Visiting from Chicago and stopped at Costa Sur Wok & Ceviche Bar. Pros: Atmosphere was good. Lomo Saltado was amazing. Cons: Felt it was overpriced for the amount and quality of food. Not enough food variety on the menu

The full bar and helpful staff are only the beginning. The menu is outstanding! The best Ceviche without question. The Leche de Tigre is a must try!

The atmosphere leaves a little to be desired(music is deafening). Although the servers don’t rush to wait on you, they RUSH you to finish. If you turn your head or blink, they will swipe your plate and run(so you can’t object!). Every time I’ve ordered the guacamole appetizer, a Server has snatched it from the table when it was only half eaten. The FOOD: it’s the best. The mango guacamole, tuna ceviche, and Lomo Saltado are to die for– but chain down your plate.

Great service even late. Classy beer selection on tap. Delicious food!!! Fried rice is re-defined for me as a quality option.

Drove all the way out here because of the rave reviews on Unilocal and there are hand written notes on the door that they’re «closed for maintenance.» Would have been nice to know that before we spent so much time getting to them. Don’t know if we’ll make the effort again. Not very professional.

Went on a recommendation and boy was it worth it! Food was as fresh as can be and just as delicious. Service was great and the view on the patio wasn’t bad. Chips and guac with mango, peppers and onions sound interesting, but the flavors are awesome together. Their coconut basil rice is very flavorful and they add just the right amount of spice. Perfect finish for a day on the beach!

Great beer selection. Great food. It’s all good and I can’t wait to come back and try more menu items. The only knock, the music is a little loud. Great use of spices and mix of ingredients.

Thanks again Amber for recommending another great restaurant to me #winning! The restaurant is very clean and has a cool vibe to it. I ordered the Hawaiian Poke… The presentation is equally as amazing as this dish was! Now how can you go wrong with sashimi tuna, rice, avocados, mangoes, cilantro and sesame oil? The service was great too! I had Jess, she was as amazing as the food was. I will always ask for her! The food is a little pricey, but I would say well worth it, I mean who was to skimp on freshness of fish? I will be back! It really reminded me of being back home in Austin. I will visit here every time I’m in the Corpus Christi area.

Came here with a group for dinner on a Sunday. Service was okay– a friend ordered a beer and was given a glass with a chip, another friend ordered Margarita with no salt and got salt. Didn’t tend to our table very well. Nothing too too bad, but notable. She wasn’t super knowledgable about the menu(I myself am vegan and another in our group was gluten-free, so we had to ask a few questions about various menu items). Took a few back-and-forths to the kitchen to get it figured out, but at least she was thorough. Food was awesome. I had the Arroz Chaufa with a side of avocados substituted for the meat. Very very good. Tangy and not too greasy. Atmosphere was cool. Place really picks up around 7:00 though so and parking gets tight.

Potential to be good, but it was bad. And that $$$ doe. NOT $$. Very clean, hip, progressive environment that builds a foodies anticipation. Especially for the Texas gulf coast. The menu is very interesting with its choices: ‘Peruvian’ by self classification but as a San Antonio native, it looks like a weird mix of Mexican, Chinese and French. I wouldn’t say that this place is a solid 3 $ signs and not 2. A simple chicken lo-mien is pushing $ 17 with some ceviche pushing $ 30. The guacamole appetizer was very good with its mango infusion but it wasn’t amazing. The main entrees we ordered were interesting. I had the lo-mien noodles with chicken, which was a steep decision granted it was $ 17. It was garbage. The chicken was decent but the bowl of noodles itself, was nothing better than what one could buy at the grocery store. The noodles were incredibly salty. The main two ingredients had to to be salt and MSG. Even the presentation was less that appealing. Luckily, the chef took it off of my check(but I was basically scammed at checkout – which I’ve read before on some reviews of this place. I just didn’t think it was true. Minus one star My significant other ordered a turkey sandwich with mozzarella cheese. The sandwich was alright at best – it was about as good what one could find at Panera bread. Sorry to say, it didn’t make this place worth it. Minus one star. What really got to me was the checkout. Our bill came out to $ 17 after the noodles were taken off. I put down $ 30 cash with the expectation to receive change. The waitress, and bartender,(which was a little snobby, wearing her overly tight shorts to accentuate her butt) simply came up and took the check, said«have a nice day» and had no intentions on giving change. This is practically stealing to me. For this, minus one star.

Stopped in after showing houses. Wowsa, the island has been good to these guys. Full bar, big one, they even have purse hooks. Plus a ceviche bar, open concept. Four big flat screens. The restaurant has literaly tripled in size. Menu has stayed pretty much rhe same except they have added Texas munchies. Happy hour 3 to 7 daily. They have very young servers so of course the music was inappropriate to the rest of the vibe. Dont freak out over prices, you will pay $ 20 for a salad, however it is fresh fish. Also serve expresso!

My FAVE restaurant in the Coastal Bend… The food is Peruvian and amazing. The attention to detail is spot on and each dish is pure artistry. The flavor combinations are perfect. The basil rice!!! Oh my gosh!!! Perfection! And you will NOT find better ceviche. Everything is fresh, aromatic, and flavorful.

For 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, the place wasn’t busy at all. I had my choice of seats, but I perched at the bar… not the sushi bar. I soon learned that this small establishment was a «family affair». Most of the people at the bar was related or friends with the owners. I ordered the snapper ceviche. Hot was my heat selection. This $ 16.95 dish was not a ice cream scoop’s worth, but it was delicious as all get out! It’s not the traditional ceviche that I’m use to, but it definitely has my vote. Service is lacking here for sure. It took forever to get my meal. I think that they literally reel the fish in, chop up the ingredients, and squeeze the limes once staff place the order. But the end product was worth the wait. The baristas were pleasant, but not attentive. I wouldn’t recommend a group size larger than for people. There are around ten tables total inside the restaurant. The patio seem to have the same amount.

Gravely disappointed with this place. The website reflects that of a nice restaurant… this was nothing more than a generic bar and grill. The fish tacos are why this place even gets two stars. The fish and chips were some of the most disgusting excuses I’ve ever had for a meal. The chef, Nick, said he would take it off the ticket. By the time the waitress came she told us he only discounted half the meal. Avoid this place.

Everything we ate from the guacamole to the ceviche and Lomo saltado was incredible! The only reason why I am not giving a 5 star to the restaurant it because the pisco sours were missing something but they were not bad… Just missing something… To The flan was delicious and the ceviche fusion was an explosion of delicious flavor in your mouth! The environment of the place is great and extremely fresh!!! Will definitely go back!!!

Yum, tasty! Definitely a great place to try if you are on the island! Love the drinks and food. A little slow but maybe they are still working out the kinks of operations. I definitely recommend and don’t be scared off by the wait and/or small restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend this place for groups unless you don’t mind sitting outside.
