Heard a few good things about this place around town and decided to drop in for lunch today. I was quickly disappointed in the length that it took to bring our drinks from what seemed to be slow time during the day. The bartender was busy chatting away while we waited over 15 minutes for drinks. The menu seemed interesting and we ordered a few things off of it. I ordered the Cuban sandwich and my girlfriend ordered the pulled pork salad. The pork was very dry and not much flavor to it for both the sandwich and salad. If the pork was dry, imagine how the duck would have been prepared which was also on the menu. The garlic fries were the only good thing about my meal and they were a side accompaniment. Got to say, all in all not very good experience. Too bad because I heard good things about this place.

Love to do brunch here. The Hangover is my favorite. The tater tots are so good. The duck bacon is amaZing! Gotta get the rooster bullets too. The cocktail I’m loving right now is a peach basil mule. So yummy and fresh. I also love the fact they have a dog friendly patio. It’s always great to include the fur babies. ~Enjoy

I really enjoyed everything about the pig. The owner was very friendly and offered us to taste several beers. My only personal complaint was that all the BBQing had way to much cinnamon, even the beans. Everyone else loved it thou

The garlic fries were awesome. Everything else was meh. Took forever to get our food for such a slow night, it wasn’t even half full. I got bourbon burger and order the bread pudding. The bread pudding was nasty. They didn’t cook it. When I asked why it was cold the waitress told me that’s how cooks said it was supposed to be. Bread pudding is usually my go to for deserts when eating out. Not only was it disgusting it was a waste of 6 bucks not worth it. DONTEVER get the bread pudding.

This was our first time coming here. A local friend of ours recommend it for lunch. It’s a clean, up beat, new age bar and grill. The waitress had great customer service and knew a lot about the menue and all the specials. She said we had to try the Bloody Mary so I did. It was great. It even came with bacon! I had the Burbon Burger with garlic fries. The burbs sauce was delicious and the garlic fries had extra garlic and were perfectly fried. I believe they even do their pickles in house like all the other food. My boyfriend got The Works Sandwich. It came with a large chicken breast lots of bacon and ham. No skimping here! We will be back! There are at least 5 other items on the menue we need to try.

I think the Twisted Pig has a great concept going. The food was pretty good. Although, to be perfectly honest, I would rather go to Rivets which is only a couple blocks away.

I’m in town visiting family and we’re getting hangry! Not really familiar with the Modesto area, my Brother-inlaw knows this great little place he’s sure we’re gonna enjoy so we give him the benefit of the doubt. Hell, the name alone has me intrigued and a quick perusal of the Unilocal page photos already have me salivating. It’s a friday night around 7pm and I know everywhere we go is gonna be busy, so he calls ahead and we head over. Location: It’s on the corner of a little strip mall and has a nice looking outdoor patio area. Not too inviting on a chilly January night but come spring and summer I’d love to relax with a beer and some garlic fries out there for sure! Ambiance: It’s a bar so it’s loud and cozy(ie: a little tight but not too crowded or elbowing your table neighbors). The waitress was just cleaning off our table for 5 as we showed up which was awesome! It was nice to find there wasn’t a long line, just a couple waiting on a table for two or a pair of barstools. Bar: Beer! They have a good selection and it paired really well with the meal. My BIL recommended a few of his favorites so I started with a really smooth Porter and followed it with a pale ale. Menu: It doesn’t seem very big at first glance but they actually have a decent variety, ya know; sandwiches, burgers, salads, meat, and sides. Don’t forget the daily specials. I understand that Fridays is regularly Prime Rib. And now you can refer to my photos, we ordered: Pulled Pork & Trip Tip Platter(with sauce on the side). — The pork even without the sauce was moist and had a nice smokiness to it. Fish & Chips — Heavy on the batter but it was tasty and crispy. Bourbon Chipotle Burger looked freakin’ amazing! Daily Special Prime Rib Dinner(all mine!) — Med-well and oh so tasty. It had a nice crust on the side and the creamy horseradish was nice. I enjoyed the vegetable medley too. The General Lee — get this… a deep fried chicken breast smothered in this delicious, creamy bacon gravy. Not a huge fan of the greens but everything else was on point. …and because not only do I love food, but I don’t know when if ever I’ll have the chance to return, I was compelled to order the other daily special, The Gringo! A deep fried bacon wrapped hot dog piled(see the before photo) piled high with house Mac n cheese, pulled pork, housemade BBQ sauce and fried jalapeños.(see after photo). It. Was. So. Good. I am seriously craving another, the flavors just went together so well, it was crazy. Now you’re probably wondering how we even have room for dessert. The Maple Bourbon Bacon Cheesecake(from the bakery nextdoor) was perfection, firm and creamy and not overly sweet. The Smores Bread Pudding was insanely good with bits of toasted marshmallow, rich chocolate drizzle and a scoop of the bacon-bourbon ice cream.

