I first encountered Tres Islas over 10 years ago when I was speculating RE in Cabo. After eating at one of my favorite restaurant, I stumbled upon after taking a walk. It began with a food cart with the best mariscos now it’s a full blown restaurant but the mariscos are the still the best. Try the Agua Chile with scallops out of this world!

Definitely one of the best places we’ve eaten for fish/seafood! My grilled fresh sea bass was perfectly done and delicious — huge portion that I shouldn’t have finished, but did! Couldn’t waste that deliciousness! Very casual, local gem in a neighborhood off the beaten path — mariachis wandering in, locals gathering for beer. Super great local vibe! and super cheap! I think our entire meal with two entrees, 2 beers was under $ 21. The seafood platter looked amazing — next time.

Listen, this is not a 5 star restaurant in a hotel. It is in the the old town city but the seafood is fresh and excellent. The service is great too. Give it a try, and you will not be disappointed. We will come back.

This place is the real deal if you want to get authentic Mexican food in Cabo. It was the best Mexican I have ever and will ever eat… no joke. The wait staff are attentive and friendly and can speak very good English. The shrimp ceviche was the most amazing ceviche I have ever eaten in my life. The shrimp fajitas and the fish tacos were also incredible. It’s worth the walk/transport down the seemingly rough looking side street from the main drag. Seriously, just go!

Such an awesome seafood place!!! Fresh and affordable and great centralized location! The micheladas were also very tasty. This place was recommended to us by a local. So good we had to go twice.

Highly recommend for SEAFOOD! After being overwhelmed over the abundant of options for places to eat in Cabo, I asked several tour guides/locals for their favorite restaurants. All them said, «Tres Islas» because it serves the best seafood in town. The place is only a few blocks away from the Marina, but tucked away into the area where the locals live/eat. My boyfriend and I ordered the seafood soup, red snapper, and fish with melted cheese to share. All of this came out to be only $ 40USD! Fresh seafood at such an affordable price, you just can’t beat that. If you’re looking to try something different and to get away from the typical mexican dishes, give Tres Islas a try, it won’t disappoint.

Great local spot with super fresh seafood and tasty cold drinks. We had raw oysters, clams, agua chiles and mixed seafood tostadas. The margarita with chiles are nice too. They have mariachis wandering in and out. Fresh open air, very simple atmosphere but welcoming and comfortable. on our second visit they remembered our drink orders :) Highly recommended and our favorite spot in Cabo for fresh seafood.

Best seafood in Cabo! Hands down! Pulpo, camaron y pescado are the best, biggest and cheapest in town. Fresh food, lively atmosphere and excellent service. We always visit at least 3x/week when we are in town for only a week. Musts: Caldo de camaron Tostada de pulpo Coconut shrimp Filet de pescado Any and all of the ceviches are amazing Love this place! The also will call a taxi for you after as well. Definitely the best local seafood, plastic chair place you will find in Cabo. Delish!

Super fresh chocolate clams. The octopus that came along with the whole fish has a sauce that was buttery and tasty. Everything here is very fresh. But I would prefer Mariscos Mazatlan next door.

We were told by frequent Cabo San Lucas visitors about this place… we are pleased with the kind of service they gave to their customers. I got the seafood platter and it’s so yummmmmy!!! I traded the seabass filet to a grilled/broiled red snapper with butter and garlic. The octopus was cooked superbly –so tender and so tasty and the shrimps were finger kicking good! It’s easy to get to this place via taxi… nice ambience. .feels so homey. Kudos to David and all the kitchen staff!

The best and freshest seafood. This little gem was a great welcome after eating resort food all week! We were three couples who had drinks, shared three seafood boats(each serves two) which included octopus(yum) lobster, shrimps, mahi mahi, and some other fish… we also had this outrageous tuna dip on these great tostadas… and live entertainment. All this for a mere $ 78(usd) per couple and this included treating our driver to dinner and tip! Casual atmosphere, friendly staff. Nothing fancy, but we had one hell of a time… don’t pass this place up!

According to the locals, this place has the best seafood around. I always make it a point to come here when in Cabo. It’s a nice walk away from the touristy Marina area or a short cab ride. Either way, it’s where I get my giant clam, octopus fix and whatever other fresh goodness I can consume in one sitting. The ambiance is casual white lawn chairs at casual tables and very open to the street. The servers like most every other place in Mexico are super friendly and are kind to people like me attempting my high school Spanish! There’s usually some mariachi’s walking around who will play and sing music. You know you’re in the right place with all the locals dining here. I had one lovely Cadillac Margarita which was more than enough for lunch. This place is jovial, fresh and fun. They’ve got a nice variety of hot sauces including a nice habanero which goes great over my seafood ceviche. This is one to be missed when I have to go home. Until next time, Tres Islas!

