This place is great. I love the potatoes, chicken nuggets, barbecue sauce, macaroni and cheese, gravy, potato wedges, and biscuits. The fried chicken is more authentic than KFC but I think KFC’s fried bits and coleslaw is just a bit better. The chicken at Chicken Barn is more moist than KFC. It is all delicious. The biscuits can be a bit dry but that would be my only complaint. It’s quick and convenient.

I would give them 5 stars, however they need to work on the biscuits. Love the chicken & Spuds!

Was a big fan of this place before, but as of lately this place has really gone down hill. Today I ordered a 20 piece nugget meal and wow it was horrible! Food was not warm, spuds were not crispy, tasted like it had been sitting for hours. To top it off my stomach was in knots afterwords. I’m officially done with this place.

Growing up, I had always been a fan of the Foster Farms restaurants that were in the area. Soon after I moved down to SoCal, the restaurants closed, and I found myself often dreaming of the bbq chicken and spuds; in fact, I was on a mission to find spuds that were similar to or just as delicious as Foster Farms spuds, but I had no luck, until Chicken Barn opened up. Chicken Barn spuds don’t disappoint! I make sure to stop by and get spuds each time I’m in town, and I have my parents bring me some when they come to visit. I’m now grossed out by chicken that’s still on the bone, so I haven’t tried their bbq chicken, but their Barn Burger is pretty good, and I plan to try their bbq chicken sandwich the next time I’m in the area. I don’t have much to say about the service. It’s always friendly, but not overly so.

I only have a problem with the staff, they have a strict sauce policy, its ridiculous they have a chart that gives you way too little sauce, when you ask for a few extra they won’t give it to you for free even when you spend $ 40 on chicken. They make you go back to the register and pay .25¢ each. Then you find out the sauces are only filled half way. I asked to speak to a manager and it seems they all have the title of manager and they all don’t know about customer satisfaction. The chicken barn food is good, I suggest you go to the other location on McHenry where they won’t nickel and dime you.

I have been eating here for many years and I will continue to eat here. As a great fan of their Valley Sauce and nuggets I never try anything else. Their nuggets are great and well. Everything is fresh and you can tell the fryer oil is changed often. Keep up the good work.

After driving back home from Auburn today, we drove across town to Chicken Barn on Oakdale… We went through the drive thru around noon and had a REDCARPETEXPERIENCE!!! The beautiful, young lady that helped us, with great enthusiasm and pride showed all the way back across town to eat the amazing meal that was cooked and packaged with TLC… Thank you for the awesome tasty 30 piece nugget meal and the amazing sides!!! We will definitely treat ourselves again soon!!! ;)

I’ve been coming here with my family once a week for the last couple years. I’ll never go back. Went the the drive thru and got the kids their regular order… Only to find out I forgot my ID when I got to the window. I asked if they could run it as debit for me and I was informed that they do not accept debit cards… who doesn’t accept debit cards? If it’s a cost issue pass that cost on to the customer– I don’t mind paying a few extra cents for the convenience. Aside from the Taco Bell, McDonald’s, Dairy Queen and Subway nearby, there’s also a very good Vietnamese restaurant in the same Parking lot and a good Salvadorian joint across the street. And they all have up to date business practices.

So my boyfriend use to work at chicken barn, this morning we decide to get some. I always get the nuggets so we order a 10 piece for both of us. We get home and I pull the biscuits out of the bag and first thing I clearly see is a long piece of metal sticking out of one of the nuggets. My boyfriend told me that it was a piece of metal that got in the chicken from when they were cleaning it. I couldn’t believe that they allowed that to be given to customers to eat. I am very disappointed in this and shocked.

Tried this place tonight for the first time… and I was so disappointed! I am truly perplexed on how this place has four stars… must be a Modesto thing??? Anyway, using a Groupon tonight we ordered fried chicken, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and biscuits. The chicken was okay, a little on the salty side, and the wings had very little meat on them. Having seen all of the good reviews this place has, I was expecting a lot more. Personally, I like KFC original recipe much more. The mashed potatoes were also just okay. They tasted boxed, definitely nothing special about them. From there it just got worse. The worst part of our meal by far was the macaroni cheese. I cannot over-emphasize how bad this stuff was. I would eat Kraft macaroni and cheese over this stuff any day. The macaroni was mushy, and the«cheese» sauce was completely flavorless. It literally tasted like we were eating wet macaroni noodles without any sauce at all. This was BYFAR the worst macaroni and cheese I’ve ever had in my life. It was so bad, I almost feel like they must have made some sort of mistake that we should have brought to their attention… there’s no way they would purposely serve this garbage, would they??? I like to support local businesses whenever I can, but this is one place I can’t support. Bad, bad, bad.

Usually get good quality food. today rec’d burned mash potatoes, NO sauce for my nuggets and nuggets taste as if someone poured a tablespoon of salt over them. not to mention, I usually get a cool smiley person at the window, the gal at the window obviously does not like her job. I’ve turned on 4 — 5 peeps at the office to this place, I doubt I’ll make the drive for this again.

Been going here since it was Foster Farms Chicken. their chicken is always nice and crispy without being overly greasy, love their cole slaw and biscuits. If you want some real down home fried chicken with the fixins’, this is the place. Beats the Colonel hands down.

This place rocks! Every time I have gone to Chicken Barn the food has been excellent for the price you pay. The only thing is that the line can get long around dinner time, especially on weekends. The chicken sandwiches are delicious, as well as the bowls, nuggets and hot wings.

I have NEVER been disappointed with anything on the menu of any Chicken Barn, or their predecessor Foster Farms Chicken. From nuggets that make other fast food nuggets look like crumbs, to delicious Chicken, Chicken Sandwiches, spuds, I could go on. Best chicken restaurant ever!

This«restaurant» is beyond horrible. My reason for this are that the management and employees are not good people and they don’t respect the customer. I have 2 aliases that I go by. This caused them to not accept my debit card because I had one alias on my debit card and my second alias on my driver’s license. They turned me down because of this and wouldn’t let me order. Then they made rude remarks after about it. So all together, please avoid this restaurant and don’t give them the light of day. Just another note, I’m a cancer survivor and an amputee from cancer. So this makes me frustrated beyond belief.

Love their chicken nuggets, they are the only ones I give to my kid. They are the only ones I trust that it’s real chicken. =0) I love their BBQ sauce, super yum! I’ve tried their Teriyaki bowl and it was delish, fresh veggies and great sauce. Not too sweet, just the way I like it. I like the biscuits, spuds, corn, coleslaw, macaroni salad, but can do without the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was gross. It didn’t even taste like cheese. BLEH!

I grew up with The Chicken Barn, but it was known as Foster Farms’ Restaurant then. The name may have changed, but the food is the same. Great chicken nuggets that are not processed, but juicy chunks of meat. The spuds are awesome as well as the biscuits. I usually order the 5-nugget meal, which comes with nuggets, spuds, biscuit, and a drink. My sister is a HUGE fan of their BBQ chicken and has them double bake it so the BBQ sauce is baked in. Mmmmm… I no longer live in Modesto, but ALWAYS make a stop here when I’m in town. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Chicken Barn.
