It was hot and I was in the mood for something light — ended up ordering the vegetarian mezze and an extra side of Greek salad. Great choice! The dressing on the salad was tangy and well balanced. The felafel was crisp on the outside but still tender. Generous servings of hummus and and a nice garlicky baba ganoush to go with pita bread. I’m full, got a smile on my face, and feel like I did my body a favor by eating something really healthy and delicious.

Like some of the other reviews mention, the super Gyro is awesome, delicious and filling. Nice environment and friendly employee. Will definitely be back!

This is one of the food trucks at the Bite on Belmont. I am crazy picky about felafel. It’s my food. I’ve been to Israel and tried all kinds of amazing fresh felafel. You can’t fool me with crap. This however is the best felafel I have had outside the Middle East. I am beyond blown away. It was perfectly cooked so just a little soft but crisp on the outside. It was nice and green with parsley… damn it I can’t talk about this anymore. It’s 11pm and they are just down the street but not open. TORTUROUS! Anyway, the salad was equally good and the guy who served it was super nice. I have to go back to Seattle in the morning and it will be a long time before I get it, so please go have some felafel for me.

Great falafel and veggie options! They seem to be a pretty popular food cart in the Portland area. Orders usually are ready very fast! Just dont try to order through the Eat24 app… you might have the experience I had were you show up to the cart and they have no idea what Eat24 is.

Their lamb gyro can’t be beat! The price is right and the meat is always cooked to perfection. The pita is never dry and there’s the right amount of spices and toppings. It’s delicious!

This is based on the lamb mediterranean plate I had. Pros: 1. Very reasonable prices 2. Quick service 3. Good falafel, tzatziki, and pita bread Cons: Just one. The meat and rice-highlights of the dish-were way too salty. Sure, it’s hard to say how much salt restaurants use but one bite and I was like, woah! The saltiness completely overwhelmed the flavors as I found it more and more difficult to eat what otherwise would have been a very tasty meal. I’m not someone who is very sensitive to salt as I rarely find restaurant food to be too salty-even when the actual level of sodium is pretty high. This was definitely an exception and I guarantee the meat and rice contained more sodium than packaged ramen. All things considered, I’m giving this place a fair review. Chefs of Aybla Grill, please go easy on the salt!

I wish I could give 3.5 stars because I was disappointed with the veggie mezza plate. The hummus tasted bland and if anything tasted like it might be going sour. I didn’t eat the baba or hummus or falafel(bland too) but the grape leaves were pretty good. However, the lamb gyro was FANTASTIC! So delicious, tzaziki was on point and so was the meat. Will return for more of that. Yum!

Delicious super lamb gyro. Flavorful, tender meat stuffed into a warm pita, then topped with just the right amount of tzatziki. Yummy!

This place is located near a bunch of other food carts, I believe the area is called Good Food area or Good Eats area. Aybla has many options to choose from, I had the Mediterranean plate. The food tastes fresh and the Falafel was great.

Hands down, the BEST lamb gyro in the city! Generous portion of perfectly-seasoned lamb, and tzatziki that is second to none. They have multiple locations, so you can get an excellent meal no matter what part of Portland you are in. Get over there today!

Best gyro in Portland as far as I can tell so far. Get the super lamb, ridiculously densely packed with the goods. Enough for 2 meals easily. Always super fast and they have a self serve pepperoncini tub, mmmm. Falafel here is damn decent as well. Definitely recommended.

I like me some good Mediterranean, and this place sure qualifies. Aybla Grill is within a small food pod around 42nd and Belmont. There’s a good mix with Thai, burgers, fish, fried chicken, sushi, Polish and Hawaiian. Today was something light and well, a place that took cards. I was in the mood for chicken, but they were cash only. Aybla looked good and I guess vegetarian was the meal of the day for me. I went with the super falafel. It was big as advertised and it tasted great! Falafel, hummus, tahini sauce, lettuce, feta & tomato all on a larger pita and it was only $ 8.00. These falafel were just garbanzo beans. Quite a bit of the falafel I’ve had lately has been both garbanzos and lima beans. This was clean and tasty and filling. I’ve got nothing bad to say about delicious food. Good Food Here(the food pod) has some good cuisine, from what I’m hearing they may be closing down soon, but the businesses will move on elsewhere, to other pods. It’s too bad, because it’s a great area to have a pod like this. Enjoy.

This place is really becoming a regular stop on my weekends, usually Saturday just after they open. I love the Gyros. Most days I just get the simple Gyro, but on those special days when I am just starving, only the super lamb gyro will do the trick. Their meat is moist, plentiful and delicious, the sauce is sharp and creamy and their service is top notch. While this is probably not the best gyro in Portland it is certainly in the top 5, very good.

I am «Porltand Clueless» in several ways, and thought this would be just a storefront on Belmont you walked into. NOT! It is a food truck, and there is a small parking lot for a cluster of food trucks which are grouped together. So, this made for my first visit to a PDX food truck. I looked at their menu and was debating between the Super Gyro and the Mediterranean Plate. The Super Gyro came wrapped while the Mediterranean plate featured the meat on the platter, along with rice, tzatziki sauce, and pita pieces. Since they charge the same for chicken and lamb, I had lamb. While lamb can taste funky at some places, the lamb was delicious. So was everything else. The service was friendly. When it’s clear here, it’s cold. The wind was whipping through that food truck park. Then, you take your food into a clear plastic tent and eat it on picnic type tables. I don’t know. Not my thing. So I’m knocking off a star. If they were a hole in the wall restaurant, they’d get a 5. However, it was a pretty darn good lunch.

Super Gyro. Yum.($ 8) The best I’ve had so far. Although the price has gone up dramatically in the last six years. I’m of the opinion that sandwiches shouldn’t cost too much, especially at food carts where overhead is supposed to be lower. Still, I keep going back.

SUPERLAMBGYRO !!! BigP says to me «load up, I have something to show you» so I jump in the truck and find myself parked in from of a really great food pod on se Belmont. he grabs my hand and makes a mad dash for the aybla grill cart and places an order for 2 super lamb gyros with a very friendly worker. ive never been the biggest gyro fan because, well, because ive had too many bad ones to want to keep trying. ive had a few good ones in my day but none that made me yearn for more. not more than 5 minutes later we were presented with 2 of the biggest gyros ive ever seen! still leary of what im about to do(come on, 8 bucks for this much food… how good can it really be?) but dutifully take my position on the tailgate of the truck and unwrapped the most gorgeous work of gyro art ive ever seen! first thing I notice is the big, succulent CHUNKS of fresh lamb. I picked one out and gave it a nibble. which turned into a full bite. which turned into a love affair with lamb gyros that is probably going to make me gain a fair amount of weight because I plan on eating 1000 of them before I die. seriously. the pita — fresh, soft, strong enough to hold the contents. the lamb– ohhh the lamb. I do believe they pan fry the meat. it is probably the best lamb ive had at any restaurant and since I used to raise lambs for meat that is quite a compliment… im a picky bitch when it comes to food! the taziki(sp) sauce tasted fresh made and was better than any ive had in recent memory. the veggies were fresh and well balanced portion wise. I am still in awe at the sheer amount of lamb on that thing! i’ll stop drooling for a minute to tell you this: the super gyro is super-sized for sure. I ate until I couldn’t eat anymore and barely made it halfway through the thing. it was still awesome the next day btw! the regular size gyro was a mere 6 $ and the one that I saw while in line was a very substantial size. i am going back as soon as possible and am eager to try some of the other tasty items they offer… and another lamb gyro!