I asked the driver, hey where do they have the best mariscos in town? He said Las Tres Islas and Mariscos Mazatlan. Then I asked him which one was his favorite? He said Las Tres Islas, so this is where I’ve been eating everyday and yes, the food is the bomb! Make sure you try the Mariscada appetizer and throw some on a tostada that they’ll have on your table, oh and spread some Tuna Cream on the tostada too! It’s the f@cking bomb too!

I was a bit disappointed coming here as our hotel bartender told us this was the best ceviche/seafood cocktail… He steered us in the wrong direction. We walked our asses here in the hot sun from our hotel and felt shorted. The seafood cocktail was not great as he spoke of it. It was okay, more on the bland side and not generous on the seafood(shrimp, scallops, and octopus) like Gardenias. The portion of seafood to the cocktail juice(clamato or tomato juice) was more like a 60⁄40.(Gardenias– 90⁄10). You can tell by the photos too. Also with the flavoring… It was bland, tasted like canned cocktail tomato juice and no other things like lime or spice. We saw another table poured a bunch of magi soy sauce and another mariscos sauce. They have a ton of sauce on the table(figures). One thing they do an excellent job though is their fried seafood tacos. I ordered fried shrimp, fried scallops and fried fish, and they were excellent! Much better than Gardenias, but it was very battered. Come here for the fish tacos and skip the ceviche/seafood cocktail.

Found this & other seafood places on Unilocal.Asked the resort staff & the taxi driver which is better & they recommended this place. The seafood platter was beyond delicious. It says it’s a platter for 2 but we had lots of leftovers. The food here is definitely more tastier and cheaper than the food offered at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach resort that we stayed at. See the pic attached… This place is a few blocks from the Marina so it’s a quick 5 minute walk down. The staff here is very nice & respectful to its patrons. However it was a bit obnoxious of them as we watched them gawk/whistle/howl at this woman walking down the street(no shame at all) but I guess harassment is the norm here. No air conditioning so we were sweating up a storm but there are ceiling fans.

Mariscos Tres Islas came highly recommended from a staff member at our resort. Upon arriving, my boyfriend and I were quickly seated. It was around 6 pm, so the restaurant was full and had a few parties waiting to be seated. Our server brought us our menus and recommended the seafood platter which includes garlic shrimp, coconut shrimp, bacon wrapped-cheese-stuffed shrimp, fish filet, baby scallops octopus, steamed veggies, tortillas and rice all for $ 40. We thought, «we’re starving, what the heck, we’ll give it a try». While waiting, we were brought out some salsas to enjoy with our crackers and chips that were individually packaged on our table. The first salsa was a type of creamy, tuna based dip. We were hesitant at first but, WOW. We completely annihilated the small bowl of tuna salsa within minutes. They also had a habañero salsa which was spicy, but delicious! A bit of tuna salsa and habañero salsa on your cracker and you’ll fall in love! The drinks were great also. Strong and flavorful. I also tried their horchata, which was divine! The ambience of the restaurant was great. With what seemed to be a mix of tourist and locals. There was a live mariachi band performing for tips. When they came to our table, of course I requested Las Mañanitas(Spanish happy birthday song) for my boyfriend. There was also a random clown who walked in making shapes out of balloons. I’m a sucker, so I happily took the ballon rose. Now, for the food itself– we were completely blown away. It was presented on the ship platter which was sizzling to keep our fish warm for the duration of our meal. This platter had so much food, I’d say enough for 3 people. If we were not planning to spend our night on the town, I would’ve had no problem asking for a doggy bag. Everything was cooked so perfectly and exploding with flavor. We managed to go here twice during our 4 day trip and we will definitely be back next time we return to Cabo.

I’m in love with the Pulpo! The octopus in garlic and chiles was phenomenal. This place was packed(mostly with Gringos). The habenero salsa was hot hot hot. Fire in the hole! Lots of fresh seafood and you can see and smell all of it while they cook in this open air restaurant. We tried fresh oysters, ceviche and the seafood platter for two. The margaritas were huge and stiff. The mariachi musicians were around to make your meal a real Mexican experience. The guy even took requests and knew 3 Johnny Cash songs! Unilocal did not steer me wrong this time.

I’ll be generous here with the 5 stars. To me it was like a 4.5. Came here via recommendation from my gf’s coworker. The service was friendly and the spot was filled with tourists(like myself) for dinner. It’s off the beaten path but definitely well worth the walk. They have a platter of seafood that they show you of the fresh catches of the day and they waiter describes the different combinations that they can put together for you. Pretty much anything you want! We had the octopus, fish tacos and the Devils shrimp. Oh man! All delicious! I was a little disappointed to see the fish come out as fried as I wanted it grilled but whatever we were on vacation so didn’t matter. The octopus was so tender and fresh and paired with lime and their fresh salsa and the hot sauce — heaven! The shrimp was also very delicious. We ended up eating the rice in the sauce that it was made in. So good! Overall very pleased with the main courses — dessert was so so. But hey you don’t go to a seafood place for dessert right? Our bill was $ 55 for 2 drinks. 3 entrees and 2 desserts. They accept credit card and good ol us cash and pesos.
