First thing in the interest of honesty. Our trip to Morgan’s was for the bar only and we did not eat. That being said the atmosphere appeared fantastic for a higher end dinner in St John. Don’t let the outside fool ya, we did up until our very last day there and we regretted it. From outside it looks like just another casual bar like most in the area but upon walking up the stairs you see and feel a whole different atmosphere, still casual but just, well, «nicer». Drinks were good, bartenders were friendly.(Thanks for insisting the wife try the Bushwacker Morgan). We missed this place for most of our vacation, don’t make the same mistake.

A stalwart among restaurants in St. John, Morgan’s Mango should be on the must-dine list for ever visitor to St. John. Dining establishments don’t exist on an island for years and years unless they consistently deliver on food and ambience(and sometimes service). The voodoo snapper soared, flaky yet succulent, with seasoning that zinged on the back of my tongue. My life’s love had the corvina, baked with a mango rum sauce — nothing short of delectable. The décor wrapped you snugly in the Caribbean, without laying it on so thick that you had to shower when you left. Kids menu was helpful, but was seafood heavy — not optimal if your munchkin is currently opposed to eating the creatures she snorkeled with earlier in the day…

Amazing food and great service! We had a couple Great apps, some awesome cocktails, and mouth watering entrees. I had the Caribbean lobster which was to die for! The paella was the best I’ve ever tasted(and I’ve been to Spain!). I think everyone who visits St. John should try this lovely and delicious local treat. I just want add that one of my friends had the paella at Ocean Grill(a couple places down the road) and it was not as good and did not has as nice of service /atmosphere

Nice relaxing place for well prepared food with and relaxing live music. It was one of the best meals we had all 7 days in the VI. I would highly recommend the pick a pepper ribeye steak.

Service very friendly and restaurant OK. I do not recommend the Guatemalan seafood soup/stew. Was like boiled seafood in dishwater. The beans wee fabulous however.

We ate at a lot of different places in St. Johns and this was best. The atmosphere was great. Everyone had a bubbly personality and was super kind. They were checking in with everyone and were super caring. I want to exclusively thank Monica who was very, very nice and caring. The waiting staff was great. The food was amazing I had conk cakes as an appetizer and they were very good. For an entrée i had the Caribbean lobster special. It is two cracked and grilled lobsters that are served with a variety of sides, including fried plantains and Wine. The special is only served on Tuesday and Saturday. Everything was played beautifully plated and so good. This was my favorite place i ate in St. Johns it wasn’t as classic but it was amazing. A must go restaurant if you are in Cruz Bay.

Drinks were yummy and food was good, not great in comparison to other restaurants we frequented such a Extra Virgin Bistro and Zozo’s but was good. Waiter was sweet but service was slow for the prices.

We had a very nice dinner last night. The food was as good as always. The atmosphere is always casual and relaxing. Staff is very friendly and professional. The tables at the back get a little less air flow, so it may be a bit warmer back there. Try for a table out front.

There are some people that are very quick with the negative reviews, not so quick with the opposite. I really do not consider myself one of those. I truly feel bad giving negative reviews. In the past 15 years I have been coming to St John. For at least 10 years if not longer I have been going to Morgan’s the very first night as well as the last night of last vacations, in addition I often came many additional times. In the last few years my enjoyable times at Morgan’s are not always so great. Don’t get me wrong, there are good times, but lately it has been like playing Russian Roulette. Example: Three years ago I had a reservation, we waited a bit for the table, but the real problem is once we did get a table we did not receive a waiter or waitress for close to 30 minutes. Even worse, more for them then us, we gave up and left. When we left, not one person even seemed to be aware. We walked next door and discovered Ocean Grill! Good for Ocean Grill, good from me, not so good for Morgan’s as my $ 180 that went away from Morgan’s and pocketed into Ocean Grill. None the less the next year when we entered St John our first night was at Morgan’s. Things continued, most meals enjoyable, but there seemed to be a slight drop. This year we have already eaten here twice. My wife ordered a vegetarian entrée. A couple of mistakes. First the waiter did not check to see how our dinner was. Luckily a busboy or possible other waiter walked buy and pointed out the meal was Cold. To me it not only ruined my wife’s meal it ruined mine as, lets face it, how can a person enjoy a meal when others are not enjoying theres. Yes, after making it very clear to the manager they pulled the old protocol of giving a free desert. I have to be fair, the Lime pie was great. Ok so maybe I am too easy most of my anger was gone after tasting my wife’s desert. Four days later we went again to Morgan’s Mango. Once again my wife ordered the same item. We had this time a sweet likable waitress. We pointed out to her what had happened on our last time with the cold meal. Ever remember PEANUT’s with Charlie Brown, Lucy, and the Football. Every time Lucy promises this time she will not pull out the ball at the last moment? Well that is what happened with us, Once again my wife’s dinner was cold! My wife is the opposite of a complaining patron. I promise you complaining is the last thing she ever wants to do. So… Yes we will continue to come here, at least for awhile. No longer one of my favorites, just a place I go to. We will continue, but at least for now this restaurant has dropped from grace.

