Restaurant Mustek

ok. bedienung freundlich, flotter service, nur irgendwie kantinen-​flair. dass die sauce hausgemacht war, bezweifle ich sehr, das rindfleisch und der knödel waren aber ok. eine noch, akzeptable, touristenfalle, wie ich denke, aber ich geh dort nimmer hin.

Sehr leckere typisch tschechiche Küche mit langer Wartezeit
Südlich des Wendzelsplatz hat es uns in das Restaurant Mustek zur Mittagszeit verschlagen, als wir Hunger auf die leckere tschechiche Küche bekommen haben.
Die Karte ist sehr sehr umfangreich und bietet eine Vielzahl landestypischer Vorspeisen, Hauptspeisen und auch Desserts. Ich habe mich für in Emmentaler marinierte Hähnchenschenkel mit Kräuterdipp und Gemüsesticks entschiedenn und ohne Spaß: das waren die BESTEN Hähnchenflügel meines Lebens. Dazu wurde noch eine große Portion verschiedenes Brot gereicht.
Ein Highlight waren auch die beweglichen Tüche vor dem Restaurant, so das man gemütlich hin und her schaukeln konnte. Weniger gut war die Wartezeit, die fast eine ganze Stunde gedauert hat. Geschmeckt hat es uns trotzdem und auch die Preise waren in Ordnung. Dafür gibt es auf jeden Fall verdiente 4 Sterne.

Yes, this restaurant is located on one of the busiest streets in Prague. And sure, there is a hooded squire out front tempting passers by on the street to enter. But it is worth it. The restaurant’s comforting aroma and warm interior are so welcoming and homey. The garlicky potato soup belly-​warming but not too heavy. The goulash is really full of flavor, with tender bites of beef. Bread, served with the meal, comes out warm and fresh and perfect for sopping up the juices and sauces of these heavy Germanic dishes. I would highly recommend this place. It’s accessible, delicious and pretty much perfect for any navigationally-​challenged visitors and meanderers.

This is my first time in Prague, and per friends and guidebooks I did not have high expectations on food or service. That being said, I loved this place! Right between old town and lesser town, restaurant mustek is perfectly positioned to snatch tourists looking to try the local fare. I ordered the standard sized Pilsner Urquell, while my companion ordered the «kid’s size». I highly recommend the beef goulash, it’s delicious and the presentation is remarkable. This service is the best we’ve had, We came back twice!

Easy access. Good menu with pictures. Average food. I had the veal. I was expecting German style schnitzel. Not quite it. I was disappointed.

I come to Prague all the time for work and am often entertaining fellow international visistors (often Americans) who are new to Prague. I’ve always avoided the ‘toursity’ parts of town, but just came to this restaurant for the first time — I feel foolish for having not been there before. It was great and I highly recommend it.
1. MENUS. The menus had pictures and were in four languages. They were easy to understand! I’m all for being local and it felt like a cop out, but it sure was easy to order.
2. APPETIZERS. The appetizer list was long, looked tasty and had most of the traditional Czech starters (except for garlic soup). We split a ham appetizer that was tasty.
3. DRINKS. My colleague ordered a beer and I had a glass of wine (which came in an airline bottle). Expectations were met, not exceeded.
4. SERVICE. The service was quick, there was a TV showing the chef preparing meals. The server wasn’t particularly friendly, but was knowledgeable and fast.
5. NOVELTY. My colleague had a pig knuckle on a spit. I had the ‘King Charles IV’ which was steak, pork and veggies served on a sword. Everything was very tasty!

resto de touriste a la sortie de metro tres frequente de mustek. et malgres cela j ai mange 2 escalopes milanese (LOL) et mon amie des pates aux legumes digne des meilleurs restos italien. acceuil vraiment sympa, biere bonne (normal ca) petit digeo gratuit en fin de repas finalement endroit tres sympa, mais les prix se rapprochent plus de l europe (810 kc, 33EUR a midi)

Great place. The staff is really friendly. Their Homemade Poppy Seed Cake is a must try!