First time in. Bars is ok but very open and bright. Has a no frills sports bar feel. Nice little patio outside and the juke box speakers are outside. Nice crowd of mainly twenty somethings. There was a litle group of people outside with a few dancing and a lot watching. Had a cheeseburger and tatertots. Kept calling them hash browns which I think is because I wanted to have breakfast with our waitress. Back the food. Burger was good and on a roll not a bun. Made too order and really tasty. Stiff drinks the bar tender was not playing. Overall it was ok. And then there is our waitress. Super friendly amazing smile and and incredibly hott. WOW. Very attentive made the evening click.

Ok let me start by saying that this was our second time here. The first experience was great. Great service and awesome food however the second time wasn’t so great. We walked in and were seated by the hostess and the waitress immediately asked us what we wanted to drink so we asked if she could give us a couple min to look over the drink menu. Well a couple min turned into us waiting for 7 min. We asked the waiter if he would mind getting our waitress cause we have been waiting for a while to get out drinks. He apologized and said he would go get her. He walked around the bar and asked her to come to our table well she had the look on her face like she didn’t care and left up sitting there for another 4 min. Finally we got up and left. The waiter that was kind enough to go get her for us tried stopping us but by then I was upset. I wish I would have gotten his name cause he was our waiter the first time we went to eat there and he’s great but that waitress needs to find another job cause she lacks customer service skills. I will try them out again in the near future but this time we will ask for the waiter that first served on our first visit to twisted pig. I really like the food and atmosphere.

Delicious and varied menu. I tried several items and was pleased with each one. The descriptions provided on the menu were spot on to what was actually served. The ambience and service was enjoyable too! I will return to check out the outside area and try a few more dishes.

Crrave-worthy food and drinks, tasty daily specials, attentive staff and a casual friendly atmosphere make The Pig hands-down the BEST bar and grill in town. I’m partial to their Cocky Irishman and Redneck Nacho, but the Friday Night Prime Rib and Bacon-garnished Bloody Mary are stand outs as well. Go and drink and eat, but please don’t take my seat.

Man oh man, its been a long time since a place was able to shock me, but if you haven’t been to this restaurant your missing out. I pass by it every day and never really took notice, but then one day I read the name on the roof and was like… hmmmm…Seems interesting I should check it out. Its a smaller restaurant with a big feel, we sat at the bar which took center stage. The Bartender was amazing. He was on point, interactive and very quick with all customers at the counter. For appetizers we had tater Tots loaded with cheese, tri tip, sour cream and pico on the side. I had the mussels, My girl had the burger. All amassing. The eclectic ambiance and music with football games on tvs, was not distracting and kept to a decent level

I was twisted after visiting this place :( Everyone’s food was cold, everyone got their plate at different times and it was a bad experience, I do not recommend this place for food. The drinks were good and the atmosphere was fun but the food sucked!