After years of eating here when on vacation this past visit was my last. Its been going downhill but last night did me and my family in. 730 reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes for a table. As we were waiting the same number party showed up after us and was seated. No idea how that happened. The hostess was had to cover the staff at setting tables because they were understaffed which meant she also wasn’t doing her job which was MUCHNEEDED. We were never handed menus and had to ask twice for them. The entrees were ok but nothing special. My sons fries were underdone and my enpanada was small for $ 9. Every part of the meal was painfully slow i.e.: seating, menus, ordering, getting our food, and then we sat for another 20 minutes waiting for a dessert menu. Once received for a party of 7 we ordered 1 piece of pie which we once again waited 15 minutes for? I was so irritated at how long everything took I asked for the bill early and guess what… I had to ask for that twice too. The only positive thing that happened was that the waitress new the service was horrible and told me she would not force me to pay the automatic gratuity and I should tip was I felt she deserved. She may have saved the entire evening by doing that because that restaurant will never get my business again due to VERY poor management but I still tipped her well by taking responsibility. We were there with a 730 reservation and left at 10. Pathetic!!!

We all got the lobster. 1 ¼ pound which was huge! Big enough to share between two women, but a man might want all his dinner:) it’s ALOT more lobster then a normal lobster tail from the main states. Still tasted mostly like lobster, maybe not as sweet. Our server was pleasant however, my mom is an owner at the Westin and she brought a coupon for a free glass of wine. A glass of white wine is given with the lobster, however, she wanted red wine. The server would not honor the free coupon because she didn’t have a card to prove she was an owner. She had other paperwork to prove it, and the coupon is provided by the hotel/restaurant along with a sheet of other coupons, but NOWAY was the server going to honor this coupon, I think she even asked a manager as well. As a business owner, who has coupons out in lots of different sources, I would NEVEREVERNOT take a coupon. A $ 1 glass of wine should not be worth a bad review or an unhappy customer! REALLYBADCUSTOMERSERVICE! My fiancé and I both had Sprite instead of the free wine too, also saving the place money! We spent over $ 150 on 3 people, so the fact we couldn’t even get a free or swapped out glass of wine is ABSURD! I give great customer service at my business and it’s just shocking when I see a situation such as this.

We ate at over 50 places in the VI and this one was the best! Signature drinks were amazing and reasonable, my pork was the bomb, and my wife’s fish was delicious. I liked that you could sub out your sides if you wanted to try something else. It’s got an eclectic feel and a fun ambiance, and the two man band was awesome! Fun and not overpowering. I loved the bartenders, Brian/Ross/and crew/. Fun to talk to, made excellent suggestions. I wish we were there longer to sample everything. We ended off with their homemade key lime pie, and oh sweet jesus it was worth it. Do yourself a favor in Cruz bay, go here.

Do not go here if you have someone in yr party with hip or knee problems. Many stairs, no ramps or elevators. Even steps to the bathroom. Good lobster. Good wine. Great music. And great service. 3 stars due to lack of ADA compliance for handicapped. Not at all handicapped friendly. Be forewarned!

Went for lobster night. Food, music and service were fantastic. Started with the butternut squash soup, awesome! Then onto the stuffed lobster tail with key lime sauce — OMG! Wife had sea bass voodoo style which was also amazing. Ended with delicious key lime pie. Will definitely eat here again.

Good stuff. Went here with a group of six people, all had a different menu choice and all were excellent. Mahi mahi was great — this came with a small piece if corn on the cob that was mushy. Not quite sure why it was even there… not needed. Desserts of crème brûlée and some sort of passion fruit ice cream pie were were both good. Everything was clean and very nicely decorated. Service was slow. Had to ask for extra ice for drinks and waited too long to receive bill. Yes, we would return.
