A wonderful preparation of modern French gastronomy. The menu for the night we dined started with an asparagus salad with poached egg and bresaola, tomato gazpacho with confit courgette and aubergine– both simply sublime! The mains were Hake meunière and a veal steak cooked perfectly. Local cheese followed(a bit of heaven for any American who appreciates something from its source) and the apricot dessert was warm, tart… and could not have been conceived any better. The wine selections focused on the locals, as it should. The chef’s family produces an exceptional Chardonnay that should not be missed. The service is warm and personable and you can see that the front of the house is fully invested in the customers experience. Chef Charlotte was kind enough to spend time at our table. She exudes passion for her work which only makes the dining experience that much more satisfying. La Buissonnière should not be missed.

This meal was the perfect ending after a long day of driving through the French countryside. It was a little difficult to find, but worth a couple U-turns, to say the least. The asparagus starter dish was the Very Best Asparagus I’ve ever had anywhere. My husband ordered the filet medium(which is actually«rare», in France) and I had the sea bass. Both were wonderfully prepared. As a prior reviewer said, we were looking for The Meal to bowl us over, and we found it here. Alas, we were too full for dessert — just might have to go back tomorrow…

The best meal I’ve had in France ever. After many good but not great meals in France, I’ve been waiting for a meal to truly knock my socks off like meals in Germany, England, and Japan have done before. And of course, the great I’ve been waiting for came on the last day in France on our last day in the Cote de Beaune area. We were recommended to come here by our wine tasting nearby and this enchanting restaurant in Ladoix-Serrigny does not disappoint. The restaurant is a little non-descript from the outside, but the inside is modern quirky with large red accents inside. It felt like a very homey place. The server/host seated us and presented the village menu on the blackboard. I suppose this is their rotating menu. FOOD Butternut Squash Soup — Delicous! I used every piece of bread in the bread basket to soak up the goodness. Delicious cured ham on the sweet soup accented by roasted garlic bits, sea salt, and olive oil. Salmon with mushrooms — Perfectly cooked salmon sitting on a bed of mushroom pâté. Warm, nutty, and rich. Fig compote with fig cake — Refreshing and light to finish off the meal. Would highly recommend it for anyone in the region!
