McDonald’s

Toilettes à code. Il faut consommer pour pisser (je consomme dès fois chez McDo, mais là j’allais juste utiliser leur urinoir). L’employé formaté par MCDo m’a poliment expliqué que je pouvais acheter un croissant pour 1.20.- Je refuse ce chantage, je refuse cette politique du toujours payer… idem d’ailleurs à la gare en face… Lamentable.

Damn! Not sure I should be proud of getting the dukedom here but I’m slowly realizing that Unilocal isn’t too popular around these parts, so I must do my part and try to change that!
Anyway, what could I possibly say about a McDonald’s? It’s basically the same exact menu BUT with exorbitant prices! The combos here are on average CHF 11 — 13 which is roughly $ 14 — 15! The coffee, pastries, sweets are equally expensive, so I’d recommend this place only if you’re nearby and there’s nothing else open (my case in both visits).
So here some other things worth noting: because of the location (right in front of the train station) and the long hours (it’s the only place around that’s open after midnight), the restaurant is usually packed and mostly with loud teenagers. The place looks nice but I guess that due to the high volume of customers, it isn’t the cleanest as it isn’t rare to find stuff left on tables and garbage on the floor.
Staff is friendly and seem to speak a variety of different languages which should help those who can’t speak French.
I guess that’s it. I’m surprised I wrote so much about a McD’s but I guess that’s what happens when you’re jet legged and can’t fall asleep!

Le McDonald’s se trouve à quelques mètres de la gare de Lausanne. En plus de la plupart des McDonald’s de Suisse, il y a un bar McCafe avec ses patisseries (qui sont pas mal mais né vaudront jamais de la vraie patisserie) et la possibilité de commander soi-​même à des bornes.
Le fast food s’étend sur deux étages et une petite terrasse. Lors des heures de pointes, si vous voulez manger rapidement, ce McDonald’s est a éviter. Il y a beaucoup de mondes et donc une longue attente.

This McDonald is only a few meters from Lausanne railway station. I sometimes tried McCafe products such as coffee, espresso, cakes (strawberry cupcake, macaron, muffin) and found them just OK! Taste isn’t bad. Of course it’s not to compare with good quality patisserie/bakery’s cakes! If you want to buy fast food, this location is often crowded during rush hours! Service is very friendly.

Un grand McDonald, idéalement placé face à la gare, et qui à le gros avantage d’être situé juste au dessus d’une grande salle d’arcades.
