked potato wedges came with the «menu» meal and we choose to drink from their «syrup» fountain drink machine. The drinks are not on the level of what we know as fountain drinks but the flavors were good and added the desired sweet taste to accompany our meal. The restaurant interior is simple and what you would find in hamburger specific restaurants in the states. No complaints. The staff was great. All that we met spoke English very well and understood how we annoying Americans order food. It was nice to check out mentally for a short time and taste a bit of home. I would recommend this restaurant to all. And don’t you dare choose that American franchise with the big yellow M that is around the corner. This place is much better! Like every restaurant in Switzerland it was expensive. We paid 40 Francs for our simple meal. In comparison it was a better option than the 50 Franc — 2 pizza dinners that are absurdly common.

Très très bon !! J’ai pris le «Elvis Blue Cheese»: un pain Buns maison très bon, un steak avec du gorgonzola fondu, du bacon et du confit d’oignons ! Les frites étaient super bonnes aussi ! Je fais ma difficile et je né mets que ⁴⁄₅ car il n’y a pas assez de tables et qu’on a pas pu s’asseoir (mais finalement dehors c’était sympa aussi tellement il faisait chaud a l’intérieur) et puis moi qui suit fan de steak cuisson bleu, la il était un peu cuit pour moi (mais c’est vraiment un goût personnel) donc voilà je conseille fortement cette adresse !

Being from California, with the ever present allure of In-​n-​out burger, I was a bit wary of going to a burger place in Lausanne. I was however pleasantly surprised. The burger patties were thick, well cooked, and delicious. If I had to make a parallel to a burger place back in the states I would probably say their burgers are closest to five guys. I got the avocado burger, which was good except the avocado was just ok (although I probably have a bit higher expectation of avocados being from SoCal). The fries were very excellent, fairly thick but very crisp. I also had their in house beer (called the burger brew) and it was pretty good. Overall if you are just really craving a burger in Switzerland I would recommend it.

As I burger enthusiast I was very eager to check out the local Swiss burger joints and was happy to find the holy cow chain. I tried the españa and my girlfriend had the veggi burger. The burger was good, but could have used more veggies to freshen things up, the bread was rather dry. Meat tasted nice and the fries were good. If you consider the price though it is only an average experience and I would have expected a finer burger creation.

The best hamburgers that you can actually get in Lausanne, some ‘muricans will say that the hamburgers are «not as good as in the USA» but they forget that we are in Switzerland and that independent FastFood are really rare.

*** And to the reviewer ‘Strickler’ with his ONE review: it does not matter if a burger place is independent and not easy to come by wherever you are… if it is not good, it is not good. You don’t go to a burger place to eat their politics LOL**
Mmmm…WAY overrated. The meat was not flavorful nor did it have the charbroiled taste that makes a burger a ‘burger.’ They also put some kind of slightly sweet-​sour thing on it, I can’t figure out what it is yet. It seems like some kind of sweet pickle, though when I asked about it they said they do not put anything like that on the burger. I’ve tried the Big Cheese twice, and they both tasted the same way.
Mediocre. But perhaps it is hard for me to judge burgers fairly though??? I grew up in the US eating mad delicious burgers done right, and that were easy to come by and I am not talking fast food ones.
Far a good burger (Lausanne standards), L’Etoile Blanche deserves mention.
All in all, in Lausanne, however, they never cook the bacon as I ask, to crispy delicious state. It’s this gummy rubberband mess. Also, I think they all skip the necessary step of brushing melted butter on the burger patty during grilling.

Hier gibt es die besten Burger in Lausanne. Als Student sogar einigermassen bezahlbar und im Menü mit all you can drink sirop sehr empfehlenswert.

I wouldn’t as far as saying they make the best burgers in town (I didn’t get the chance to go somewhere else ;)), but they are increadible delicious! I had the Chicken Bacon Avocado with crisps and loved it all to the end ;)
So if you are in town and up for a burger do not miss this one !!

Une très bonne surprise à Lausanne ! Un restaurant/​fastfood avec une vraie personnalité un décors sympa et une nourriture qui vaut le coup.
J’ai tenté un big cheese (?) avec une sauce perso salsa (il est possible de demander la sauce que l’on souhaite dans son burger) et des sirop maison à volonté (on peut se servir seul à la machine).
Bref très bon burger avec des frites maison, une bonne ambiance et du personnel sympa !