I was very excited to try this place out. From the pictures I have seen on Unilocal the food looks amazing and atmosphere also looks amazing. This is review is based on my first impression. I went here for lunch on a Thursday. We arrived just after 11AM when they opened, as we heard they are a hot spot for lunch. We were prompted to sit where ever we wanted. We had our choice of seats and we sat along the wall that was lined with benched booth seating flanked with chairs on the opposite side. It was very comfortable. The tables were rather simple and minimally dressed with a faux succulent and the placard listing their beers and happy hour specials. The utensils were wrapped in white cloth napkins with a blue stripe. The walls were adorned with what I believe were beautiful black and white photo prints, which were mostly covered in spiderwebs for Halloween, but I believe any other day they would have been very classy and minimal matching the overall theme of the bar. I felt the music was a little loud for 11AM, which was exacerbated by it being country music. I’m younger and was able to hold a conversation fairly well, however I would never consider bringing a heard of hearing parent here for lunch, as it would make having a conversation rather pointless. I’m not opposed to there being music playing, even country music, but the volume at 11AM in a near empty room I felt was inappropriate. Though it is a bar and not a restaurant, so based on calling it a bar that serves food at 11AM I’d be willing to overlook the volume, it’s just a matter of preference. The room did begin to fill up with a lunch crowd, but I wouldn’t say it was very busy. Based on Looks alone I’d give this place 4 stars, it’s very clean and very stylishly appointed, I’d only remove 1 star for the music(again this is based on 11AM, not prime happy hour bar time) After being prompted to sit where we wished we were promptly brought menus, including the bar drink menu. We asked about the daily specials, but the server didn’t seem to be knowledgeable as to what they were. The menu was rather simple, but it appears they have quite a selection. The menus consisted of nice selection of appetizers, salads and sandwiches, there were also desserts listed, very well rounded for a bar menu. As it is a bar the menu is very bar-centric, good to soak up imbibing some of the nice selection of craft beer and other libations. There was a lot of bacon on the menu, which is absolutely fabulous. Everything is presented to be a bit classier than traditional bar food with a price point that is also higher than traditional bar food. So going in I’m expecting this food to be far above average to meet that price point. We ordered the Mac &Cheese as an appetizer and requested it to come first and this request was met, we had our appetizer in less than 10 minutes from ordering. The mac and cheese was very salty. It was made with a processed(velveeta like) cheese product with was flavored with bacon and topped with a panko crumb topping. Personally, I’m not a fan of processed cheese product, but if you like it, you will really enjoy this. This is definitely not a packaged warmed up product, you can tell it is made by hand, the size of the elbows and the consistency of the sauce was very good. The panko crumb was a nice contrast to the salty mac &cheese. However I don’t feel good paying over 8 dollars for something not made with actual cheese. On the contrary I could see this being excellent to keep from getting too drunk too quickly paired with one of their beers. Paired with a beer it may have cut the salt better. Shortly after we finished our appetizer our entrée arrived. Very promptly timed. The food appeared to be fresh and not sitting for long. I’d say good timing. My friend’s meal was priced about $ 10. Pulled pork sandwich with Portuguese beans. The roll was a good soft consistency, not crusty of flaky. The pork was good and the sauce was sweet, but not overpowering in my opinion, was topped with their apple coleslaw. I felt the coleslaw was missing something, but it was a good topping to the pork. The contrast of sweet warm meat and the cool crisp coleslaw was a pleasure to eat, though I only tried a few bites. The Portuguese beans seemed a little flat in flavor, not very rich in comparison to the other foods. I’d say price for this entrée was appropriate, though I wouldn’t get the beans again. My Cuban sandwich and garlic fries was about $ 11. It was good, the bread had a good consistency, the pork on it was absolutely amazing, The pickles appeared to be house made, perhaps, they were spicy, but not dilly, I expected dill pickle on a Cuban, but they were unique. I did not like them, so I took them off. The garlic fries were really good, tons of garlic, very good. While the presentation was very nice I’d say overall the food was underwhelming. Probably better for late night with alcohol, but at a hefty price point.

Have been here a few times. They have all three Whistle Pig Whiskeys, which was Awesome! Even the Old World one. Great selection of beers on tap. Enjoyed the Old World and the Red IPA. Food was great. Ruben was yummy and the Mac and Cheese was decadent.
